2017 Jeep Grand Cherokee 5.7L Corsa vs Stock Exhaust

- The stock exhaust on a Hemi Jeep is quiet, boring, and sounds like a sewing machine. I installed a Corsa 2.5" Cat-Back exhaust (part #14991). Here's is a video comparing the stock exhaust to the new, more aggressive Corsa.
Finally a vid without some annoying dude talking in the background or some fool that thinks it's cool to do an exhaust vid in the garage.
I like when people are descriptive & show matching videos before & after. Great work!
Wow such a beautiful sound with the corsa
Sounds awesome
I’ve watched this video so many times lol decided I like the Corsa sound and ended up buying the same...this video really does the in-person sound no justice. So much meaner in person
Where did you order from?? Still loving it?? Drone?
@@JD-hi4qf I ordered from a 3rd party back in November, it was on back order and didn’t arrive until first week of March...always getting compliments and I still love it
Hi, how about the drone on highway cruising because of the MDS some people are talking about, is it real?
I want this setup soooooooo bad!
wtf is that fluttering noise
sounds great except it sounds like a leaf or something is fluttering around in there. What is that noise?
Nice
Done a thousand times
Are these cheap to maintain
Whoa, what a BEAUTIFUL difference. I'd love that effect on my 2015 Laredo. Would it negatively impact my gas mileage?
I haven't noticed any negative impact on gas mileage. The warning is that you will find yourself driving with a heavier foot. And it is certainly much louder than stock. It takes some getting used to. But I'd never go back.
Leif Clarke I just bought a 17 Laredo and i want to put dual on it. Does this exhaust have a drone to it while driving?
i noticed that the corsa tips stick out a bit more than stock, did you consider cutting the pipe so that it would fit better
Not only do they stick out a tad farther, they aren't exactly even either. So yes, I have considered cutting the pipe a tad, and I will probably do that soon.
Beautiful 😭
"sewing machine" ahHAHAHHAAHHA! So true! I'm 2 weeks into owning my 5.7 GC Trailhawk and I'm dying for this upgrade.
How's the MDS drone with it? With my Limited 75th 5.7, I get a bit of drone with the stock system if I'm at city speeds and give it gas while in MDS mode. I'm not very concerned about MDS drone, but just curious about it - I'd be more wary of highway drone, but from what I'm reading/hearing, the Corsa system is actually well behaved on the highway. Just not sure if I can justify the $1500 or so for one, especially on a brand new car
I actually can't tell when MDS kicks in. How do you know? I run it in ECO mode all the time and I can't tell any difference at any point. When cruising along on a flat freeway at 60-70 you hear a light drone. But nothing major IMO.
Huh, maybe you got a bit luckier than me engine wise! I can tell MDS kicks in when I'm driving around and start giving it gas, if the car shudders (and drones) I know for a fact it's in MDS mode. Honestly, I've been driving around with Eco Off in the city mostly to reduce my throttle lag (as I find sport is just a bit too toolish for every day driving) but the Eco Off is the perfect synergy between dull "comfort" mode and the aggressive "sport" mode.
How bad is the "fart" on shifting? That's the only other thing I'm worried about, but to be honest, I'm just worried in general about the system because increased noise == more people who look your way when you're gooning, the droning isn't even that bad for me no matter what
The fart from shifting isn't too bad and doesn't happen consistently. Of all the concerns going to an modified exhaust I think it's the smallest concern in this case. Just being prepared that it will be louder and more noticeable. Yeah, $1500 is steep. I found this one slightly used for $900. That made it a bit easier to stomach.
Yeah I gotcha. Something funny is I have actually heard the stock system fart on shift in sport mode, it seems to only fart with the stock when under heavy load (i.e. going up a hill) while WOT in sport mode for me
Stock = all engine from all the way yonder (and somehow sounds like an angry vacuum)
Corsa = Now theres the HEMI!
Looks like you have the factory tow package. Corsa’s website says it doesn’t fit with that option. Did you have any trouble with it?
That’s odd. I installed the exhaust myself and I didn’t have any trouble at all. I don’t remember exhaust going anywhere near the tow equipment. I don’t have that Jeep anymore otherwise I’d go look and try to deduce what could possibly be the concern.
@@leifclarke that’s fine. Thanks for the info 👍
Factory tow hooks
Would this void a warranty?
Jeannie Kemphfer No
When europeans hear Corsa:
en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Opel_Corsa xD
One of those videos you wish you'd never seen! Or heard in this case... Any difference with actual performance? I'm hoping you say no lol 🤞😉😂
I didn’t notice any performance change. When I first installed the exhaust I thought, ‘oh man, it’s too loud’. Then after awhile I realized I loved it and could never go back to stock.
GO COUGS!
How ths sound on idle and low rpm? I'm thinking to install one, but I'm afraid of the police 😅
How much is the corsa exhaust
About $1650 new
We lokke is reasignar frearr is damgerous smog
واووو
What trim is this??
Overland
Is it a whole exhaust system or just mufflers?
This is a cat-back system. Corsa part #14991.
Leif Clarke thanks man
wtf the stock v8 sound like a v6
Skodz Gaming sounds like a v8 to me
Those 5.7s tend to be very quiet stock. It can be quiet like a 4 cylinder. But i know they upgraded it in the dodge charger and challenger and now they sound great stock
That's what the stock mufflers do. Not everyone (almost no one) wants their SUV to sound like a muscle car.
@@JamesZeroSix not like a muscle car but more like a nice truck, deep monotone.
I actually like the stock one, It sounds like a V8 and it is not super annoying
don't waste
your money on this,be a good suv
Rolling Garbage. DO NOT BUY!!!!!!!
