    Have to agree these are the about the best for the price. Better than rab unless you get the vapor rise stuff. And like you said they fit great, well fit me great anyway

      Totally agree. I hope it doesn't come across as I'm saying they're the best full-stop because they're not, but I really believe they are for the money and an all-rounder.

    Hi Andy. Thank you for this review. I also wear ME trousers but mine are the Orbital. I think they are excellent. Mine are a bit more expensive due to being classed as Ultralight. From memory, I think they cost me £140 and weigh around 270g. Stretchy, very water resistant and lightweight. I love them.
    John.

  • @markrichter2053
    @markrichter2053 4 дні тому

    He’s right. I’ve had both. My old ibex were good winter trousers. However my new ibex pro are so much better! The ibex were useful but there was so much on them that irritated me. ALL THE PROBLEMS ARE FIXED in the ibex Pro. These are my perfect outdoor trousers. I didn’t live the Ibex. I do love the Ibex Pro. It’s like they read my mind and changed everything around to how I would like them made.
    The Ibex were too heavy and over complicated. The mesh pockets were too shallow and whin used as vents were useless as pockets. The lower leg zip would only be useful for ski boots or really large mountain boots and made yh too heavy.
    The pro are just so lovely to use. The perfect trousers for mountains and woods

  • @gferguson73
    @gferguson73 Рік тому +1

    If they made the pro pants without the pockets on the front of the legs and had a mesh lining for the vents they would be the perfect pant, like I really don't understand why all these companies are putting pockets on the front of ur legs it's just horrible. But thanks for the video mate 👍 good as always

    I have two pairs of Ibeks. Love them apart from one thing, the belt. You tighten it and the minute you crouch or extend your leg climbing it slips and whilst with a back pack it gets awkward having to readjust. Further to that, if rushed whilst taking them off the belt buckle can slip into the stitched material and it’s a bloody effort to get it out. So swapped the belt out and problem solved 👍🏻

    • @BackpackingUK
      @BackpackingUK 2 роки тому +1

      I’ve never had a problem with the belt myself, but it’s usually fairly loose because the trousers are a great fit without it.

    • @eirikjarlmikkelborg537
      @eirikjarlmikkelborg537 2 роки тому

      I agree that the belt is a giant problem on the standard Ibex pants. Also, when I wash it, the belt goes totally out of position and it's hard to put it back. The side pockets are also extremely small, but they work as ventilation. I also think they are a little to wide in the legs, but other than that totally ok.

    Hi mate . Cracking review . I’ve been thinking about the ibex pro pants . Can I ask your opinion on wearing them in hot summer days on the hills. . They also seem to have a bit more of a regular fit compared to the normal ibex ones . I know the pro has the venting but do they run a lot hotter than the normal ones . Thanks .

    • @BackpackingUK
      @BackpackingUK Рік тому

      To be honest, I’m always in shorts on hot days. However, I can say the vents make a big difference if there’s a breeze. I don’t think they run much hotter than the standard versions, I’ve hardly noticed it.

    I've got a cpl pairs of the normal Ibex pants there great all round trousers for 3 season hiking they have bobbled a bit around the groin area but I use them all the time anything above 20c they run a bit warm but that when I put shorts on also in temps below about 5c with wind-chill you feel it.
