OG fragrances are deliberately reformulated downwards, to allow a parfum or elixir release, which are simply the original ‘recipe’ at inflated prices. It’s a scam but sadly we buy them 😳
The edt was always the one for me. The edp just never sat right on my skin. Weirdly vegetal and slightly plasticy. The synthetics turned by stomach on a few occasions too. Still, it's an iconic formula without a doubt.
I wont lie. My Dad loved the EDT and I enjoyed the EDP (kinda enjoyed the EDT a little more due to him). I might wait, however, I will own this one too! Thank you for the review. Have a Great Day! Cheers!🎉
Shocked by the US price. I bought the 50ml version at Heathrow Airport last week for just £79 ($100) and thought it was pretty reasonable. It's definitely linear but I prefer it to the original.
American market is in over consumption mode so it’s no wonder the companies don’t cash in on the trend. As you can see, people are still going to buy itdespite the inflated price
I’m going to go try this out at Macys hopefully it will hit the discounters soon. I have the EDT and I can’t for the life of me figure why they discontinued it I think it’s really nice. A bit fresher than the edp. I was lucky enough to read the tea leaves and get a back up bottle of the edt.
I have a bottle of the original Tom Ford Grey Vetiver Eau De Parfume and that is good enough for me. I think the cost of all perfumes has gone through the roof, but especially Tom Ford’s.
Over the years of buying grey vetiver it was more refined. Over the years it has become weaker, so perhaps it was being lined up for an 'upgrade'. For the price I agree it's not enough of a wow fragrance. However it's a classy safe bet and if you like it I can see why you would go for it even at the price.

That, or they water down the original versions of the EDP that they need to put out a parfum that works about the same as original EDPs did…

Try them side by side and see the difference. Parfum is like Ganymede+GV EDP, EDP is like Guerlain Vetiver.

I LOVED the EDT.
EDP isn't bad, just got a bit stuffy on me sometimes, whereas the EDT was so bright and refreshing.

Yea Grey Vetiver EDP is a quintessential upscale office scent so I don't know a more intense Parfum version would be better for me.

Amouage is certainly using this approach to their creations: their edp are getting weaker and then they release an extrait version.
I’m happy with Guerlain Vetiver.
Grey Vetiver is smoother and more modern smelling.

Tom Fords pricing is completely out of control and not worthy of what’s being delivered I feel.

I use Amoroud Lunar Vetiver instead.
Louis Vuitton charges 365 for their 3.4 oz bottles. Ombre nomad, orange,. Any decent scent these days runs about 250 to 360 price range.

Try "Breath of God" if you want a really fresh and good vetiver scent or Timbutku from L'Artisain Parfumeur.

I prefer the EDP on my partner. The parfum smells a bit mosquito-dopey to me. Too harsh. The edp has a sparkle to it that I like better.

Yes same goes for Germany, you can geht the parfum Version for around 150€ and the eau the parfum for 110€.

EDT is more smoother and not so spicy compared to EDP. I don't own the new Parfum.

Guerlain Vetiver is more old school. Grey Vetiver is smoother and more modern smelling.
