Sissens is so solid and has such a nuanced dramatic understanding of his roles I could watch him as anything! I'm so glad to see Morera in action as a coach - her understanding of Macmillan's works is absolutely precious!
Yasmin, Will, Joe, all beautiful and even surprised they haven't debuted those main rolles yet, which absolutely they deserve. At the same time, how admiring that Laura’s movement is still so elegant and silky smooth...
Her movement is of course still gorgeous, would have love to see her guesting in Manon and other productions at the ROH and elsewhere. She's still a fabulous dancer.
Joe is definitely gonna be a great Lescaut! Low key, I wish Yasmine and William were gonna be doing the cinema relay, but at the same time, when you're doing a lead role for the first time, best to just have the eyes of the audience inside the opera house and not the eyes of a kajillion people worldwide judge your performance. Laura has made such a smooth transition from dancer to coach. I learned so much about Manon that I haven't before thanks to what she said about each piece that was rehearsed tonight.
Their joint debut on the 20th is going to be a very special occasion- perhaps even THE performance of the run. I can't remember there being such anticipation for a Manon debut in decades...I just can't wait for this show and I wish Yasmine & Will all the best. ❤❤❤
I saw their second performance on Saturday. It was the most moving, beautiful yet harrowing Manon I have ever seen. Both were remarkable but William is so lyrical. His solo In act 1 was yearning, a poem to love. Their spin lifts in Act 3 unbelievable! Marvellous. Particularly after The matinee performance on the same day which despite the star performer just did not work (for me at all) Thank you Yasmine and Will for something so wonderful, and thank you Laura for the coaching.
the guts to keep hyping up Hayward's Manon for YEARS, making interviews about it, using her in the thumbnails and all that, yet refusing to show her in any insight, rehearsal or cinema relay...is this a punishment of some sort? T_T
Perhaps the dancers have some say in their participation in these insight streams? It may be uncomfortable for some dancers to work this way. I'm not sure Francesca is often in the world ballet day company class either. She isn't owned by the company to trot out at their whim but she is probably the most recognisable outside the ballet world because of Cats, which might explain her image being used in publicity campaigns.
It's my humble opinion but I found some stiffness in William's body language (something very unusual in him). At the same time, for my taste,Yasmine has almost always the same facial expressions in every role.
personally i think laura quickly solidified herself as one of the most 1 relatable 2 understandable and 3 inspirational coaches at royal by both dancer and audience member alike 🩷❣️
I absolutely love Laura, it’s so good to see her, it doesn’t matter if it is as a dancer or coach.
Great to see Laura again! ❤❤

Laurais one of the best regarding expressing conversation and emotion in dance and she translates that acuity as a coach perfectly.

I'd love to see her in at least some character roles!
Laura is genius!
I saw Will and Yasmin debut on the 21st Jan 24 in the leading roles they were rehearsing in this clip. They were phenomenal and more : > )

It’s Natalia Osipova on the cinema relay, which is still exciting!
Definitely! I'm desperate to see Natalia in this, she's my absolute favourite. The veterans do get cinema relays for a reason!
Can't wait to see Joseph as Lescaut!
Lovely to see Yasmine’s development over the last few years. Her extension in particular! WOW. Excellent work.
Those videos makes you want to be part of it !! ❤

I think the dancers participate in insights on a voluntary basis as it’s additional work outside of their core hours. But I could be wrong

The Pas De Deux’s are gorgeous but overall the ballet is far too long.
