@@cherrychocolatecola I'm not technically inclined, but my husband is. When you say "blank", do you mean the screen lights up but there's no information on it? Or do you mean the screen is dark? If it's dark, the little power box on the plug has failed--which is common and easy to replace. But if it lights up with no info on the console screen, something has failed in the board, and that's much more complicated.

I just got a Nautilus E616 elliptical that has almost the same console, which is what got my attention. Didn't realize this was for a bike until close to the end of the video. I will look for the correct video for my elliptical but this video was still very helpful.
SUPERB Video!! I watched it once to be familiarized; then started it over and programmed our console step-by-(very easy) step as the video played. Every bit of programming went exactly as described. My most Very Sincere Thank You. I "LIKEd" it and will contact the salesman at Dick's who sold the Schwinn 170 to me to tell him to recommend this video to everyone who purchases one.
Your video was great setting up my 570r. But i have the same problem as several people have mentioned here, the heart rate reader is all over the place. It said 199 BPM after about 1 minute of pedalling. and then nothing, and then 160. Might have to return it as its the main reason I bought this model. At 71 yrs old, I need to keep within the recommended BPM limit. Thanks for the video
Thank you for posting this video. There must be something wrong with the BPM on my bike. As soon as I started pedaling my BPM was 135 whilst my BPM on the Pulse Oximeter was 65.

This is the best console setup video on youtube. Thank you!!! Had only one glitch, which is that in the initial scroll through, i neglected to turn the beep off. Now the editing options won't show the sound screen. How can I get back to zero so I can turn the stupid beep off??? Thanks.
I came here for this very question. I'm thinking there must be a way to go back to the settings without resetting the entire console? Beep is SO loud and annoying!
The only way to turn it off is to press and hold the right arrow and pause/end red button. simultaneously. It does take you back to the beginning, but it's the only way to get access to the sound option again. Turned mine off, Finally!

Nautilus JRNY app I believe charges Peloton app has several membership options. One of the options is free. Explore the World by Bowflex (same as Schwinn) is free apps.apple.com/us/app/explore-the-world-by-bowflex/id1486446693
Has anyone else noticed that the heart rate monitor spikes , and stays there no matter how long you hold the handlebar monitors contacts??? I even noticed in this short little video that when he put his hands on the heart rate contacts of the handlebars it spiked, and all he did was take his hands back off the contacts.
Great video, I learned some things I did not know. I have the 170 model, but I want to know how the levels translate to watts? Any thoughts? Also, how do I set up the blue tooth to work with other apps like zwift, RGT, etc? It only seems to work with Explore the World. Thanks!

Sounds like time to call customer service. Try these first though if you haven’t already: clean dry hands, moderate grip - not too tight or too loose, wait 5+ seconds to let it detect your rate, be sure you are looking at heart rate not heart rate zone for accuracy (more info on that if needed ua-cam.com/video/lqx6DyOdUiQ/v-deo.html ) Good luck and let us know if you get it resolved one way or another!

Thanks for the question. The brightness is always the same, can’t be adjusted. Unless you count draping a workout towel over it and then it’s like 0% brightness LOL
Hello! Very good video. I'm wondering if you're knowledgeable about troubleshooting. My schwinn 170 was working great, but suddenly stopped registering anything on the monitor. It does illuminate and shows the section outlines that would normally fill in - welcome, speed, etc. Any ideas on what to check? Thank-you.
@SaveMoneyDIY Yeah, they weren't any help as far as troubleshooting. Tried to sell me a tension/resistance motor, a tool to remove that part, and a new console for almost $400. I think I'll just spend some time tomorrow disassembling and see if maybe a wire is kinked somewhere. Thank you for replying to me anyhow - just hoping someone else had seen this issue.
I have the Schwinn 430 Elliptical. It works GREAT, but for some reason my console screen does not light up. It's brand new. One website said to make sure it has "fresh batteries", but I see no place to put batteries in on the console. Can anyone help?!
I like my 470 but I'm not figuring out how to save a custom program. Can this be done? I simply want to save a program under my user name where I specify the time as well as both intensity levels. Surely this should be intuitive to do but so far I'm not seeing it.

I'm having a console problem with my Schwinn 170 model. After I plug it in, the console lights up but none of the commands work. Does anyone know why and how to fix it? It was working fine until now (for about one year).
Question. This is my 2nd schwinn 270 recumbent bike. The intensity levels in the programs such as mountains - mount hood are not changing every 2 mins. Did something change and or how is the timing of the intervals determined. The every 2 min change is so much more practical rather than being stuck on a level for 12 mins before it moves to the next one. Can anyone explain this and how do I fix this? I always choose the calories goal and it supposed to do this when you choose it. Hope you could follow along here!
Hi thanks for the good question. So each bar is 2 minutes when the total workout is 30 minutes. In other words, since there are 15 bars, each bar represents 1/15 of the total workout time. If you’re set on calories, I’m not sure if the console automatically chooses the total workout time? But hopefully this helps a little.

I have the Nautilus R616 which is exactly the same bike. It's just a tad cheaper and a 2 year warranty opposed to Schwins 1 year warranty.

our heart rate monitor is not working. we've checked the connection under the seat, it is plugged in correctly.

It was a little squeaky at one point but just needed some bolts around the seat area to be tightened. Doesn’t make any noise now.

Hmm I haven’t done much troubleshooting but Schwinn has a customer service number you can call 800-605-3369. Let us know if they are able to help?

In explore the world app, no, it runs whatever program/resistance the console is set to. I believe all other apps are the same.

My resistance is suddenly way too strong. If I press the button more than twice its way too high. But way to low if I don't there's not medium

Two options: 1) Find a thin towel or bed sheet. Drape it over the screen. 2) sunglasses 😎 😂
