Wow, spectacular job, great slideshow, a LOT can be learned just from some basic pictures of the build up. Very very cool, brings me back to the days when I made power rangers megazord armor in 1st grade :)
I have always wanted to build a Marauder costume or maybe the Starcraft 2 style Firebat. This gave me some hope that such a build is actually plausible, albeit maybe a bit costly...
My mind has melted from seeing how amazing this is... WHY IS THERE NO VIDEO!?!? WHY ARE YOU TORTURING US, MICHAEL WIGGINS?!?! We want to see this thing MOVE!!!!
From the early pictures i would say that the hands are pretty much functional. Can you grab stuff with this thing on? Are the fans also wired up and functional? If not i would look into light weight fan controls. just give me specs of power supply/battery. I think below 500g should be doable for at least 4 fans.
fgregerfeaxcwfeffece yep I can grab stuff pretty well! I've got another video showing that before they were completely put together. The chest lights are wired up with a master switch in the right hand to 8 AA batteries and the fans are an 8 Dcell pack on a separate switch.
I can't even understand how regular people can make stuff like this in their garage.

why don't you use lithium batterys? They have higher energy density and can therefore be much lighter. Somehow youtube did not notify me...
