Sorry. Despite the overall similarity of the two vehicles the Telluride and Palisade lean toward different audiences. The Telluride, built in Georgia and aimed almost exclusively at the North American market, competes with other mainstream midsize SUVs such as the Ford Explorer, the Chevy Traverse, Honda Pilot, Toyota Highlander, Grand Cherokee, VW Atlas, etc. All of which emit the sort of "rugged" vibe that Americans love. The Palisade, on the other hand, is built in South Korea and aimed at international markets where the 3 row SUVs that dominate the North American markets have minuscule market share or aren't even offered. In those markets "luxury" trumps "rugged" and the Palisade's main rivals are SUVs from Europe with significantly higher price tags.
@derek flint it's definitely making me change my mind about Kia's I just hope that they are Dependable in the long run. it'll be interesting to see where these are after 150,000 miles and see how their engines and Transmissions hold up
@@chriskelly509 I can only speak for my Kia, which is a 2014 Sorento. But, I have 150k miles on mine, and I have only had to do maintenance and a few minor repairs. I still love my Sorento, but we are looking to get a larger SUV.
We scored our 2020 Moss Green Sport AWD in March 2019. My wife loves it and to this day it's worth more than we paid for it. My wife said she do t care about turning a profit because she is very comfortable driving it. What a pleasure taking it to FL from NJ. The adaptive cruise with the lane assist is amazing. Took some ti.e to trust but it practically drives itself taking the stress of driving way down. You do an outstanding job with your reviews and find them unique and entertaining. Great Job.

The 2022 badging is beautiful, and appreciate the upgrade in the infotainment center. Its still the most bad ass midsize SUV on the road. Question: Did KIA get rid of the “EX” trim? You never mentioned it and its the trim that I have? You only mentioned the “LX” “S” “SX” and “SX Prestige.” Well Joe, You continuously manage to amaze me with your wit, creativity and knowledge of these cars.
The Telluride really gives you a lot of value for your money. I remember the Highlander XSE that was over $40k and the backup camera didn't even have trajectory, like what.

Love the mount style of the info-tainment screen! That’s one of the things I would “zonk” in most other vehicles. When I saw this, I was like, “Bam! There ya go! It’s not a zonk anymore!” Did you mention anything about heated/ventilated seats? The other thing I would’ve liked to hear from you is more about the higher trims. But I’m sure there are reasons for that. I DO think the new badge is mind-blowing and so fitting on the Telluride.
Brought home a black on black S yesterday for the wife. She doesn’t want to get out of it. Every neighbor has commented on how much they love how it looks.
So many car reviewers complain about rear wipers being at the base of the back glass, and while I do agree that vehicles look cleaner when they’re tucked up and away, for functionality’s sake, I’ll take a wiper at the bottom of the window every day of the week. It just clears more real estate and makes it much easier to see out of the back glass. But that’s just my opinion. 🤷🏼♀️ Also, I love our family’s Palisade, but my husband will always wish it was a Telluride. 😂
Agree and interesting is the Palisade tucks the wiper away. Nobody did this until GM came out with their latest Tahoe’s/Escalade/Yukon’s so it’s not like an industry standard.
@@kkatlvolvo The Palisade actually does not tuck the wiper away, either - at least, not where I’m from. I have a 2021 Calligraphy, and it’s definitely smack on the bottom of the back glass. 😅 I seriously hope that tucking the wiper away doesn’t BECOME industry standard. I would hate that.
I am WAY IMPRESSED with this KIA Telluride! What a quality SUV for anyone who wants very good updated basics that are included and looks...much better than I was seeing within early 2021 & 2020. Great looking and plenty of room all around. Look out, completion! This vehicle will get attention.
In some places in CA gas is almost $5 per gallon! SUV sales will die here soon... I remembered putting my LX570 on CL immediately when a cup of "cost" $10 with gas factored in:) And this crazy stock market ain't going to stay high forever - history will repeat itself here.
I am not a suv person. Will never be. But I love looking. Years ago I would have laughed at the a Korean car . I would take this over any Chevy or gmc vehicle that they make. GM makes them right before 5pm on a Friday anyway 🤣😂😀⏱

