- Kyle Larson wins the closest finish in NASCAR history. I thought Buescher got it until I saw the replay. When they crossed the line the scoring pylon still had the number 17 in first.
As an NHRA straight line fan, plus roundy round Nascar fan,
.001 is, as Kyle said in post race interviews, about 3 inches! Or (my words) an index finger!! They were going all '79 Daytona 500 for a sec, bumping but then not spinning each other! Wow, how exciting that was! Must have been awful for Chris Buescher and RFK, but, oh so sweet for Nascar timing and scoring to go all Kentucky Derby with a 'won by a nose' finish!! I was screaming at the top of my 69 yr old lungs!! Great post!
(Albeit, brief!)
Bet it was crazy being there!! So lucky! But, I did see Dale Sr win the Sonoma Save-Mart 350 in '94!
Earnhardt won Sonoma in 95
I was there too! Was my wife and I's first NASCAR race!
Man Larson drove it and never gave up. He’s got a really fast car.
What an epic finish!!!! HELL YEAH YUNG MONEY LETS GOOOOO!!!!!
