I used to listen to these programs with my dad....I then listened to these with my son...now we all listen to these with his son. Yippee I Oh Kayeah.🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠🤠
A patriot too! He was also in the Army Air Force, like my dad, in WW2. He attained the rank of Brigadier General in the AF Reserve. Jimmy Stewart for President!
I l-o-v-e these shows, and I loved Jimmy Stewart even more!!! He was a fantastic actor and could play any role with talent and ease! His voice was warm and kind, and he was soooo authentic! I remember "The Restless Gun" TV western, too, watched it right on our old black/white console TV when I was a little girl!
I wrote Mr. Stewart after I first saw "It's a Wonderful Life" around 1969 telling him how much the show meant to me when I was going through a rough time. Soon after I received an envelope from him with a nice note and an autographed photo. He was a great man.
This is one of my favorite old-time Old West radio shows, The Six Shooter. Jimmy Stewart was really ideal for this role, very laid-back and yet got the job, done. Take care 📻
I've listened to so many radio Gunsmoke episodes that I feel like Matt, Doc, Chester, and Kitty are my personal friends, lol. And I feel like Jimmy Stewart has been a familiar part of my life just because of all the movies and t.v. shows I saw him in, almost always playing a regular guy, somebody with character and depth, slightly imperfect but a solid good guy, likeable and very relatable (except for a couple of bad guy roles that I know of). I like to think he was a really good guy in real life, too. At least I'm happy thinking that he had a lot in common with the likeable, "ordinary man" characters he played.
William Conrad,... the voice of Matt Dillon of Gunsmoke,... a VERY talented radio actor,... remember the TV detective show called.....Cannon,.... that'd be Bill ..........
Jimmy Stewart is such a talented actor no matter what role he played . I only saw him play the"bad guy" one time and that was in his very early career and he played a very nasty vindictive character in "After the Thin Man" . He played the "friend" of Selma , the cousin of Nora and Nick Charles , and he wants to ruin her because she married another man .
The Restless Gun! My son and I were just talking about that show. When my big kids were little we binge watched all the old western tv shows! That was a favorite!
Love this show Love Jimmy Stewart Love OTR

TV show became John Payne's excellent "The Restless Gun." He was big as life, likeable, & a great actor.
I never heard of The Restless Gun, I guess they never re-ran it during the 60s, when I was old enough to watch TV.

Only the third episode and I've already heard the voices of two Gunsmoke characters - Matt Dillon (William Conrad) and Doc (Howard McNear).

where in the west is this program set? I realize the promo mentions Texas.
I believe it is set in Eagle Falls, Texas.