I have ordered a 2022 S without being able to see it or drive it. I did get to drive a 2019 SX and loved it, but needed a vehicle sooner than the SX would be available. I can't tell you how much I appreciated this video in explaining the standard options and operation. Mine is scheduled for delivery before September 28. I'm so anxious and excited. I swear EVERY single time I come to this channel Joe has JUST reviewed a car/suv I am interested in. So it's either gonna be the 2023 Telluride (with hopefully a new 12" LCD display) or the 2023 Honda Accord Touring(if they redesign for 2023). Joe is also correct in how fast the Tellurides sell. I went to a Kia dealer last Sunday. He said the newest shipment of 5 new Tellurides would arrive the following Weds. I went and checked them out Weds evening. They were ALL gone by Saturday!
Hey Joe, nice review of Kia’s finest. Every time I see a Telluride on the road or parked, I have to take a double look especially the SX with those amber lights. You’re right, you can see this thing a mile away and you know it’s a Telluride. I wanted to test out your theory on the front door pockets so I went to my Costco and bought 8 churros to go with a Yoo-hoo I had laying around. Then I remembered I don’t own a Telluride so I drove to my Kia dealer but they were out of Tellurides! I can tell ya the churros and Yoo-hoo will fit in the back hatch area of a 22 Kia Stinger GT2😎
THIS ONE is $36k? I thought it was $55k just looking at it I saw a Houston dealer that sells these for $10k over sticker, if you can get one! They get 6-7 a week, and they are sold right off the truck.....
They are more expensive because dealers are ordering Tellurides with non removable upgrades. The tow package, AWD, 20 inch rims, captains chairs, etc...all add to the sticker price. Good luck trying to get the dealer to remove any of these. In the end, if you want one you have to accept all the extras and pay the premium.
@@gary.s7759 LOL are you serious? Get the dealer to remove factory installed options... There isn't a dealer in the country that would do that. Also I would like to know how they could remove the AWD system? If you want a base model order one.

Drove the 2021 and liked it just didn’t want to buy a new car in November when living in Chicago….. pictured winter weather with a brand new car and having someone crash into me. Of course in the meantime it’s turned into the hottest vehicle to buy !! Toyota dealer wants a 1K non refundable deposit on a 2021 Highlander that would arrive in August…. Guess it’s back to the KIA website to search for 2022 model…..

Just picked up my Telluride S model 3 days ago. I compared and drove both the Mazda CX-9 GT and Explorer Limited. The Telluride was the winner. This is an awesome SUV.

That’s a good price point I could see myself waiting a year are two for these in the use market for a much more reasonable price point below that brand new 36k possibly 10k off 1-2 years light miles
I wish we have these base models in canada,, EX model and up is so expensive for average income people,i dont need those fancy stuffs i just want a telluride
The lack of the base trims in Canada stems largely from the fact that all Tellurides are AWD in Canada while in the US AWD is available as an option at all trim levels.
I keep thinking of that dealership in Montana that had one of these listed for over 70K, calling it one of the most desirable vehicles in the world. And somebody actually bought it, so their craziness was rewarded.
I really love the telluride, if you want to look classy, go for the Palisade, if you want too look cool, go with the Telluride PS my dad is considering selling our minivan and buying a Telluride he really likes it great review Joe 👍

I wonder if Kia will put these new emblems for sale so you can put them on the 2020-2021 models. I have seen where someone painted the new emblems black on there 2022 model.
They have I just order 2 for my 2018 Kia Cadenza.. and I am having the Cadenza nameplate taken off ..and where the old Kia badge is will read K7 instead of Kia but new badges will be there n hood n trunk.. I got from eBay.. I chose the Cadenza over a 2018 Lexus es350...
The older Kia badges sort of dated the cars in my opinion, so I'm digging the new badgesl! Great review as always bro...I now want Costco churros - keep it up!
Sinking those badge letters inside the bonnet would require metal alterations, eventually might affect the build of the bonnet in case of a small crash, i believe. The more alterations and creases on the body, the more metal scrapping.
4:02 I’m actually glad the letters are the way the are, giving us the option of a clean removal. Now if only we could do that to the new rear badge without leaving a blank space…
Really nice SUV. To me, that side trim on the b-pillar, looks a little like the tiger nose. Not a bad thing, for sure. Definitely like the new logo badging, and yeah, the block lettering really needs to be sunken into the metal. Tons of interior space, good places to hide your twinkie! Thanks for this review, Joe. At 36K, this is the exact price of a 4-cylinder turbo mid level VW Atlas SE Joe tested a short while ago. I'd still take the Telluride.

