One of the things I really appreciate about you JP is the diversity of music you listen to. It just makes this channel a great place to check out. Thanks for all the brilliant music from this year and looking forward both the mystery albums and to lots of great choices in 2025. Cheers.
@ I have given it one listen and enjoy the singles especially Cognitive Dissident. Need to get back to it. I saw the 2018 tour, there were so many people on tour this fall couldn’t fit this one into my budget.
@@Kevvinm Yes I was at that one too. The Comeback Tour. This one had the 1st set with entire new record and 2nd set with a great selection from the past. It seemed like two different bands.
Well it doesn't get more Kristmassy than Tchaikovsky, so I'd say the classical piece will be The Nutcracker. You've gotta have a bit of ballet at Krissy, I've seen it a few times, well worth a watch.
Everybody is in such a hurry for the year to wrap up. This video was published in November, as if the year only has 11 months. Personally speaking, I'm in no rush for the year to end.
Oh, wow, thanks for the shoutout! Much appreciated! :) And you kinda scared me with the title. I thought you had had enough of YT and its copyright bots that you were ending the channel. Thank God, that was not the case! :D Really looking forward to the videos. Sounds amazing!
Wow, you said I recommended the Dec 7th pick, but I can't guess it. Just have to see. As for Xmas music, some of my absolute favorite Xmas albums are Andreas Vollenweider's Midnight Clear, especially Over the Hills and Over the Vale - Sting's If on a Winter's Night..., especially Soul Cake and There is No Rose of Such Virtue - George Winston's December, especially Joy and Variations on the Kanon by Pachelbel - and Chris Squire's Swiss Choir, especially Adam Lay Ybounden, Gaudete, and ESPECIALLY Past 3 O'Clock. Try some of those tracks!
@@robertgyurjan4607 Yes, I know, but JMJ has always pissed me off with his cheap electronic music! I've always preferred electronica stuff like Tangerine Dream, Kraftwerk, Eno, Ashra, Steve Roach or more recent stuff like Zombi, Ulrich Schnauss....
Well, keep in mind, it could actually be Kraftwerk; Electronic Cafe fits the description perfectly. I guess we'll find out on the day. But personally I would be very positive about Rendez-Vous, and if not in December then hopefully sometime soon. Its 15+ months since JMJ last featured on the channel. [Edit - a.k.1740 correctly pointed out on another comment that Electronic Cafe was Kraftwerk's 9th, not 8th. So apologies, I mis-counted. Curiously, Wikipedia lists Rendez Vous as Jarre's 7th studio album, because it lists Granges Brulees instead as a soundtrack? But I've got to be honest, I think its JMJ on 14th, and if so then I'm very much looking forward to it.]
Headline threw me...Whew!...Thank goodness JP 😁....Btw, I understand by now that you sometimes like reminders of things to react to , stuff that has been mentioned by a watcher many times, and I fully understand you have tons on.. ..Haven't seen you have another look at the punk/new wave stuuf from the UK, c'77-79' for a while...So my lil gentle reminder is The Motors 'Dancing The Night Away' (album version)..again!....I wouldn't dare say 'You'll like it' but ,personally, although I wasn't into this stuff when it came out, it was John Peel's No.1 single of the year it came out..2nd btw...you are the closest I can find to Peel's sensibility about music that I can find on yt and have been subbed for a while now..Closest I find on UK radio is the excellent Gideon Coe on BBC 6 Music,... keep up the good work sir, you are so eclectic and consistent, congrats 👍
WOW! I'm STOKED - almost ALL 80s even if I have no clue what those albums are. LOL! Sounds like there will be SOMETHING in there for me. Happy Thanksgiving!! Plus a Christmas Eve AND DAY! NICE.
As for the debut album released in 1983 by this mysterious band, I'm leaning towards The Hurting by Tears for Fears (if that's what it is, then I'm all for it!).😉 I have no idea about the rest....
@@robertgyurjan4607 👍I agree! The only Tears for Fears album I like in its entirety (although "Suffer the Children" is the track I'm least enthusiastic about). I only like a handful of tracks on Songs from the Big Chair and then I lost interest in the band.
@@a.k.1740 The album version of Suffer the Children was I think a remix. There was a single version, listed as "the original version" on UA-cam, which I've always much preferred. Your mileage may vary of course...
@@JohnWhipp No, the album version of "Suffer the Children" was a new recording (as was "Pale Shelter", which had a different single and album version). As for the remix of "Suffer the Children", it is on the 12" released in late 81. Anyway I am not fond of this song in its different versions, mainly because the 'la la la la la' (supposed to be sung by children when it is Roland Orzabal's wife in the backing vocals) have always annoyed me.
I have no idea what the mystery albums might be. And that's good. No point in mystery if it's not mysterious, nê? I hope it's also the season of Xmas Death Jazz, for all those who either don't want traditional Xmas songs, or who positively want a bit more death jazz in their lives. (With a bit of Metall dabei.) And there's still hope for Fairy Mary Mag? At the risk of these being spoilers, it has a cool cat on the drums, a real babe on the piano (with a cat chorus, so more cool cats), in addition to being subtitulado, and having the dancing baby to end all dancing babies, as aforesaid, wherefore in these premises it is submitted that the song is a fair enough Christmas season choice. I checked and see we're not going to have the Xmas cheer of the Devils Gate opening on us, which is fair enough. You might also not find it there under the band's Australian name, too. When they went to America they had to change their name to Angel City for legal reasons (or maybe some meaning given to "The Angels" in America that nobody uses in Australia). Either way, not really a good Christmas song. Easter maybe? (All the hell stuff goes quite well with Easter, I think? A sort of counterpoint to the message of that season.)
I expected "Bang" by Frankie goes to Hollywood. Can you make a reaction to the album "No more shall we part" by Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds? It's a banger, lyrically.
Idea Get exotic lightfish fish tank videos with dark background. Dim light...... use very large screen in the background and many many tiny tiny tiny lightfishs shoaling and schooling constantly.
Hi Justin! I think I have guessed one of the artists from your hints, but not too clear on any of the others. I will, of course, try to give everything that comes up a fair listen if I can. Please can I suggest a UA-cam video for my Christmas recommendation: Goodbye England(Covered in Snow) Laura Marling with 12Ensemble @ Royal Albert Hall 2020 (Memi04) - This is a great live version of the song that you listened to on the channel two years ago. I have been reluctant to suggest this before, fearing it might get blocked, however, British UA-camr, Harri Best reacted to this clip earlier this year without any trouble. So I hope for the best! Many thanks for a great year of reactions and reviews!
Justin pointed out that this was the artist's eighth album, and Electric Café was their ninth, so unfortunately it's not Kraftwerk but Jean-Michel Jarre!😒🤕
haven't seen yr channel for some months and here it is again. Suddenly I thought - why did you never pay attention to Julian Casablancas' Human madness or Strokes' Abnormal.....
