Chex Quest is amazing. Cool fact: Chex Quest 3 was made in fan response 10 years later by one of the original Chex Quest devs (the youngest, I think), but you probably knew that. I actually prefer the first game, so I thought it was weird that you called it 'meh'.
One time when I poured a bowl of frosted flakes we were out of milk and my dad suggested using orange juice instead and it was horrendous, thank you dad
LIttle art history lesson: The "chex" woman with the big ring in her body standing upon the Clam shell in that painting beyond the Van Gough room is a reference to the Renaissance painting "The Birth of Venus." It was funded by the rich and influential italian Medichi family who supported the study of anatomy and depiction of nude figures... They were able to make this ideological shift by convincing the Catholic Church in the 1400s that the nude body was not indecent and heretical to view, but rather that the intense study and beauty of our biological forms is a gift of God and should be appreciated in a respectable fashion. The Renaissance would not have happened were it not for their philanthropic deeds. To reiterate, the torus pretzel was a censorship for the nudity in that image. Lmfao. Hope you enjoyed the trivia.
6:41 That's Spoonbridge and Cherry (well, Chex), which is located at a museum in Minneapolis. With that and Minnesota Joe on the movie poster for Indiana Jones, it sure makes me think what other local things the folks at General Mills put in the game.
I am legit impressed with the level design of CQ 2 & 3, especially 2. That city level was so good looking it's actually somewhat comparable to a Duke Nukem 3D level, and this was on the DOOM engine!
I remember playing a ton of this when I was pretty young. I never knew it was basically a Doom reskin until about 5 years ago. I never could get past the first maybe two or three levels; it was pretty hard for me. I certainly didn't know about the map, either, haha.
hey grayfruit, recently I've been feeling very down to an extent I haven't been in before and your videos are giving me a lot of comfort, I don't know why but laying down in bed and watching your videos has been one of the few things I've been enjoying recently, I really have to thank you
If you’re not opposed to unofficial/fan created stuff, look into Mega Man: 8 Bit Deathmatch. It’s made in the doom engine but it’s a super original title with unique gameplay and bosses and stuff.
Ey we have another thing we can add to the list of characters which look like Grayfruit. First the little devil enemy from Rayman Legends then it was chubby Doom Guy and now we have Chonky Chex Mona Lisa.
1:42 I literally told my brother about my own water cereal experience the other day, only to watch this and find out grayfruits done the same thing before 😂 I'm in shock
imagine being a kid and getting chex quest in your cereal. i mean its just kid friendly doom, you pretty much just got a entire fucking video game in cereal.
Chex Quest 3 was quite an interesting game. it can be kinda weird to some, but it wasn't to bad of a Doom like game to play. but if you wanna play it where the flemoids actually "die". look up a mod called Samsara, as it's compatible with a lot of games that run on the Doom engine. and you can actually kill the enemies of that game instead of them being teleported
“Peck your beak” got me so hard lmao I think I literally died and ascended to Heaven only for Chex to pull me back down to Earth

one could say you ascended into Rhythm Heaven
we just need more rhythm heaven in our lives

What the fuck
Very important chex quest lore
The fact that the "Peck your beak" at 3:13 was so perfectly on time with the music just speaks to how good he's gotten as a result of rhythm heaven.

dude the tomodachi at 4:08 actually has me deceased really caught me off guard the impression was spot on
how does he do it...
Oh, I had guessed he was impersonating some PaRappa character
Adding Chex Quest Monalisa to the expanding list of things Grayfruit looks like
I'd love to see a collage of all the just strange, obtuse things Grayfruit has said he looks like

Chex Quest II: Chex on Earth, Chex 2016, and Chex Eternal
