One thing you can't help but love about old school kpop is that more older groups were around. Like Kahi debuted at in her late 20s-- After School debuted as GROWN WOMEN. Most groups these days are so young... I'm not saying it's a bad thing because I do enjoy a lot of the newer groups!! (I'm rooting for Gugudan, Pristin and OMG especially!) but atm there's not really many Grown Women groups out right now, and I miss that...
n_monade longevity in groups. For me? That plays a big factor. I was 14 when I found F(x) half the members were young like me back then but then we had someone like Victoria WAY OLDER. These days releasing a grown woman group one appeal to the young ones. I’m now 24
This is like my favourite song from them ever ever. There's something about Kahi that's so appealing. Like I feel she gives off this aura of reliability and strength. She was a great leader!
Same here, tho I do like Raina's voice, for me without those 3 AS isn't the same anymore. I liked Nana in the group, probably because she was mostly a visual but she wasn't a bad addition. I didn't like UEE though.

Like it was a lot during the days. I don't feel anything negative towards UEE now but back then it was still hard.

pledis stopped promoting them since 2015 & a lot of members left the group... but officially they aren't disbanded yet girl with ponytail was kahi, the leader. she's now married with two kids~ however, you could still watch her as a mentor in produce 101 season 2 (2017)
that and everyone doesn’t like UEe 🤷🏻♀️ or at least they didn’t like her while she was in the group. She wanted to be an actor but debuted as an idol before she got a start in acting... by everyone i meant fans, her band mates, and tv shows... etc Correct me if i’m wrong anyone
@@_lillianma97 Uee has always been one of the popular members of after school though. Although she did get critised a lot at the beginning for her deadpan expression on stage but she improved a lot. She also transitioned really well to acting. Kahi is my bias though.
Halimah she may be popular for having a nice body but the way she gets treated on the tv shows she’s invited on says otherwise. Lizzy trash talked her on a variety show and got criticized for using her band mates misfortune to her advantage. just my opinion - i’m glad she’s out of pledis and after school. hopefully she can find happiness and peace for herself
Came here after seeing Nu'ests performance on Produce 101 season 2. I wonder why the tone feels different? The lyrics really touched my heart...I can't believe I was sleeping on Nu'est and After School all these years..HWAITING AFTER SCHOOL AND NU'EST!
pledis is such a good company for their productions, amazing music videos, music and artists. Each of their choreography is so synchronised and touching i want to thank them for seventeen, pristin, orange caramel, hellovenus, and afterschool. They are legendary.
it's interesting that before kahi and uee were like the most popular (i wasn't a fan in those times but it seems like that seeing this video) and nana, the most popular now, was always behind and didn't stand out
Nana was a new member at the time (along with Raina, but Raina was main vocalist so she got more screen time since she had lots of parts in the song). Whereas Nana was just a sub vocalist and at the time... Jooyeon, Uee were the main visual members. Kahi was the center. Nana really only gained popularity after Orange Caramel's debut.
I miss this golden era of kpop, when most groups can sing with live vocal with full OPEN MICS. I'm still watching some of the kpop group now, things really different esp live vocal, yes some of the kpop group have good live vocal.
There is no grup like After School anymore, I miss old school kpop sexy, classy, seductive and mature, even in big diversity of concepts Back than there was space to be a grown woman.
