- Melissa Etheridge performed “This War Is Over” on the 28th installment of her daily #StayHome mini-concert series. This is one of the few songs by her that I never really got into. However, today I gained a new appreciation for it. Very beautiful!

My older daughter is named Melissa as a nod to Melissa Etheridge. That was years before I heard this song. I can't even think about this one without tears. When will my war be over?

Just watched The devil's own for the third time in 23 years.
A fillip to rekindle the memories of the thousands of brave fighters who gave their lives for the sake of freedom. One does not need to have personally suffered this to appreciate it. One only needs to observe and take it in.
Melissa Etheridge's "this war is over" has long since become many people's choice of dirge as that is how they want to be remembered.
Devil's own may have been underappreciated and passed into oblivion, but Melissa's song speaks to us through the mists of time every once in a while.
