Updated my build based on this one. (thanks Hack 🙂) TLDR "it just works." - Todd Howard. So I have a nirnhoned hunding's rage maul for extra Crit granted by 2 piece set bonus from being a 2 handed weapon and an infused Inferno Maelstrom staff on back bar along with winter's respite on jewelry boots, and belt for a decent HoT. (Those armor pieces provide minuscule armor and enchant values compared to the chest, helmet and graves. so very little loss) Still running the Sergeant's Mail as main armor pieces. But I'm using my back bar more for utilities than damage. Wall of elements provides more heavy attack damage and with winters respite it also heals me for 2,400 a tick. I've been able to go toe to toe with bittergreen and roll away from the spriggan burst attack. As mentioned with utilies, I have inhale on back bar now. Along with cauterize for mobile heals, crushing shock for ranged interrupt, molten armaments of course, and wall of elements For MA staff. So in the case where I'm surrounded by interruptables, I use inhale. which stops them, heals me, and then damages them. Has BEEN very effective against bosses with a bunch of adds Like in the case of bittergreen. Where I put down my wall of elements for heals and damage, roll from the burst attack, inhale the spriggans, follow up a noxious breath and brawler, and go back to bittergreen. Repeat. Been a lot of fun taking him down with ease solo. I've also been able to pretty much stand my ground in dungeon bosses with inexperienced group members. (including me 🙃) Such as white gold tower. I keep the wall of elements down and cauterize up for heals and just circle the Atronach boss withing the winter's respite healing wall of elements (mouthful I know 🙃) with a few brawlers. Never have to give up aggro. If it starts looking close, I just use take flight for a quick damage shield or corrosive armor. (Corrosive armor is a handy ult seeing as not only does a mobile AoE, limit health damage to 3% from any hit, but you ignore all physical resistance so them heavies hit even harder) Same with the end boss. I almost never have to get away from him. Even during his little waves of arc damage. And staying alive in the prison cell is easy. Just put down the wall and cauterize. Pick the lock and have full health when free. Even if I about run out of time on the lock. Thank you for your time reading the whole thing if you did. 🙂
Hell yeah this was exactly what I was looking for! I made a Nord for a 2 handed Stam Dk build months ago and stopped playing because I got a bit discouraged in choices. As a solo player this gives me something to work towards now. Def hitting the bell. Thanks dude.
Thank you so much Hack, for another great build! I always have so much fun when I play your builds! And being able to start soloing world bosses at level 20 with them makes me feel OP.
Since extra character slots were on sale I had to start a new character because this build looked so fun, and it has already delivered hours of great game play just getting to level 11, can't wait to reach level 50! Thanks again, Hack, you're awesome!
Pro tip: swap out the slimecraw monster set for a Master's 2-hander for maximum brawler-wreckage! Buff's our main spammable and survival tool's damage into oblivion! Also: weirdly, a maelstrom staff on the back bar works insanely well with this as well, since it even further buffs the heavy attack's base damage.
Yeah, I want to get one of those titanic cleave weapons. I feel using Sergeant's Mail and Queen's Elegance with that weapon would be really good for brawler.
Thanks Hack... The old Mauler build has been my main for some time, and I also go with a bow on the back bar. I also made this build a werewolf. Will have to look at a potential update!
made mine a werewolf also! for soloing, i use the werewolf ultimate for the stam recovery. And to capitalize on this i use the CP skill that gives 30 health recovery for every ten ultimate you have saved up. really helps in long fights to shore up healing gaps.
I played ESO on PC for quite some time, maxed out crafter, Stamina Templar was my main, also a Stamina DK and a Stamina Warden. I stopped playing last year and in the meantime I bought an XBox and started playing on console. (I'm old, I'm a recreational player, a filthy "casual"). I used to watch your channel all the time and just recently stmpled upon your content again. Man, all I can say, there is a sale going on on XBox and I am SO GOING TO PLAY ESO again. :)
A couple more tips. When in the heavy attack part of the rotation and you go to use brawler etc, try to weave the ability within the heavy attack to reduce time and to make the ability essentially free. That being said, for those that use the heavy armor and take advantage of constitution, I weak dizzying strike. If you time it right it will almost swing instantly and will cost nothing because it's weaved with the heavy. Another fun tip with dizzying strike is if you do weave it with a heavy and immediately follow up with a light attack it will drop lesser foes to the ground for 2 seconds. Instead of having to set up another heavy attack. Adding the Radial uppercut blackrose weapon works great for this. Seeing as not only is your heavy attack doing splash damage, so is your uppercut. It makes Uppercut deal 45% of its damage to all enemies near your primary target. I use the dizzying strike as a spam attack in place of venom claw DoT
I really love these one bar builds because I can take one skill of each of the other weapon skills and equip a different weapon. That way whenever I go to turn in a quest or right before finishing a daily I switch to my back bar and level up all the skills I'm not really using. That way if I ever want to change my build all my weapon skills are already maxed out.
