When going out to eat/drink, do drinks come with ICE?... If so, is the ice made with water that's safe to drink? When not at a tourist trap, is "tipping" considered rude or expected?

Apparently James (?) your lifestyle suits you and is customized to your liking ? --- Others there in Siem Reap are happy with less and a few with much less from what I have heard. -?- All of you appear "content" with how your living -- but in the words of Dave -- in answer to the question - if you can live in Cambodia on $1000/mo. (?) - he answers - " you can 'and' you will - if you have to" !!! -- He also recently did a video on the question he's asked the most - is - "can I live in Siem Reap on my $800 SS check" - income ? = That is likely homeless in Biden's America these days ! -- He explains at length on how it is 'possible' - but also that you may not want to. But you can survive if need be and not be homeless or hungry ! --- The 'average' US - SS check in 2024 is $1800/mo. Max is $4873 if you wait until 70 years old to collect it. Perhaps the $800 is lowest ? --- I'm alone on $1500+ and have been told I could live in SR pretty much however I would want to - ? Not great in the US. I also hear the Philippines can provide a decent life for that amount. --- All the best James

If you aren't near good healthcare can it really be considered luxury living? I guess it depends on the individual. For some people it would be too much worry and stress. I consider that necessary and basic infrastructure much less a luxury. I realize not everybody's in the situation where that's a real concern though.

@@jamesncooper okay well that changes things. I'm sure it's a good hospital but the star system for hospitals sounds hokey. I do not think Thai hospitals are hokey though. Either way, that's good to know.
I totally disagree with you on the motorcycle recommendation, a vehicle is far safer, many friends have been killed on motorcycles in SE Asia, why risk your life to save a few $$$??
