Drake helped keep the Houston rap scene relevant when we fell off after the 2000s. Showing love to Houston rap legends and even working with some like Bun, Travis, etc. We got complacent and did nothing with the momentum from the 2000s and I've talked with local legends who can confirm this. Drake has always shut shit down in Houston. Like so many of our clubs during the 2010s blew up because Drake and James Harden were always in them. That stuff matters and it kept the city popping even when we were no longer making hot relevant music. Now Houston is the must go to spot for partying. That stuff matters more than people realize it. Luckily Travis, Megan, Mexican OT, Beat King and others came in after our dry spell....but yeah Drake has done enough for the city of Houston and Houston loves him which is why he sold out NRG during the Rodeo and why if you play November 18th in a Houston club it goes crazy. Kendrick called drake a colonizer for doing songs with several artist in Atlanta. Sauce is basically saying he's one for not. This is where that critique of drake gets confusing because what can he do without someone framing him in a bad light?
This is my exact point with these arguments. If these niggas want to get on and get hot there begging drake for the feature and once they get hot its oh that nigga never put me on it was all me and he stealing from the city. 90% of main stream artist from 09 up drake had a pivotal hand in there carrere at some point but instead of bigging him up they were jealous thsi whole time. Drake gave a lot of niggas number ones that would never had it on there on. Its funny how they and fans forget i guess its just fuck drake lol he even gave soulja a smash he was passing them out. I think he even gave Dot is first number one or atleast his first real look and for sure gave cole is first number one lol its like pick your posin do you want to get on get money and be mainstream or not lol.
Yeah it’s hard but I think he should be doing what he is doing with Atlanta artist in Houston because he lives there permanently for some years now if he is in America. Or better yet do it for Canadian rappers . Most of them Canadian rappers need it more .
@JanetAfi-gj9bk OK. But there's always the possibility that if those artist don't take off that he used them. Or they will always be in his shadow if literally no one cares about you but drake is on your song. Then the artist resent drake because what was intended to help had the opposite affect.
WROOOONG… Kendrick called him a colonizer because Drake uses the new hot artist or hot song to stay relevant. Notice most rap songs new artist featuring Drake are songs he asked to be on. Yall might not see it for what it is but Jay-Z is one of my idols and he did it as well. Only difference is Jay did it with his actual artist. Kendrick said “You called future when you didn’t see the club”… if you go back to when Drake first start collaborating with Future it was when Future first got hot. Drake jumped on Tony Montana remix, he had no actual club bangers at this time and future had multiple (same damn time, gone to the moon, Tony Montana, racks, & Magic) all those songs was going crazy in the clubs, Drake wanted in on that wave. If Future would have fell off, Drake would have stopped working with him a long time ago… Look at Bloccboy JB.. Drake probably don’t even remember who that nigga is, but when he came in the game with a hot song he wanted to get on there asap.. Kendrick point was Drake uses people for his sound and it benefits his career. That’s what a colonizer is, they go take over something for monetary gain…… Sauce Walka argument was that Drake was a culture vulture. You come to my city, soak up the lifestyle, steal our slang and put it in your songs, rap about our clubs, put our cars in your videos, talk like you from here, incorporate the signature sound of our local music scene in your music, make all this money from our culture and then once that wave runs dry, your on to the next culture like (Jamaican music or UK music) When the respectful thing to do would be to work with and our put together a show with some of these artists your stealing style from so they stock can go up as well. If you’re going to eat off of what we built then do it right and that way it’s received as paying homage, showing love and giving back to what helped create as an artist instead of stealing. What Sauce and Kendrick said might sound like similar arguments, but they’re not.
So collabs with Bun B, Travis Scott, Beyoncé, putting full screw up click tracks and features on his album, being connected to rap a lot and giving back to the community doesn’t count? It almost sounds like he wanted a feature.
@@MightyJoYung I know what’s up, but Drake really hasn’t taken any styles or culture from Houston. He has maybe 2-3 tracks that sample houston’s iconic artist to pay homage and he mentions Houston a lot but he’s never actually taken Houston’s sound. If there’s a problem with Drakes attachment to the city he should go at the prince family not Drake… they gave him the pass 🤷🏾♂️. Bro really be showing love to the city.

@@tjtoodeep you’re right it’s a difficult situation when you’re the top guy . Everyone wants something from you.
That’s what a colonizer is, they go take over something for monetary gain……
Sauce Walka argument was that Drake was a culture vulture.
He speaking facts its allot of uk rappers collaborating with us rappers
Calcalatetly 😂😂
Lmfao
Sauce got sense!!💯💯💯
So collabs with Bun B, Travis Scott, Beyoncé, putting full screw up click tracks and features on his album, being connected to rap a lot and giving back to the community doesn’t count? It almost sounds like he wanted a feature.
@@Iamromewest it does sound like that, especially if you don’t know what’s up 🙃.

I Don't watch Ak unless it's Drake and Kendrick related, but Wack 2 Wack was calling out Arbys culture vulturing ways waaaaaay back and I fukk with Walka super heavy
Was confused when I saw him chopping it up with Arby on social media a couple a months before the Dot/Arby beef started, so had to watch this to see his thought process...
So it was Auby who reached out and invited HIM smh
Once again "thE boY" going out like a full broad AGAIN, still wanting to be cool with folks who don't respect him as an actual man, just like when he kept reaching out to Dot smh
He thinks he's on some "keep your friends close, and enemies closer" mastermind shyt... but he's just being naive
Only difference between Dot and Sauce is cool with pimping him just like the broad he is
it's just words 🙄

Sauce be Talkin that shit foreal callin out all bullshit
Ok I need a Sauce Walka x Joe Budden interview now because the goal post moving and over talking changing points for confusion between the two of them would be top tier. That’s a challenge I need to see.
Finally y’all gotta respect sauce 🔥🔥🔥
Drake did records with bun b in 2009……
Bun not from Houston and bun a old nigga now bro
Bun b from port Arthur and was already an established artist
@@mrwest09 he reps Houston hard and really the responsibility is on the people that brought Drake into Houston, not Drake.

Sauce absolutely 100% right in regards to Drake calculating who he does features with in regards to upcoming artist to stay relevant and hop on waves....... quid pro quo
That’s the most entitled shit I ever heard

When poor people get on the rich fat maafaka it's entitlement? Huh....
