You have got to love the way they spot weld everything and not even that well and then bondo over everything to hid the crappy cold welds or holes they did not weld
I thought at first they were only spot welds, but they're not. When we look at the guy in brown with the beard you see it's welded properly and he's cleaning up the welds. As far as quality goes this looks like it's very durable (look at 24:00 and see full weld lines).

There are few factors involved in squat work , First there are no quality control systems to exam the quality of the products and work environment therefore businesses are free to exploit labor because work benches require more space and equipment that will increase the startup cost many folds, and an other factor is the lowest class or labor class in this country has a tradition of working while squating that is another reason that a business never has to face an issue while providing a work enviroment without following any civilized standards
Have you seen Chinese Tai Chi exercises, or even Indian Yoga exercises, the Asian people are able to bend their bodies in much more interesting ways, which Western people can only imagine. So, squatting, bending, standing, is not a problem, and actually healthy. Even toilets in those countries, are Squatting Toilet, and The Western Toilets, where you sit, are called, Western Commode. Western People have become too lazy, to say the least. Hope this explains the squatting and working on the bare ground, a little.

It's both sad and inspirational to see such videos. Sad because owners take full advantage of these workers.. They do it because they can.. For each job a 100 applicants and no legal recourse. Inspirational, inspite of these conditions, these workers are working hard to put food on the table. Doesn't seem to be anyone over 30-35 working at this place. Next generation already apprentices.
These are semi skilled trades people. They make enough money to buy boots and proper welding helmet. A Pakistani commenter mentioned that the boss could buy it for them but they wouldn't use it. Maybe he's talking shit. My concern as a worker where there isn't a social safety net is my health and longevity to do the work. I would be wearing steel caps and proper ear and eye protection. That's affordable. The longer term problem is respiratory. Those surgical masks are worthless. Maybe a fan to redirect the worst of the fumes.

I really like their use if various jigs. They have good skills, although their equipment and shop could be better. The main thing as some have already mentioned they need PPE. It is no laughing matter, their work conditions could most cause personal health issues and injuries. It would be nice if someone were able to gift to them some PPE, especially welding helmets and long cuffed gloves. Just my opinion. -Rob in Tennessee
I can imagine these poor welders will suffer from flash back as the glasses he is using aren't the correct ones. The uv light from the welding will destroy his eye sight very quickly and there's no N H S or dole for him to claim. The owners don't give a dam about the work force...
I love these gas engine driven donkey carts. But for safety reasons for the driver wouldn't it be better the passengers sits in front to shield him? Hopefully all blinded welders ride for free.

These rickshaws probably maxes out at 15mph, it's not going to be too bad when the welds fail.

It's cheaper to replace a worker with a bad back than it is to replace a damaged table.
