Ik was 20 jaar geleden voor het laatst in Rotterdam. Het is echt veel mooier geworden zo te zien.
Jammer dat het eigenlijk verboden is om in Rotterdam te vliegen met een drone.

New York City used to be called “Nieuw Amsterdam” as the Dutch were the first to settle (other than the natives that were already present). It was a weird trade back and forth between the Duke of York and the Dutch settlers. The Dutch gave up the land due to the English threatening to damage the land. The Dutch felt that they should preserve such a beautiful place rather than to blast cannons and fight over it. They gave it up peacefully because the Duke of York wanted it. They renamed it to New York.

Rotterdam after the bombing in may 1940.
Know then that Rotterdam really was a vibrant beautiful old city.
It was one of the few cities in Europe that was completely vanished.
Rotterdammers fought themselves back and started all over again.
It really became a fantastic city ,
still building to overcome history.
Ofcource people are proud of their city.
No place like Rotterdam in all of Europe!

Nou niet echt hoor. de toren was deels verwoest, alleen de muren stonden overeind. na de oorlog vond er een grote restauratie plaats.

Toffe video ! Echt mooi gedaan . Toch , wat mij opvalt aan video`s die Rotterdam laten zien , daar zie je voornamelijk het nieuwe, moderne. Terwijl er toch ook het heel oude Delfshaven is wat erg pittoresk kan zijn op zo`n video.
Watching this video brought back fond memories of the year I spent in Rotterdam from 1992-1993 when I was in the U.S Army . I lived on Ambachsplein by the Metro since I worked in Capelle a/d Ijssell. A lot has changed since then (there was no Facebook, UA-cam or 4K HD drones of course). Used to love going shopping at "De Bijenkor" department store and eating at the Mexican Restaurant "Popocatepetl" near the cube houses. Is it still there? Was supposed to live/work there for 3 years but sadly, my husband got seriously sick and we had to come back to the States after one year. However, I am glad we got to go to a lot of places like Keukenhof, Floriade, Delft, Gouda, Amsterdam, Zaanse Schans as well as Belgium and Germany!

Looks a bit too modern for Europe, and you know what, i like it.
it was bombed in ww2 with nothing left so they decided to build a modern city on top of it. you wont see anyone demolishing historic builings for modern buildings now

Making a false statement, yes Rotterdam was bombed, there were buildings that could have been saved easily with little damage at least 150! There was also a big part of the city untouched, but still Rotterdam destroyed it.
@@Roy_787 Roy Dubbeldam they are still destroying old buildings, because restoration is too expensive that is what they are saying. They aren't even trying to preserve it

Rotterdam is amazing. In my opinion better than Amsterdam. I will miss it deeply.
surely you have to be joking. Rotterdam is my least favourite city I have been to in Europe while Amsterdam is my favourite. Rotterdam has lost almost all it's historic buildings in WW2 and much of it is a giant traffic jam. Amsterdam on the other hand has the largest concentration of preserved 17th century buildings and it is very pedestrian and bike friendly. we got bored of Rotterdam after 2 days and decided to go visit Delft instead.

@@RedroomStudios If you cannot appreciate modern architecture, then a visit to Rotterdam isn't a good idea. However, there are 18th century buildings, such as those in Delftshaven. Kralingen also has several 19th century villa's.. you probably missed that..
@@Squeller5 I can appreciate modern architecture very well thanks. the lack of historic buildings was only one aspect. my point is that being from North America, Rotterdam felt very much like a North American city rather than a European one. Rotterdam is a very car-centric city.... lots of traffic that makes the experience unpleasant.
XtremeNL - you must know that during WW2 Rotterdam suffered massive damage and "around 2.6 square kilometres (1.0 sq mi) of the city was almost levelled. 24,978 homes, 24 churches, 2,320 stores, 775 warehouses and 62 schools were destroyed." additionally in the city center the St Lawrence Church was one of the few buildings that remained standing.

I remember Rotterdam from my youth. The 2 lakes of Hillegersberg-Schiebroek Borough.. & various sub-districts of this area. I also remember the extensive thick green forest & golf course on the Northern edge of the city limits. The so called 'Elysium of Rotterdam' where rich people lived..
I remember Wild Highland cattle grazing in Schiebroek's forest.. Wonder if they're still there??!

Sorry, this is easy to do with a drone when you don't care about any rules. It's much more difficult to shoot good videos while following the rules. But then again, that is where the pro's rule of course.

zeker geen onnodige reactie. het mag gewoon niet en geeft dan ook geen goede indruk om het wel te doen, terwijl de rest zich netjes aan de regels houdt zijn er altijd mensen die overvliegen en het daardoor verpesten.

Cool video! Stupid question, how did you pull this off from a legal perspective? Rotterdam is a massive no-fly zone and it bums me out.

Hoe werkt het tegenwoordig met toestemming aanvragen voor drone opnames? Duurt dat nog steeds 4 tot 6 weken?

Je kunt geen toestemming krijgen om in Rotterdam met een drone te vliegen vanwege Rotterdam The Hague Airport: in een straal van 15 km mag er niet met drones gevlogen worden. Deze video is eigenlijk één grote illegale actie. Ook de hoogtelimiet van 120 meter en het verbod om boven gebouwen te vliegen worden geschonden.
Ik heb precies dezelfde vraag; de gemeente heeft namelijk geen idee wie hier verantwoordelijk voor is en stuurt je door naar de Rotterdam Media Commission, die niet te bereiken zijn.

Ik heb het ook even uitgezocht:
omdat Rotterdam binnen em straal van 15 km van Zestienhoven ligt, is het verboden terrein (en lucht) voor drones.
Het schijnt dat de gemeente geen ontheffing kan geven.
Omdat Rotterdam in zijn geheel in een CTR ligt, is het verboden om met drones boven rotterdam te vliegen. Tevens wordt er boven gebouwen gevlogen wat ook al niet mag.
De gemeente kan hier ook geen ontheffing voor geven.
Handhaving van de drone regels ligt bij het IL&T (Luchtvaart politie).
