Hi Lisa. I watch a lot of podcasts and have just stumbled onto yours and found it to be one of the best I’ve watched. I loved every one of your patterns and yarn choices, as well as the interesting suggestions on books and knitting related bits and bobs! Have a good break and I’ll really look forward to your next one.
Another enjoyable podcast Lisa, I finished a sock while watching! Your Misurina is gorgeous as is the new silk mohair you’re carrying in your shop…those colors are stunning. Enjoy your vacation away…don’t forget your sunblock ☀️
Enjoy your holiday. The Stripes book is great. I knitted the Maire dress and it is so good to wear. I used Manos Del Uruguay from stash. Allegria Grande
I so agree with you about gauge ,it’s a nightmare and the more I read about it the more confused I feel. They can put a man on the moon so why can’t gauge be made simple.enjoy your trip, Sheila
Wow, what a lovely surprise. I was wondering if you were about due to podcast. You have been busy even though you were unwell and it looks like you are setting yourself up to keep busy. I wanted to let you know that I absolutely enjoy using my new ChiaoGoo interchangeable needles, they are really kind to my hands and once they are connected, they stay connected. I can understand why they are so popular. I hope that you both have a restful break and I am looking forward to hearing about all your exciting adventures while you are away. Travel well. Stay well, safe and take care. See you next podcast.
Thank you and i'm so glad you are enjoying your Chiaogoo set. Im planning a very relaxed time away with no real adventures. just sun, swimming, books and a bit of knitting.
Hi Lisa, Thanks for the juicy, info filled episode! Im heading straight to kmart tomorrow to get some of those kids mats to use for blocking, what a great Idea. Im also going to check out the book shop you mentioned. Have a great holiday :)
Wonderful podcast again Lisa - always enjoy your content and the shop update. Have a great holiday and look forward to hearing all about it on your return - regards Kathie 🌸
Lovely podcast Lisa, loved it. Since listening to you re the Chiagoo needles I decided to give them a try. Wow, love, love, love. Changes the knitting experience ,to pure joy. Didn't think I would ever go that far with a reference but these are seriously good, for me anyway. Ooohh the kidsilk mohair looks divine and will look at that in the future, beautiful colours. Have a wonderful holiday.
Lovely podcast again Lisa. Great listening while I’m hand-winding self-striping yarn 😉 I bought the Stripes book a couple of months ago and it’s a goodie! I also have a Lovenote knitted in The Kindly Dyer colourway you’re going to use for the colourwork. It really is beautiful. Feels like we’re on the same wavelength! 😄
Re the Super Simple summer Sweater - while my 2 favourite go-to patterns are by joji Locatelli, i simply don't get doing a summer garment in such heavy wool! Good score at the spinners and weavers! they had a pop-up shop in town (Masterton) last month, and I scored a pair of hand knit socks, I don't knit socks myself. Enjoyed episode 44, all sorts of content, including the Minerva Bookshop, I may have to take the train down for a visit!
I agree DK is a bit too warm for me, although i'm sure there would be a use for it for cold evenings. I hope you get to visit the book shop, it was a real treat.
Lisa, you should be fine on metal needles for wool and silk blend yarn in stockinette, but definitely use your bamboo needles for the alpaca linen blend, worth the effort, soo drapey (I have a project on the needles dyed by an Aussie dyer). Your botanically dyed wool also looks like it will be a dream to knit.
Thanks for another great podcast.love all your projects and future knitting plans. I also prefer German short rows. You've convinced me to try spincycle sometime for colourwork- probably an Alpine bloom tee.😊. Happy holidays.
Hi Lisa, just a question about wet blocking, doesn’t the hot water shrink the yarn? You wouldn’t soak the actual garment in hot water, would you? Love your podcasts.
Hi Sandy, yes very hot water. But don't handle the garment, just let it rest and cool down over a couple of hours. It's the agitation that will make the yarn felt and shrink. Also taking it from hot to cold suddenly will also cause shrinking for felting. The hot water will allow the yarn to relax and remove any spinning oils that may still be in the yarn. I was cautious the first few times i did it but it works. I will discuss this topic on my next podcast.
Bagging the cheap shops helps noone and doesnt sound good. You purchased the mats from the cheap shop. why when you could have paid $35 for the REAL ones. No personality..really
Sorry, I didn't mean to offend you, I was only pointing out that they are available in the large bargain stores so no need to spend a lot of money on them. I only paid around $10 for my set.
What podcast were you watching? Lisa certainly didn't 'bag' the cheap shops - if anything, she was supporting them - and as she points out, she was just explaining that you don't have to spend a lot of money on them. Why would you pay $35 if you can get them for $10?

It always good to have a plan, maybe next year.

great minds think alike.
I went to Rarotonga and it was hot. I found I could continue to knit by putting the knitting on the table in front of me. I hope you enjoy your time.
Sounds great! I know there will be lots of air conditioned places for me to find a quiet and cool place to knit.

I love the Magnolia too! I think I will make the Bloom with the pattern on the top
Of the cardi. Will you pair mohair with yours?
I think i will do mine in the DK super twist, no mohair.

Hi Lisa, what brand are the colors on the shelf right behind you please?
They are the Jamieson & Smith Shetland wool.
Lisa could you write down the recommended needle size and length of cords for socks. I keep missing the info. Thanks.
if you want to do magic loop, i use fixed cable 100cm length in a 2.25mm or 2.5mm depends on your gauge.
@@UnwindandKnitwithMe thank you. I’ve knitted one pair using magic loop and then my Labrador ate them.
Could you please put up Donna’s podcast can’t find it
The podcast is called Blind and Knitting.
Love all the yarn, I want to knit everything after your podcast. Have a wonderful holiday and a good rest.
That's great, thank you
thank you

I didn’t hear Lisa bagging the cheap shop at all in fact I thought She was very pro buying from them!
