That kid punted a safety.
Al Michaels: He did what?!
@@suds5214 ??? he kicked the ball and it went back into his own endzone how would that be a touchback?
@@suds5214 Nope. Last "new force" was by the offense and it went out their own end zone. That's a safety. It would only be a touchback if the defense had done something to force it out of the offense's end zone.
@@suds5214 if it was a touchback that means the punting team would have possession at their 20 again wouldn't they? So every team that ever has to punt should just punt it into their own end zone 😂
Yep, that is a safety.
Good thing it appears to have been an All-Star Game.
Wow, those boards at the soccer game could have been real bad. The sand tornado was pretty incredible. Those cyclists looked like they were going through the gauntlet. Was fun to watch. Great video
funny how he faked being hurt after not being hit by the board. I don't think he gets a free kick for that. lol unless its and it has the other teams name on it maybe. 🤔
I had to look up an article about the soccer windy incident. It happened in 2007 in South Africa, and luckily no one was seriously injured but one player needed to be stretchered off. Crazy thing is they kept playing for a while after that lol
The Whoop call by Chris Berman still cracks me up 😂.
Those bikers and that golf cart lol
This is actually the Dutch Headwind Cycling Championships, held every year during force 7 (30kt) winds or higher.
What's so funny about it? No one got blown into each other. The golf cart didn't run over any bikers or vice versa
@@georgefloydspaceshuttlepro1839 thank you for your input, George Floyd Space Shuttle Program lol
bruh 2:30 dude just casually walking through a tornado like it’s nothing
How confidently the guy at the end said "That's gotta be a touchback" as if every team wouldn't just punt the ball backwards if it was a touchback lol
0:33 I'm actually impressed at how much the kicker tried to correct for the wind!
I went to that game, it was my second ever Bills game and the whole day was wild. They had to stop the game to fix the goal posts because they became so badly angled. Later when we left a plastic garbage bin slammed into the car in front of us, the fucker sailed across the parking lot. Crazy day all the way around
God I miss the Not Top 10 and the Old Sportscenter format
Used to watch that sportscenter every morning before school. miss it a lot!
Bro those winds are insane..
Players: We are going to make a play
Wind: Nope.
its super funny how the soccer player faked being hurt even when he wasn't hit by the flying board. lol
Thank god for the Bears kicking a field goal even though they probably knew it wasn't going to be good, but doing it anyway because everyone wanted to see it
Always pick mother nature to play FOR your team. Best team mate ever!
I was in the stands in 1981 watching the USC Trojans play my University of Washington Huskies in 75 mph wind gusts. I never saw a game where the weather was a bigger factor.
Disc golf wind clips are the best
The kick is up and it's...
WHOOOOOOOOOOOOOP!!
Big WHOOP moments
That bike race seemed fit for a Bennny HIll skit.
Man this blows! (Great video, btw!)
Wild. Absolutely wild.
Some of these games 100% should have been called for a Delay of Game.
@ 3:01 it was a shirt, thought it was the guy gettinf sucked into the air😂
Didn’t expect to hear an AFX deep cut in this video
are we just not gonna talk about the gigachad at 2:33 you just stands in the dust devil
That orange soccer team celebrating that goal like that... that was ridiculous. You just go lineup for a kickoff there, no celebrating.
More like you go take your corner kick - it doesnt count as a goal unless someone else besides the goalie touched it first.
A shame you don’t have Billy Williams of the Cubs catching what normally would have been an easy home run for Hank Aaron in 1969. The wind was blowing in like crazy at Wrigley Field that day.
That was Ken Holtzman's first no-hitter, right? Cubs won 3-0 on Ron Santo's 3-run homer in the first. Holtzman's no-hitter had the unusual feature of having no strikeouts.
The soccer players didn’t really get hit by the flying ad signs. They just hit the deck because they’re used to doing that when anyone approaches them fast, hoping to draw a foul😂
2:15 Damn, I thought the thumbnail was lying XD
4:40 that’s my high school😂
That kicker who punted a safety had a bad day. It happens. Ray Guy had an 8 yard punt during a game. He is in the NFL HOF. We all had bad days.
