Abby’s classical prowess glides in parallel to Sona’s rich and earthy vocal texture in this powerful raag-based track. The intense moods of raag Puriya Dhanashri complement the contemporary production elements in the song to create an audio-visual experience like never before. I hope both Carnatic and Hindustani classical musicians take Abby seriously. Classical musicians especially on the Carnatic side from Tamil Nadu, don’t treat singers from other regions well (Andra, Karnataka, and also Tamilians from Mumbai) they show indifference and label them as light singers. It is really sad, also singers with exceptional voice have to be given lot of importance and not just those with textbook knowledge. I just pray Abby gets all the recognition he deserves.
