    4 low doesn’t give you more traction it just gives you more torque. It’s actually worse in snow because you can’t get momentum without revving the crap out of your engine.

      Ryan Ryan Yeah I always found 4 high to be better in snow, only time I ever needed to use 4 low was a couple of times when towing off road.

      You don't use 4 low in snow; you use 4 high. I used to have a Jeep Wrangler with a similar setup for 4WD, and my when my dad was explaining to me how to drive it in snow, he told me you use 4 high. 4 low will not allow your car to go up to the speed that you typically drive at on a road during snowy weather.

    • @cj1000xyu
      @cj1000xyu 4 роки тому +4

      H2 for road use. H4 for snow. L4 for serious offroad 'crawling', moving overladen trailers on farms, etc.
      You should also, if you use it mainly on road, as a daily driver and don't take it offroad for months at a time, every couple of months, put in H4 for ~10 miles to give all the 4x4 components a good workout. They can seize etc. if you don't use them for months at a time and even if it works, when you next use them, you'll wear them unnecessarily.

    is 4L the same as 4x4?

    • @OmarMartinez-qj1us
      @OmarMartinez-qj1us 6 років тому +5

      4x4 is a term that not always is used right... 4x4 is the system (transmission, differentials, etc) that enable full off-road capabilities... in an 4x4 vehicle you will have the options of 2H, 4H and 4L (the letters can appear before or after the number, is the same), 2H is like a normal vehicle, two tires get the power to move the vehicle, 4H you will have the power distributed on the 4 wheels, this is recommended on wet road, gravel or dirt. 4L still gives the power to the 4 wheels, but, give you more torque, this is, you sacrifice speed in order to get more "power", this is extremely useful when you have obstacles in the road (or you are in the wild with no road) like rocks or you are in the mud.