Started using maelstrom infused Icestaff with winters respite on jewelry, boots, and belt. Sargeants for the rest of the armor. And for 2 hander I have a precise Gryphon's maul just for increased critical from trait and two-piece set bonus. Having the Ice maelstrom staff with the respite heal (2303 per second) and increased Heavy damage has been a lot of fun. With the Ice staff for the free shield from a distance and crushing shock to interrupt distant enemies, it has been VERY effective and adds a great twist to the build. Especially with using 5 pieces of Sergeant armor to increase healing effects and great sustain.
It feels like you are playing another game than me. Your skills execute every time you press a key. If I tried to play like you did in this boss fight the game doesn't register half of the key presses. No my Internet is top notch and my computer is high end middle range. Often I have to wait 1-3 sec between skills to get them to execute. EU server!
Varangian af Scaniae I get this too and often my bar swap does not happen either. Sadly I am in Australia and play with 250-290 ping. I have a really good pc.
I experience such problems as well. some skills do not get registered and executed. Bar swapping gets killed a lot of times. I don´t know why, but it´s especially hard to endure on my stamblade where you have a lot button-clicking to do.
As somebody else withgood internet but a ok connection only in ESO and a middle end PC , this happens all the time for me. Very discouraging when I play my DPS toons. Not as much an issue on my healer and tank since I don't need to light attack weave or animation cancel as much.
I'm currently cp369 and using 5 armor pieces of Sergeant's Mail, 2 armor pieces of Ravaging, 3 jewelry, and 2h weapons of Queen's Elegance. At my guilds buffed/debuffed Iron Atronach using ONLY heavy attacks, My crits were landing at 24,825 - 35,167. Non Critical heavy attacks were 15,045 - 21,313. The highest Crit I got on a heavy was with a fresh cast of Molten Armaments and Noxious Breath. Ended up landing a 44,476. I have to say having a small bump in Magicka and fully charged heavy attacks grant 2,610 to the next direct damage attack from Queen's Elegance weapons and jewelry has been VERY effective. Queen's Elegance is an overland light armor set located in Auridon (or guild traders) so it is quite easy to get. The extra Magicka from the set also helps out those back bar staff users. (I know you're out there! XD) I also use Ferocious Leap instead of Take Flight. That 34k damage shield it grants along with the Resource restore from DK passives Has saved my ass more times than I can count.
Being so inexperienced, I would love to see a DK TANK build along with a guide on what a tank is supposed to be doing like narrate as you show in a video what and why in a fight. THANKS. I love your videos due to how well you explain things!!!
Love that build, really nice for beginners and so I just did my 1st dungeon solo. Beginner question: Why don‘t you use brawler between those three heavy attacks? :)
@Hack the Minotaur , What's your opinion on using the Knight Slayer set in place of Sergeant's Mail on the rings and weapons? Set = Your fully-charged Heavy Attacks deal an additional 8% of an enemy's Maximum Health as Oblivion Damage. This can deal a maximum of 8000 Oblivion Damage. With the average mob having a little over 30k, wouldn't the oblivion damage value applied be higher than Sergeant's mail at all times? Especially on boss fights. kinda like a Sunderflame replacement
HTM, why did you choose Cauterize and not Vigor for healing? Am just curious....I am using this build and love it! I just get confused as to why cauterize...it is a magicka ability and buffs SPELL crit, with a lower heal total than vigor. Also, why Maul over Greatsword? Seems Maul would be good for direct attacks, but the weapon damage boost from Greatsword seems like it may affect more abilities...
Hey buddy your guides are so good to watch, very informative. I've only recently started playing this game so atm I'm only playing the base game. No dlc just yet. So my question is do you have any solo builds for me? All videos seems updated to dlc equipment. Thanks for any information.
