shinee has the most amazing stage presence ever and her take on stage performance is note worthy. i have not seen a shinee concert live, but have watched their beyond live instead and their ability to make me feel like i was personally there shouting with my fellow shawols is amazing. since key will have his GOAT concert, i am hoping to see him perform at least online.
For SHINee's "1 of 1" the stylist is Key, the member with the brown suit. He is the one who picked out the outfits and even styled the backup dancers/models in this MV. Their style is intentionally designed this way to fit the '90s retro theme of this album and song. As SM Entertainment's director of fashion, Key pulled together the perfect '90s looks. :D (He spent some time in middle school -- before becoming a trainee with SM at around age 14 -- studying in Australia and the U.S. And he says his grandma had an English tutor when he was growing up. Which is why he is fluent in English and is so well versed in western culture.) Here are some fun facts about SHINee's "1 of 1" MV: "1 of 1" came out in 2016 and it is the title track on SHINee's 5th full length Korean album. SHINee debuted on May 25, 2008, (5/25). In this MV there were 25 girls. So, 5 members + 25 girls = 5/25. All the girls in this MV are models, so that is why they don't really dance, and if you notice, most of the girls are taller than the SHINee members LOL -- but that's OK because it fits the theme of the MV well. In the '90s often the girls that were featured in the MVs were well-known models and actresses, not backup dancers. The MV was supposed to have that slightly awkward, unpolished look and feel to it because it was part of the retro aesthetic. Also, I can't remember which it was, but either the time stamp on the MV or the time stamp on the song is exactly 5:25 as well. As someone who was a teenager in the '90s, I can attest to the fact that this whole project is the perfect example of the '90s. Everything, from the look of the set with the all white background to the clothes everyone wore, to their dance moves, to the video editing and the sound of the song, was all '90s. They even released some of their albums on cassette tape as part of a limited collector's edition to further celebrate the '90s theme. It's amazing how every song SHINee releases is very unique and unlike any other, and yet, every time, no matter what, it always has that very SHINee feel.
when she explained the filling the arena with your moves point, i realized why shinee's stage presence and performances stand out so much. they put so much energy into their movements and seem to want to reach everyone in the audience regardless of distance.
I like how she pointed out that they were all on point in the 1 of 1 dance section. SHINee always come through with the choreo. Keeping up with Taemin (and Key, honestly) is no easy task. The 2014 Picasso performance is probably my favorite version, but I think good footage of it is hard to find unless you own the concert dvd. Key was on fire during that one, which is saying something because it's Key we're talking about.
It's interesting how she points out the singing in the rain concept fits "your number", because yes SHINee has been put out songs with concept contradict with the song to make it more contemporary, but they also give what people want on their concert, since "your number" was performed with the singing in the rain concept and setting in the concert tour in Japan during their "FIVE" tour.
One other note about SHINee, when they toured in Japan, they sang their discography in Japanese - so your reactor's comment about their singing/dancing live, that is quintessentially SHINee, but they are also known to have an extended discography of music in Korean and Japanese (and English). If you noticed the first song you reacted to - Your Number - that was in Japanese, as well as Picasso, because that was a clip from their tour in Japan.
If you were impressed with how SHINee filled the arena with their moves during their "Picasso" performance, I just want to point out that it's even more impressive when you realized that not only where they dancing super hard and killing it with their moves, but they were singing live that whole time as well. Just listen to how stable their vocals were the whole time as well. SHINee are literally the standard in the Kpop industry when it comes to live performances and they are the group that everyone looks up to and tries to emulate when it comes to singing live while performing this intensely for 3+ hours in concert.
I'm just a commoner who loves singing along to SHINee but man is it hard to sing songs like Picasso and Dynamite to name a few. The kind of energy required to just sing these kinds of powerhouses of songs, I can't even fathom the talent and skills and stamina they possess. But on top of it, they also dance powerfully to complement their powerful singing, just blows my mind. We know that 2 of the 5 have the roots in dancing prior to their training but the fact that when you watch SHINee, they never give off the impression of lacking in anything. Everybody Shines in SHINee.
I love your comment! It's so true! SHINee has this thing that only some or mostly older KPOP groups have - each member isn't limited to just one or two talents. Obviously some are more experienced and talented with certain things, but they can all do everything proficiently. They can all dance, sing, rap, and they're just all so so talented at bringing their individuality while at the same time making sure no one overpowers anyone else. It's one of the reasons I adore SHINee. They don't limit themselves - they all try to improve in every area possible, and when they perform, it doesn't feel like 5 different members. SHINee wouldn't be SHINee without all 5 members. Even with Jonghyun gone, we can't think of SHINee without him, and neither can they. SHINee is literally made up of all their personalities, talent and hard work. I also think they just all inspire each other, and I love that.
@@aileenexshawol agree. Man it took me a long time to really appreciate what SHINee and SHINee boys have been able to do in this industry. I recently turned into a shawol after being just a casual fan for a decade. As a babywol, when I was diving into their discography, I was surprised that I was listening to a vocal only song, and could not figure out when a rapper (minho) and a lead rapper (Key) has sung their parts. Or the fact that Onew was assumed to be main dancer or atleast from the dance line. All 5 members give their all to make sure nothing seems lacking. SHINee is made up of 5 ALL-ROUNDER PERFORMERS. And that's just the Vocal and Dancing aspect of them, there's the music and the concepts they do, that's another story. *Sigh* Everybody would regret stanning SHINee late, speaking from my own experience.
@KEY's burnt gucci So true! I often watch reaction videos, and I love when people react to their cover of IU's Dear Name, or just SHINee ballads in general. They get so surprised that each member knows how to sing really well- and that they are so so good at harmonizing, too. When they perform the hardcore dancing songs, people are also shocked at their vocal stability, attitude and just their ability to give their 100% every time. To be able to sound amazing and dance amazing, and also interact with the audience really well, that is TALENT. What I also like about SHINee is that they are still so relevant, even with all the changes in kpop. They can catch up with what's "in" but they are still the SHINee we know, and that's probably one of the hardest things to do.
i love how you went like "oh you want colourful suits? let me show you this" cause shinee literally did every concept you can choose anything you like :D
Thanks a lot! I especially love reactions to their live performances. I like Picaso from the DxDxD concert more, but I still enjoyed it very much (like almost every SHINee life performance). I really like Zin's reactions.)))
@@Koko3op Hmm))))), I rewatched both performances , but I like everything at the DxDxD concert))) actually this version from 2014, I saw it several times before Picasso's performance in 2015, I liked it, but I fell in love with the DxDxD version. )))But I understand what you mean.
interesting song choices! 1of1 as a song and the choreo on its own arent standouts but they do go well tgt. Cant wait for her reaction! Would u consider showing the dancers choreo to juliette, love like oxygen? Shinee's musicality were insane even for these first few songs. Always thought these songs are underappreciated
I wish you showed a different version of Picasso with better camerawork that showed more of the choreography. :( Still, thank you for the reaction! I loved hearing her take on Your Number, I think it definitely has a "musical number" vibe that is so different and fun!
I missed Zin so much! I really appreciate her insight as a dancer and performer myself. side note: please turn autoplay off, I beg. it gives me anxiety every time they have to quickly stop the net video from playing.
You really see Taemin being very aware of dynamics in group dances and he actively tries to tone down his main character energy during other member spotlights in their later work. It says a lot about his humility but also confidence in his ability to take back to spotlight
thank you for the reactio! your friend is so pretty & really appreciated her comments. personally i like the DxDxD version of picasso better but still thank you ❤