The highlander will probably last you 300k miles plus. This one im not so sure.

Absolutely love the new badge. If I ever change from my Ridgeline, the Telluride is my choice.
This Kia Teluride is a dandy of an SUV and I think this is a great car. When will you review a 2022 Mercedes-Benz S600 or an MCI J4500 Motor coach?

I swear EVERY single time I come to this channel Joe has JUST reviewed a car/suv I am interested in. So it's either gonna be the 2023 Telluride (with hopefully a new 12" LCD display) or the 2023 Honda Accord Touring(if they redesign for 2023). Joe is also correct in how fast the Tellurides sell. I went to a Kia dealer last Sunday. He said the newest shipment of 5 new Tellurides would arrive the following Weds. I went and checked them out Weds evening. They were ALL gone by Saturday!
Hey Joe, nice review of Kia’s finest. Every time I see a Telluride on the road or parked, I have to take a double look especially the SX with those amber lights. You’re right, you can see this thing a mile away and you know it’s a Telluride. I wanted to test out your theory on the front door pockets so I went to my Costco and bought 8 churros to go with a Yoo-hoo I had laying around. Then I remembered I don’t own a Telluride so I drove to my Kia dealer but they were out of Tellurides! I can tell ya the churros and Yoo-hoo will fit in the back hatch area of a 22 Kia Stinger GT2😎

I saw a Houston dealer that sells these for $10k over sticker, if you can get one!
They get 6-7 a week, and they are sold right off the truck.....
There were markups prior to the reported chip shortage and weeks from order to delivery
You know what? I totally believe that!
They are more expensive because dealers are ordering Tellurides with non removable upgrades. The tow package, AWD, 20 inch rims, captains chairs, etc...all add to the sticker price. Good luck trying to get the dealer to remove any of these. In the end, if you want one you have to accept all the extras and pay the premium.
@@gary.s7759 LOL are you serious? Get the dealer to remove factory installed options... There isn't a dealer in the country that would do that. Also I would like to know how they could remove the AWD system? If you want a base model order one.

Love the new camera angle behind you and seeing the road better. Fantastic. Now I am stuck…. Drove the 2021 and liked it just didn’t want to buy a new car in November when living in Chicago….. pictured winter weather with a brand new car and having someone crash into me. Of course in the meantime it’s turned into the hottest vehicle to buy !! Toyota dealer wants a 1K non refundable deposit on a 2021 Highlander that would arrive in August…. Guess it’s back to the KIA website to search for 2022 model…..

I'm looking to get my first SUV, and after looking at all the competition, I think the Kia Telluride comes out on top, in my opinion. I can't wait to see it in person and also test drive it.
We had to decide between the traverse and the telluride and the telluride won, hands down. It is amazing

Just picked up my Telluride S model 3 days ago. I compared and drove both the Mazda CX-9 GT and Explorer Limited. The Telluride was the winner. This is an awesome SUV.

That’s a good price point I could see myself waiting a year are two for these in the use market for a much more reasonable price point below that brand new 36k possibly 10k off 1-2 years light miles
This new silver finish on bumper and grill door handles are like they updated with Calligraphy trim on Palisade to give more highlighted look

The lack of the base trims in Canada stems largely from the fact that all Tellurides are AWD in Canada while in the US AWD is available as an option at all trim levels.

The only color your gonna find for 36k is the Burgundy.
I keep thinking of that dealership in Montana that had one of these listed for over 70K, calling it one of the most desirable vehicles in the world. And somebody actually bought it, so their craziness was rewarded.

They have I just order 2 for my 2018 Kia Cadenza.. and I am having the Cadenza nameplate taken off ..and where the old Kia badge is will read K7 instead of Kia but new badges will be there n hood n trunk.. I got from eBay.. I chose the Cadenza over a 2018 Lexus es350...

Sinking those badge letters inside the bonnet would require metal alterations, eventually might affect the build of the bonnet in case of a small crash, i believe. The more alterations and creases on the body, the more metal scrapping.
4:02 I’m actually glad the letters are the way the are, giving us the option of a clean removal. Now if only we could do that to the new rear badge without leaving a blank space…

Really nice SUV. To me, that side trim on the b-pillar, looks a little like the tiger nose. Not a bad thing, for sure. Definitely like the new logo badging, and yeah, the block lettering really needs to be sunken into the metal. Tons of interior space, good places to hide your twinkie! Thanks for this review, Joe.
