    "NO cutting" in origami means that once you have your square(s) of paper there is no further cutting.

    Cool video jeremy. Keep up. I think you can make a habd/Finger fidget spinner. For the bearing use the idea from your ninja foursided spinning star. you know, the one that spins on the table. Good luck. I know you can do it.👍

    Jeremy can you possibly make an origami series on how you come up with your models and how to design your own?

  • @herbertcoleman9776
    @herbertcoleman9776 7 років тому

    Excellent!! Just curious as to why you went with a staple instead of a paper clip? I get that the staple is smaller, thinner and easier to bend, it just seems like a paperclip would have been more sturdy I'll be testing it out on mine.

    • @herbertcoleman9776
      @herbertcoleman9776 7 років тому

      Tried it with small paper clip and works great and nor danger of getting stuck with a sharp point.

    • @jeremyshaferorigami
      @jeremyshaferorigami  6 місяців тому

      replying 6 years later... I chose a staple instead of a paperclip because I wanted the clip to be hidden. A paperclip would be too big and visible.

    • @jeremyshaferorigami

      Thanks Myster Monkey. The cheapest origami paper is printer paper cut square and colored by hand. You can use crayons, water color or my favorite... acrylic paint. But if you want Japanese origami paper, I recommend ebay or amazon for that.

    Unbelievable Jeremy shafer coooooooooool I was finding this type of origami fidget spinner u r the best but I am not getting six inch square kami, I want to make it please tell me where can I find it , how do u get these cool ideas ??

    • @jeremyshaferorigami
      @jeremyshaferorigami  7 років тому +1

      Thanks. You can just cut a sheet of printer paper into a 6-inch square and then cut another 6-inch square into four 3-inch squares. Or you can use smaller paper. You can use a 4-inch square for the middle and then four 2-inch squares for the blades. That way you won't need to shorten the blades.

    This was my compromise between wanting to stick to pure origami and wanting it to look and act like a "real" fidget spinner. In other DIY fidget spinner videos, I see all the piercing, cutting, gluing, rods, sheaths, beads, bearings and molds...............and suddenly the little staple in the middle of my model doesn't seem like such a big a deal. But it's not ideal, and I'm still exploring other more pure avenues, but this is the most "real" one I've come up with so far.

      JeremyShaferOrigami True. Jeremy, I have been watching your channel for over 2 years! I love making origami models. It felt like it fit with my style. In school, we had to make anything we wanted out of homemade/recyclable objects for a project. It was called "Invention Convention." I ended up making things I truly love to make. Origami models. My class gasped as I showed them my origami Items. They all loved them. If it weren't for you, I wouldn't have made your awesome origami models. You inspire me to create my own origami models and be creative in the future. I wish the best of luck for you in the future, my friend!
