Bought a purple one 2 weeks ago after watching a few reviews including this one. I have a mongrel strat with a 57 neck on a 72 deluxe body, but have played this everyday since i got it. Good first/intermediate guitar which is stable, and has good voicing. Strung it up out of the box and it is setup sweet i havent done a thing except string it and tune it. I like the whammy, it seems stable no detune which is great, although quality isnt the greatest it does the job.Good neck dimensions, and especially dig the satin neck finish. Dont be a tightarse, go buy and be amazed! Much love from NZ

I just bought one in grey. It came rough but once setup it's actually crazy fun to play. Everything other than the wood is the exact quality you'd expect from a sub $150 but honestly you should expect that. That being said a pencil on the nut and string trees, double winding the strings and some 2 in 1 oil on all the moving parts and all the parts are usable. As long as you have reasonable expectations you won't regret it. It's a rad guitar. PS: I also bought a Baretta Special(maple board) and that thing is crazy fun to play as well. It came with a better setup than the focus but I think the hardware is the same. Finish is great on both guitars. There is a bit of a sparkle in the blue Baretta Special and the supposed grey Focus I swear looks more mint than grey. But I like it. Anyways, I told myself I would never buy another Gibson product but I couldn't resit these two guitars. I plan on heavily modding them but they're a hell of a value as is. I'd argue the best value in the industry right now. Mahogany bodies, 2-pice maple necks(no skunk stripes) and alnico pups for well under 2 bills, what the hell more do you want?

I'm not a guitar player at all (I do play bass a little though), but I chose this guitar as a free gift for being at my place of employment for 25 years. Sounded good right out of the box. I didn't like the white pickguard though. My wife also thought the guitar looked very cheesy. LOL!! I actually went with a black pickguard from EMG with pickups already installed. Fir well, but I had to drill 9 new holes. It looks A LOT better now and even my wife thinks so. I also shielded the electronics cavity in the body with silver coated copper paint. I also plan on replacing the tuning knobs, but am not sure which ones to go with yet. I also need to focus on cleaning up the edges of the fret a bit because they definitely need to be deburred. Neck was slightly bowed, but adjusting the truss rob about a 1/4 turn helped a lot. This guitar is gonna look really nice hanging on the wall in my basement.

Whaha I just bought one pretty much by accident. Same color as this video too. I went there to look for some spare parts stock pickups for a guitar project and they didn't have any laying around so I just started goofing around on this Kramer. And it was so much fun that I made a jhoke that if it was a bit cheaper id take it for spare parts...and store owner hears me and says "how much cheaper? He had marked at 129.99 so I made an offer ...a really crazy low offer and he took it. I got it home set it up properly and I just couldn't bring myself to scrap it for parts....I love it hahaha. I have a beautiful collection of guitars and recently got a fancy Epiphone LP standard and still having a blast with this silly Kramer. Nicely done

  • @jacobsamano9761

I absolutely love this guitar! I bought the Teal version. I replaced the tuners (which are terrible and hardly stay in tune), crafted a bone nut in place of the cheap plastic one, leveled, crowned and polished frets as well as rolling fret edges, swapped out the single coils for the ones from a Squier 50’s Classic Vibe Strat I had, swapped the humbucker for a Seymour Duncan JB, removed one of the tone knobs so I could move the remaining 2 knobs down a spot so they were out of the way of picking hand and man this thing is awesome now. I get that it seems like a lot but it wasn’t all done at once. The neck is just so damn comfortable to play and the mahogany body gives it such a pronounced sound that it is funner to play than any guitar I’ve owned in 20 years of playing. It really is a perfect modding platform if for no other reason than the neck is amazing.

I am a left handed guitarist and i bought a Kramer guitar in the mid 80's and i still have it! I don"t remember the price but i only changed two years ago the bridge pick-up with a Seymour Duncan Pegasus that was on a Jackson guitar. And this guitar is one of my favorite, made in USA, HSS, Kramer mechanics, light weight and a Floyd Rose II. Original pick-ups were designed by SD so the one i own is like the original except i changed the bridge pick-up. I really like this guitar i don"t know why KRAMER release some low budget guitars like this one theses days? This brand needs to release good guitars like in the 80's and not this one probably made in China that don't stay tuned! The look is great but that's all. What could i except for this price?

It's a nice guitar I bought one and 0layed it and it felt good but I wanted to upgrade one to my liking so I bought another and put a fender american trem in it, emg 81 in the bridge and a coil split for it. And 2 fender custom 69 strat pickups in it and a cream pickup cover for the emg to match to the single coils. I put a switchcraft 1/4 jack in it and cts pots with a CRL 5 way switch. I repainted it like an evh bumble bee and used a clear pickguard with yellow led's underneath. And a brass nut with fender locking tuners. And also put stainless steel frets in it

These are surprisingly good. I got one on a whim after making a crazy low offer that the store owner took and I have quite a collection of nice and some expensive guitars and I still love this ridiculous 🎸 guitar. All the ones I saw in the store were NOT setup. So I can understand if ppl have a bad impression if they haven't seen/played one that is set up properly. I took it home and gave it a proper setup and it's pickups are admittedly pretty weak but they have nice tone....but that is my ONLY negative thing I can say. The action is now low, intonation is fair, it stays in tune fine so I don't get that complaint. It is balanced well and feels solid, it feels like a legit good guitar. ...because it is a legit good guitar. I have great guitars of varying brands and prices and I can say that im proud to own and play this Kramer Focus
