You can find biographies of the authors of the books of Hadith in their respective books. Bukhari in his Sahih, An-Nasa’i in his Sunan and so on.

Was the year that he passed away 279 or 297 AH? There seemed to be a difference between the arabic and english (I assume the arabic was correct and Ustadh had a slip of the tongue when translating?)
