    Idk about the pedal but this made me want to get my Epi Les Paul fixed- I miss it. I loaned to my nephew- never again. First, I noticed it was horribly out of intonation and the pickup heights weren't right. Tried to intonate it and realized the little inserts that sit in the bridge are screwed up. Then I noticed one of the pole screws on the neck pickup is stripped out- it's just sitting in the hole and spins in place- won't raise when you turn it. Then I noticed every time I adjust the vol. on the neck pup I get static, and it cuts out- and the toggle switch seems to be the same way- and it sounds super dark and weak. It's 20 years old though- been one helluva good guitar. It's an Epi LP standard, cherry burst, w/ a highly figured, book matched, maple front and an ebony fingerboard- just over 20 years old. Looks like new to, one ding on the back but it's hard to see. I have to get it fixed- new guts- pups, switch, pots, input jack. And the bridge inserts probably need replacing- might just replace the whole bridge- if I can find something better.

    Great playing in this video!
    Also, it’s funny how Bluesbreaker based pedals like the KOT or the morning glory are considered natural/transparent when the OG pedal was designed to the opposite: an amp in a box. I like the sound of them all, regardless!

    • @nicholsonfile
      @nicholsonfile Рік тому +3

      I apologize for nitpicking, but "transparent" typically means a flat eq boost. All of the pedals listed have a gain knob that color and affect the sound of your guitar/amp.

    I plan to use the Bluesbreaker either before or after the other three Marshall reissue pedals. However, I also have a JHS Bonsai and Ceriatone Centura, so obviously, I'm going to see how much gain and what tones I can get using humbuckers and hotter single coils than Mayer.

The comment on control knobs really made me laugh (if you watched Marshall Governor pedal presentation you will realise why), as well as the price of this unit. I can get excellent clone of this circuit using better..knobs, parts, enclosure for less than 120USD.... I wish Marshall built instead a new amp with less flaws than recent "Origins" and "DSLs".
