in manga there is actually another line. The bullets said that if Mista keep shooting he may shoot a civilian by accident(refering to old Prosciutto). So they called Mista over here. So yeah, Prosciutto literally saved Pesci and lured Mista here. If he did not hold Pesci down Mista will just shoot Pesci to death from two cabins away. Not sure why they did not use this line in anime. I think it is an obvious giveaway that old man is Prosciutto so david production may removed it so we can really realize what he did when we watch again.

This was in reference to Miata shooting himself and it was probably due to a fishhook attempting to pull his brain out through his ear/arm so to better the bullet than that.
