Eskimo Callboy are from a city in the west of Germany called Castrop-Rauxel. Kalle is from Spandau, which is part of Berlin. Hand Of Blood (Hänno), who played MC Thunder, is also based in Spandau.
Sadly in Germany its pretty much the same. Charts are dominated by rap and stale boring popstuff.
If you'd go out and ask 100 people if they know Eskimo Callboy maybe 10-20 have heared of them i would guess, so they are known but not by the large mainstream group of people mainly due to the popularity of rap not having a real overlap in musicfangroups with this type of music.
What a shame. That’s the beauty of the internet though. We don’t need charts to find great music.

@@unbekannterbenutzer5998 And - you won't believe it - German people in their 40s lived through a time where Metallica, GnR and Nirvana was played in big public radio stations like SWR or NDR. Since 25 years, you can't find such music any more in bigger German stations... everything is about political correctness and a framed cultural identity - very sad! But these stations are also 15% ads, 20% news, 10% traffic info, and 15% chitty chat talks and only the rest is music - so I decided to turn off this sh..t 10 years ago swapping it for Spotify and guess what? I didn't miss it a minute.

You mentioned that you love the dances. Kalle actually was a dancer and dance teacher before starting his youtube and streaming career. He also coordinated the dance choreography that you can see at the end of hypa hypa.

So the thing is, Eskimo Callboy (coming from Castrop-Rauxel), now also including the new kid Nico Sallach, are apparently since many years fans of German gaming YT channels and their hosts, who are gathered into a collective called Freaks4U (based in Spandau NEAR Berlin ;) ). Some of its notable members being HandOfBlood aka Hänno aka Maximilian Knabe, and Kalle Koschinsky, as seen above. Both of the gentlemen starred in MC Thunder 2 and in Hypa Hypa (among other gamers), and now we also get Kalle in this here video. Apparently the fan thing is mutual, so basically EC and Kalle and co. are each other's greatest fans. (if you need help finding Kalle in MC Thunder 2, he's the angry chef behind the noodle restaurant and later in a car. At the time of the recording of that video he was gaming through a Cooking Simulator in his YT channel, hence the casting idea). Some of the lines in this here video are closely inspired by Kalle's improvised songs and his favorite sayings very well known from his Let's Play videos, especially from his legendary Bus Simulator. Also, the dance routines from Hypa Hypa and from this video are his work. He used to work as a dance teacher in a dance school in Bremen, where he originally comes from.

I doubt that EC is played on the radio here in Germany. I stopped listening to the radio long time ago... I think for similar reasons as you mentioned. It's mostly the same stuff over and over without quality.

@@narv2k I always listen to radio at work (about 10 hours a day) but never heard EC on it. Also I tried wish it multiple times but they never played it.
I didn't even stop listening to the radio just because of the music they played. I don't know if that's still how they do it, but I got sick of all the taaalking in between and those stupid jokes and pranks. Like phone pranks and other weird stuff. I felt like I got lucky if I had 30 minutes of music in an hour. I liked pop, but thanks to the internet I discovered or rediscovered other genres after I stopped listening to the radio and got kinda mad that they didn't play that stuff on the radio. Would have been nice to know that I actually do like metal as a teen and not in my twenties. But I only knew some Metallica from the radio and some death metal or something like that from I don't know where. I honestly didn't know there are so many metal bands out there that have that kind of really heavy music/instruments, but don't scream or growl at me all the time (so many bands I missed out on). I need clean vocals in songs, but EC for example has exactly the right mix for me. But how am I supposed to know that when they WON'T PLAY THEIR MUSIC?? I was a 90s teen btw, so not many ways to find new music available at that time. And my family only listened to Schlager/Volksmusik 🤢or the radio.
@@00Jess_M Well, I discovered Rock/Metal/Alternative, etc. for myself when I was about 20. Before that I listened to Pop as well. But I don't regret that it took me some time to discover more complex music. So I, in ihr place, wouldn't bother that you needed some time as well. You can only really appreciate the things you like if you can compare them...
There are so many Rock-/Metal-Bands out there with different styles of music. 70s, 80s, 90s... untill today. I bet you'll find enough bands that match your taste. Screams and growls are not for everyones taste. I get that. I prefer clean vocals, but some aggressive screaming in music is great as well from time to time.
If you like, I could give you some suggestions for bands. Maybe you can find more bands you like that way.

I‘m pretty sure I heard „MC Thunder“ several times on radio in Switzerland because when I was checking out the MV and the Chorus hit I was like: „Oh I know this song“. The same for „Best Day“ feat. Sido where I‘m pretty sure that this song still gets played on radio.

For the most part, the lyrics are catchwords & -phrases (& references) from Kalle's videos and former EC songs (including associated comments). Like when Nico shows the finger gun and sings "Keine Angst wir schießen nicht, wir dancen nur" > "No need to be afraid we don't shoot, we're just dancing" (Nice Boi anyone?). And Kevin's lines are just brilliant! :))

Im actually from Castro(same city like Eskimo Callboy). But not even in our small town everybody knows Eskimo callboy . We have so many good metal bands here in Germany. But our mainstream is very rap and pop heavy. Its a shame

i am from germany and i never heard a song from Eskimo Callboy on Radio. Not really underground but it isnt Mainstream fitting so they they are big on UA-cam. I know they had some concerts with there former Singer "sushi" but since corona there was no big Concert whit Nico. But Tour is pretty mutch sold out and they will be on #ec4esc

germany is one of the biggest metal countries in europe, also historically (for example european brand of thrash metal, which started out not too far from Eskimo Callboys place. For example Sodom, who hail originally from Gelsenkirchen, Kreator from Essen, both very near each other), but apart from a few artists having some songs in the charts, it is definitely not permanently mainstream. Eskimo Callboy may be "big" in the scene but the average person on the street probably still will not know them. Nwo you kinda also have to check out Spandau Hardbass by Kalle and Gang, good thing is it does not have lyrics ;)... Two other recommended bands from Eskimo Callboys Hometown or close to that (at least partially by band members) would be Misanthrope Monarch and maybe Sulphur Aeon? Also highly recommended to check out! Although musically very different from this obviously.

To be fair, Eskimo Callboy grew quite big in the last 2 years, since Hypa Hypa. Germany is quite big concerning metal, a german metal Band called Heaven Shall Burn released an album last year at the start on the pandemic and they went Nr 1 in Germany for a couple of weeks. Very good Melo-Death-Band, maybe worth a shot. But they dont have fun videos or stuff like that, their songs are usually quite political, they live straight edge and are all vegetarians. Very good music! Greetings from the western part of Germany, fun reaction from you!

That's the 3 main tiers I've seen a lot of people do. Then just do some polls for people to help figure out what each tier unlocks from there. Eskimo Callboy charted in Germany in Top 20 with there Longplayer.
In Austria and Swiss and France there also charted.

"HandofBlood" (McThunder performer) and some other UA-camrs, like Kalle Koschinsky, live and work in Spandau, a district of Berlin, and think Eskimo Callboy is great and help them. Eskimo Callboy are from Castrop Rauxel, a city in North Rhine-Westphalia, and besides their music they like the humor of HandofBlood, Kalle & Co.

And no, EC are not soooo big in Germany. "Hypa Hypa" ist the best selling Song from them - Number 77 for one week in the german top 100.
We try and release at 5pm est unless it’s the weekend, then it’s a couple hours earlier.

You should check out Avatar - the eagle has returned with the music video, it's a metal band from sweden that is very creative and their music video for the eagle has landed is very entertaining, though not quite as hilarious as eskimo. It's still a blast and I really recommend you check it out!!
