Well done sir. I have a catalina 27 and docking is either a great event, or a life harrowing experience. Was in a previous marina with a massive current- one wrong move and you would be slammed sideways into the boats on the opposite slip. Now enjoying life where I can float in without power, exactly like you did. Added ten years to my life...
Now that's the way it's done - no throttle and steering it in, then getting a line to the dock ASAP. 'Throttle is NOT your friend!' - my advice to motorboaters when I was at WM. I've seen too many people way overcorrect with throttle and it just becomes a mess. Well done, Brian!
That looks easy. Hold my beer! All of life's worst sailing experiences come while docking (hopefully!). I keep a picture taken from the dock the first time I docked a much bigger (charter) yacht than I'm used to (38ft) stern to. It's good I'm wearing sun glasses so you can't see the sheer panic I felt. All I could think of was the humiliation. If the bill for getting it badly wrong had crossed my mind I'd never have tried...
Had a 9.9, now a 6. Overall prefer the 6. It's noisier and has less power, but its idle speed is slower and more controllable, which makes docking much easier. '83 Cat 25

Very informative, and well-filmed!
Will be stealing some of your docking techniques on my next single-handing adventure...
Nice job. Keep the videos coming, I enjoy them a lot. New owner of a 1983 Catalina 25.
That approach was a beautiful thing
Wow Sailor great episode,
Nice technique Brian. I'm not sure that hoisting the sail before you left the slip was very helpful (??), but nice, controlled arrival. Good video.
Thank you for watching! It doesn't help at all but it is a kind of convenient way for single-handed sailing.
Im dreaming of a sailboat, but I can tell docking/undocking is going to tear my nerves up.
Get a mooring instead. Much easier to get on & off a mooring, even under sail
@@CharlesEstabrooks You're going to have to do it sometime. What about hauling out?
Good Job, Grez from lace of Konstanz.
크고 최신의 요트만 추구할 게 아니라 배와 관계 없이 혼자서 세일링의 기술을 구사 하면서 즐기는 세일링을 몸소 멀리서 즐기는 모습이 좋습니다.
Nice! I've got the same boat.
Wonderful. ,.,.,,.,.,.🌊⛵⚓
More sailing videos please!
no new sailing videos? still got it?

lol, was that a vuvuzela?
Yes it is an eco-friendly air horn.
Brian Choi love it! I recently helped a friend install solar panels on his sailboat. This is a great idea for a sound device!!
Nicely done!
How much HP does your motor have and do you find it sufficient? (I'm looking at a C25 that only has a tiny 3.5HP engine)
I have used 9 HP and 6 HP. I prefer 6 HP, it is good enough and easy to handle for repair.
Honda 4 stroke 7.5. Cheers.
Yamaha outboard 9.9
I love it.

Really, who does that?
Hi!👋
배타고 가서 스노클링 할때 없어?
임시운 한 7시간 가면 물이 아주 깨끗한 카탈리라라는 섬이 있어.
Brian Choi I thought it only took 4 hours to get to Catalina from LA?
ㅎㅎ
7시간이면 한국까지 가겠다 ㅋ
Gloves to protect your hands but flip flops on your feet? After a few more miles under your keel you will reverse that, I suspect.
You dont constantly handle lines with your feet