I think bow on back bar is best. If you dodge to get out of an AoE, the passive gives you increased movement speed so you can quickly move out after dodge and fire a heavy off at the same time.
Thanks Hack! I'm new to the game and have been trying to follow your Firebrand build. Which of the two do you prefer? Do you find one to be stronger and more consistent than the other? Thanks!
Thanks Hack for all the great guides and content. Can this build do Solo Arena's and vateshran hollows? I was just curious how it compared vs a standard stamina dps solo build with like ring of the pale order?
Actually trying this build idea on a Magicka DK. Since the Molten Armaments is the crux of the model, it should work on a magdk. Would just be wall of elements, eruption, heavy attacks until refresh dots. Pepper in Cauterize and Molten Armaments to keep them up. This with Infernal Maw set make for a really good "in theory" one bar heavy attack magdk. The sergeants mail can be on weapon and jewelry, with a damage set for armor (or maybe amber plasm for sustain). Thief for mundus just like the stam build. CPs almost identical, except mag versions of some. For world bosses, i have coagulating blood in 1st slot to keep health up.
Maybe I'm going to repeat myself again, but after bahraha, leeching and grothdarr, I see no need and point in other sets out there in the wilds of Tamriel! Thanks to those 3 I have option to solo most of the stuff! In fact those 3 do the main thing for you, while you are afk for some coffee 😁 And as always! Thanks for the another build hack!
What is the armor (outfit) you are wearing for this one? I'm a big fan of it, in your other builds you say what outfit you are wearing at the end (Edit: I have since found it, for those wondering, it's the Blackreach Vanguard "Heavy" outfit)
Hello htm very nice nice build i love it But why are you using slimecraw ? the DK is the only class with free minor berserk am i right ? this build can really solo vet dungeons or dlc World boss ? it's seem to be weak in term of healing or armor
Also if you wait to do Molten till after the 2nd rotation with the 2 bar set up it gives a bit more damage Also thought about switching helms since you get minor berserk from camo hunter?
Just nitpicking, but i think i am gonna replace stormfist with hundings rage. i feel it will buff more abilities, and not rely completely on heavy attacks. i get interupted on heavy attacks frequently, which kinda negates a whole set bonus, and with stormfist, would negate BOTH set's bonuses.
Hey man nice videos but I just started playing and was trying to use this build but not sure if I can use it cause of the updated UI and possibly new skills?
Hey Hack Please clear this up for me cause I really enjoy Hvy Attack builds On a DK- Can this idea of combining Armor bonus Hvy Dam. be used on a Mag DK effectively? No one I have seen is doing it- is there a reason it cannot be as effective as ur “Shock” build??
As soon as I saw the PTS notes and then Hack's video of them and he looked at Sunderflame and said "damage over time, seems boring" I knew an update was coming. And it sucks because I just made my ravaging weapons and rings gold and infused for traits. :'(
Finally someone recommending a Nord for a solo Stamina build! After 2 years away from the game, I see that despite that they've changed the racial bonuses again, the races still seem pretty in-balanced. I wonder if we will ever get to play say, a stam breton and be 100% efficient. Thank you for the guide and for inspiring me to create my favorite 2H Nord stam DK that can safely wear heavy armor, hopefuly the build is still an option as of today, Jan. 2021.
1 bar setup, isn't flames better than cauterize for the weapon critical? Specifically, other than being a heal, cauterize gives major prophecy which is useless on this build.
im trying to figure out the same thing, because virtually every single skill he discussed here is different in my game. did you ever figure out the answer?
I'm new to the game and using the Firebrand build and loving it! I was wondering if I still use Cauterize when I'm in a party of 2. If I'm not soloing im usually in a party of 2 with my mate. Would it be beneficial to change anything when running in a party of 2-3?
Your execute does almost the same as the heavy swing, wouldn’t there be something else for that spot instead so u don’t waste resources to do the same damage ?
@@HackTheMinotaur can we get a super beefy health dragonknight tank build? With the new updates to sets, I think I know what I'm going for. Alessians Order, (or beekeeper) and the Bloodlords Embrace. Im stuck whether or not I want to skip out on the second five piece set, or skip out on the monster set. Thoughts?