“What is that, a safety?” “That’s gonna be a touchback” (and was wrong) “Hits at about the 10 yard line” “actually it bounces of the 8” I’d rock that dude, I hope he doesn’t even get to commentate his dog taking a shit.
2:52 looked like something from Final Destination
Those people on the Bikes were amazing. That had to be so hard to keep pedaling.
If the lake/ocean in the background hadn't provided a reference I'd have wondered if they were actually going uphill with the camera tilted, but no, the wind is really that bad.
I'm surprised the soccer players needed to get hit with the signs to fall down, usually if someone in the crowd coughs wrong, it's enough to take them out.
2:35 I thought that was a person not a shirt or coat
0:50 It seems to be the dutch championship of cycling into the wind. It's actually the purpose of the wind to stop the people cycling.
Good vid 👍
I was at a high school football game on a gusty day. The quarterback lofted a pass, the wind caught it and it went backwards.
what do you call a goal kick that gets picked up by the wind and taken directly into their own goal? a corner kick
Correct. I was sitting here wondering why everyone was celebrating. This has happened in a game I refereed. The players all cheered and ran back to line up for a kickoff, but me and my AR were on it, just casually pointing toward the corner. It was a funny moment for high-school kids, so nobody got penalized for delaying the restart of play.
This needs disc golf highlights, because those windy moments are insane!
Chicago should be inside stadium
Never ensemate the weather, sometimes weather just wants to help the other team for some reason
Soccer would be more interesting with flying boards
Orange team celebrating was their first goal of the season
The soccer field just attacked the players
What high school football game has a full on broadcast like the last clip
Now I need to see the tour de France with 40 mph winds The first half will be headwind the second half will be tailwind
Wind interferes every time I take a shot in basketball, even indoors.
1:23 wtf was that noise?
Some of those are just stupid. I'm really not someone who minds playing sports under bad weather conditions and I've played soccer during extreme rain and snow, but when the weather conditions make it almost impossible to have a normal game, I think games should be postponed.
The 2 soccer clips where it shows the goal kick being pushed back into the goal isn't actually a goal. A corner kick is awarded to the opposing team. Them the laws of the game.
@ 2:30 I thought that debre was a person
3:35
If you get a point because the wind blew it back in the goal. You have no reason to be celebrating. You didn't do jack shit.
Especially because you cant own-goal off a goal kick...if they counted it as a goal, those refs have no idea what theyre doing.
Wheres numerical
Thumbnail was true in a way
yeah, I know people will call it clickbait because that very play wasn't in the video, but a play very similar to it was and that clip happened to not make very good thumbnail material, so this was the best work-around.
Schwindy
So you mean to say that a high-school football team can beat an NFL team if the wind is against them?
The punt from the end zone should have been scored a touchback. The ball did not go over the endline, it went out at the sideline.
Why would that be different? Isn't out of bounce still out of bounce regardless?
@@catman-du8927 Yeah, if it went out of bounds on the sideline it wouldn't be a touchback it would be out of bound for example at the 7 yard line not a touchback.
@@joemckim1183 Oooohhh I misunderstood what was said. I thought it meant there was a difference between the out of bounds on the sides of the end zone & the back of it. My bad. Sorry
Doesn't matter _how_ the ball goes out of bounds, it only matters _who_ supplied the last new force on the ball before it went out of bounds. Kicking team was the last team to supply such a force, and it went out their own end zone, therefore it's a safety. It would only be a touchback if the receiving team had attempted to recover, and in the process caused the ball to go out of bounds in the end zone. Which wasn't the case here.
Over the sideline, over the end line... doesn't matter. It only matters that the ball went out of bounds in the kicking team's end zone when the kicking team was the last team who supplied a new force to the ball.
One more reasons soccer is a joke.
Very nice, but no Immaculate Deflection? Gotta drop you from an A to a B.
Soccer players flop to much be a man a take a hit and get up. If I can do it at 15 you can do it as a pro
Tbh, in the case of Football and Soccer, if the wind is too much, the games should have been postponed until the wind has died down. For this reason, it would simply give the opposing team an advantage while the other would struggle to score against the wind.
that’s why in american football they change directions each quarter
