It's just a fantastic app. I've had my spine fused and this is the best mod to my shack to be able to comfortably operate without leaning up to the radio. I also use Linux in the shack, not because I'm terribly tech-savvy, but because I'm contrary and don't want to depend on Linux. WF VIEW is the only app involving rig control that I can't seem to break. Almost no matter what I do, it still reliably controls my 7300.
You just made my day! I’m glad you’re enjoying it. Keep your eyes peeled for version 2 (you can install it and preview it under Linux using our build script with “creator-widgets” as the argument). 73 and thanks!!!
@@W6EL excellent! I'll be glad to try it. I've read that other hams are having good luck with connecting through wfview via WiFi and leaving the serial connection for other apps. I am going to make that a mission before the grill fires up today!
Still have problems connecting fldigi to wfview and my ic705. Wfvuiw water fall and graph will stop working. Change frequency from wfview to the radio OK, fldigi does not change.
@@melissarainchild Hi, unfortunately the 897 does not speak Icom CI-V, nor does it provide the spectrum data (if it does, please let me know and maybe we will eventually add it). 73!
wfview cannot, but other software can definitely work with wfview to do it. In this video you just watched, I set up OBS to capture mic audio to one audio track and wfview's audio on another. I did a similar trick with the RS-44 satellite video on my channel to capture a QSO and my own audio direct: ua-cam.com/video/D40NRUUs2Qs/v-deo.html
The connection to the rig is about the same as previous versions. Check the getting started guide: wfview.org/wfview-user-manual/getting-started/ --E de W6EL
The full set of features works on modern Icom transceivers such as the IC-9700, IC-7850, IC-7610, IC-7300, IC-705, and IC-R8600. Older model Icoms also work although with fewer features. See wfview.org/ for more information.

Can it work with a Yaesu 897 as well?

@@W6EL Thank you very much. Best of luck with this great tool...73's!
Is there a way to name the frequency memory’s?
Unfortunately not at this time. But we may dive into that later. Memory is a tricky function and we want to redo it at some point.
Can wfview record qso?
