Most of them are reclusive and will only attack when attacked, just like any other creature on the planet, including the fuzzy, cute ones like cats and dogs. This particular spider (this is a photograph which I took from my study window) ran away when I attempted to touch it. It's body was nearly the size of a half dollar. Huge, and beautiful. The web covered half of the window. Stunningly beautiful.
