I had no idea the cheap ones would be this accurate. I would like to see a video (or short) of you blindly turning a breaker bar and guessing when you got to 20/50/80 in-lbs just to see how close you could get. You already have an advantage, you basically just calibrated your arms for the feeling of those torques.
I have had the eTork wrench you tested and the 3/8 drive 50-250 inch pounds wrench eTork makes for a little over 2 years. I use them to torque electrical lugs and they have done well. It was nice to see I gambled on buying the 100 ft lbs wrench and won lol. Hopefully the eTork 3/8 drive inch lbs wrench is just as accurate as I use it twice as much.
I wish more brands would offer the low range that the Pittsburgh does. Sometimes I just don't like using a little 1/4 torque wrench completely maxed out. I know the 1/4 mechanism is probably good for 50 ft lbs, but the leverage is a huge deal for me
Pretty good set of results across the board. Interesting that the Amazon Basics wrench goes out of cal in its mid-range, but is okay either side of that. I wonder who actually makes it for them, it is pretty close in style to the Pittsburg.
Yeah the amazon basic acts really weird, you can cycle it a few more times and its within range then its back out again. Yeah I would think they are made by the same company as well, but I will say the quality on the Amazon is really poor other then the ratchet head. It's extremely hard to adjust at the top end.
I’m actually glad to see the Pittsburgh do well because it’s the only one that goes down to 5 foot pounds. The lowest torque on the other brands could possibly destroy a gasket on a valve cover or oil pan. Even transmission pan bolts are usually torqued to about 9 foot pounds.
Thanks! It's on the list, I would consider it as high quality. CDI I is basically Snap-on, CDI is owned by and manufactures torque wrenches for Snap On Brand. Digital torque wrenches will be next. Then probably the CDI, 120xp Gearwrench, Hazet
If i just wanted one torque wrench for suspension and maintenance and lug nuts would the pittsburgh pro or the icon split beam be better option ? I just want one and be done with it for my diy work

Yeah I was surprised. Lol yeah that would be interesting to see how close I could get to the desired torque.

Nice, yeah I like it brings the best of both, clime with a digital read out. I’m hoping to test the 3/8 in a few months but I’m sure it’s accurate.
Excellent video! Thanks for your hard work!
No problem! Glad it helped!
Oh how did I miss this vid! Thank you so much dude!!
Have you considered a Patreon? I'd be happy to throw a dollar or two your way every month, if it helps you keep making this invaluable content.
I have thought about it, I just need to spend sometime and look at setting one up. Thanks!

Yep the more leverage the better in my book, I hope to do 3/8 In-Lbs wrenches in a few months.
Great video, would be cool to see you do some digital torque adapters in the future.
Thanks!, I did the Quinn and Acdelco in 1/2 a while back. I hope to do 3/8 in a few months.

He mentions that they are each made in a different country. I believe Amazon was Chinna while Pittsburg was vietnam?
I would like to see the Lexivon, Kobalt and EpAuto 3/8 tested.
The lowest setting on the etork is too high for my needs.
Hopefully in a few months!

Who torques valve cover bolts or transmission pan bolts? 😂
Always good info. I know you’ve done the high mid and lower quality ones but haven’t seen you test CDI. would you consider these mid quality

I just found this video.
If only the Pittsburgh wasn’t so awful to use.