I enjoy your build videos, but I think you spend too much time upfront on the details of gear where that time should largely be focused on the mechanics and concept of the build(s). The way they are structured now, I always hesitate to share the videos because so much of the upfront information would be obtuse to most not already deeply invested in the itemization and acquisitions within the game. If you take a look at other successful build guides for other games on other channels, they intro heavily the concept and gameplay mechanics of the builds. I think Fextralife does this best in style, presentation, and professionalism. Just some food for thought. I still enjoy your videos.
The Written Guide is now updated for Stonethorn too!! www.hacktheminotaur.com/builds/eso-stamina-dragonknight-solo-pve-one-bar-build-mauler
You should do a new magcro build
What music did you use that is playing during the combat showcase at the end of the video?
Nice build🤝👍

What does 2H mean?

Great video as always Hack. Is this build any good in vMA?
Please do another templar solo build

Your builds are top notch and FUN to play! Could you do a DK tank build sometime?
Very nice as always :)
I think bow on back bar is best. If you dodge to get out of an AoE, the passive gives you increased movement speed so you can quickly move out after dodge and fire a heavy off at the same time.

Hey Hack
Please clear this up for me cause I really enjoy Hvy Attack builds
On a DK- Can this idea of combining Armor bonus Hvy Dam. be used on a Mag DK effectively? No one I have seen is doing it- is there a reason it cannot be as effective as ur “Shock” build??
It can be done. I think sorcerer is just easier due to passive healing from crit surge - but you might get more damage from DK using Molten Armaments
Is this build still viable for Markarth?
If a do some changes, this build is viable for dps in trials and vDungeons?
How you get echoing vigor so high
As soon as I saw the PTS notes and then Hack's video of them and he looked at Sunderflame and said "damage over time, seems boring" I knew an update was coming. And it sucks because I just made my ravaging weapons and rings gold and infused for traits. :'(
Another great build. Btw can I get jewellery from wayrest 1?
Yes you can!
Going with heavy attack build, what about using maelstrom inferno on the back bar?
maelstrom lightning would be good w/ blockade. Enemies get concussed and HA will stun them.
does this work well in pvp?
Could this set up work on a stam necro?
Would not undqunted infiltrator be better than storm master?
I tried it but I didn’t like having to cast a magic skill every 10 seconds
Why dont you stack this with the mage guild last passive for even more heavy attack damage
wich mundus stone are u using?
his written guide for this build says The Thief
1 bar setup, isn't flames better than cauterize for the weapon critical? Specifically, other than being a heal, cauterize gives major prophecy which is useless on this build.
Is this one nerfed?
im trying to figure out the same thing, because virtually every single skill he discussed here is different in my game. did you ever figure out the answer?
Is this tank or dps?
Why the maul? Would it not be better with a greatsword or great axe?
Probably for the passive armor pen
How does this build hold up in vma?
Where to get storm set
How do you have 5 piece buff activated if you only have weapon and 3, jewelry?
2 handed weapons give 2 set bonuses
This build can work when i have 250CP?
Why is 31k heavy attack allowed?
This build is awesome I'm using a orc for extra weapon dange
can you do a werewolf build please
Any other ways to increase DPS on this build? It seem way too low.....
I'm new to the game and using the Firebrand build and loving it!
I was wondering if I still use Cauterize when I'm in a party of 2. If I'm not soloing im usually in a party of 2 with my mate. Would it be beneficial to change anything when running in a party of 2-3?
Cauterize can heal you or a group member, so it should be good. However for 3 or more I would use Resolving Vigor instead.
Next Mag Dragon Heavy Build plz
is it normal that i got dps 9k-8k
Your execute does almost the same as the heavy swing, wouldn’t there be something else for that spot instead so u don’t waste resources to do the same damage ?
Wait this isnt dot mag necro
Amazing video nonetheless
Still working?
Did l just see a 135k crit heavy attack?
Dear lord in heaven, how do you have so. much. gold. As a new player I need to starve to train mount.
how come there 50% more but i checked the skill it 35% more heavy damage
Is it rank 4? Some skills increase with rank
Another video I wasnt able to see right when it came out. Whenever I sub I have to resub because it doesn't save or something
Do you have notifications turned on?
@@HackTheMinotaur I do. But whenever I close UA-cam I have to resub again
Thoughts?
Why not Camouflage Hunter instead of Cauterize? U get 3% DMG and the Major prophecy too
He has no heal that way
i am thinking of swapping Cauterize with Vigor.....
The Gods gave you two hands and you use them for your weapon
