  • Below you'll find links and descriptions for products used. Thanks to the kind people at Lifescraft art for sending me these tools. I absolutely LOVE the wire snips and will get a lot of use out of the die album.

    Discount code: SANDY25
    Die storage album: lifescraftart....
    Pliers/wire snips: lifescraftart....
I have used a LOT of different wire snips and this is the first pair I could actually snip with. I know I looked awkward doing it on the video, that isn't the fault of the snips, it's because my wrists are fused so can't bend like others.
I went to a local paint/wallpaper store and asked if they had any outdated wallpaper sample books and they kindly gave me one. Apparently their books have expiration dates on them, so they are happy to part with them for free.
I cut out a couple of pages from the book and measured the outside covers and used double sided tear tape ( www.amazon.com...) to attach the wallpaper to the album. The first strip of tear tape, I laid under the inside edge of the album as close to the center brads as possible, then removed the cover off the tape. I added several lines of tear tape to the underside of the wall paper but only took the cover off the first two strips closest to the first strip laid on the album. I found if you hold the album cover open flat, it's easier to slide that wallpaper under the center piece then once I was sure the top and bottom were even with the edges of the album, I pressed down on the paper to ensure it would stay in place. I then removed the backing off of the rest of the tear tape and pressed it in place. NOTE: The back and front of the album may be a little different in width, so make sure you measure both wallpapers to ensure your pieces are long enough.
I used Frost King vent covers from Home Depot (sorry the price went up since I bought mine a couple of years ago as they're now almost $9.) www.homedepot.... I cut each to 6 x 9" and slid them into the sleeves and they fit perfectly, even using two with the white sides back to back. When you haven't put any dies inside the sleeves will magnetize to each other but once you put dies on both sides, they won't.
I recommend using tabs to divide your die sections by category but couldn't find the link to them on Dollar Tree where I bought mine, but you still could find them in your local store. If not, you can always make your own tabs. The easiest way is to take a circle punch 1 1/2" to 2" and cut out white or light colored circles then fold them in half and glue them to the edge of the page with the flat edge sticking out from the page about 1/2".
I cut the magnetic vent covers to 6 x 9" and adhered the white sides to each other then slid them into each of the 8 die sleeves that came with the album. You can buy different sleeves from lifescraft on the page where you order the cover. There's a drop down box that allows you to change your sleeves from full pages to 1/2 page inserts so two dies fit per page or 4 to a page...the pages are the same size as mine, but you can slip smaller dies into them.

Thanks, I'm hoping so too. Neither of our friends have diagnosis yet, which is scary, and I still don't have an appt with the surgeon in Cleveland. I hope I can get the surgery done soon as I'm walking on a broken leg since I can't use a walker or crutches, so I worry I'll snap the plate they put in last summer...Really appreciate your note.

Hi Sandy. It is great to see you back. I love this storage album. You covered it beautifully. And the vent idea was brilliant. It will be so useful for your dies. Hope you are feeling better ❤

I really struggle in the craft room as I can't put my foot up so my lower leg swells. I wanted to decorate the outside of the album but was exhausted just doing the little bit I did...and I cut everything days before so I had no excuse to be so tired. I will say I loved those wire snips as I can never get them to cut dies apart and was SO happy that these ones worked. YAY. I'm going to email you about another collaboration. I ordered a set of Christmas tree dies and temu sent me two..I'll send you photos to see if you're on board.

I like using the vent covers for dies too. I bought a bunch from Amazon. My storage place for the unused ones is kind of weird, but I don’t forget where I put them. My door is metal so I stick them on the back of my door.

Genius storage idea! Hope all is well with you. My femur that broke last year rebroke by itself and so now I'm looking to have a significant surgery to fix it...not excited about it.. Had to find a surgeon willing to do it and the surgeon my doctor found has a long waiting list which isn't great for me since I can't use a walker or crutches so transfer by stepping on my bad leg when moving from the wheelchair to bed or bathroom. I worry doing that...Wishing things were sometimes easier.

@@craftingforalmosteveryone I’m so sorry about your leg breaking again. I know that has to be devastating after all you went through the last time. Hopefully you can get on a waiting list in case there is a cancellation and can have the surgery sooner. Life apparently likes to kick you in the teeth, but you are a strong woman who makes the most of your life with a smile on your face and a loving generous heart. You will definitely be in my prayers for a quicker surgery, a very successful surgery, and a complete recovery.

Thanks for such a hopeful message. Just heard they won't get me on the schedule until next week and that's just for the first office visit and no idea how far back that pushes my surgery. I am glad that Rich and I always anticipate things going badly, so when they go well, it's a good surprise.

I can't tell you how many snips I've bought and how none of them worked for me...these were winners, for sure. I really liked using the wallpaper samples and will be using them for all kinds of things in the future.

Glad you liked it. I really recommend you go to a paint store and get free samples of wallpaper as they're bigger and can be used for so many things.

So good to see a video from you it's been a while, I hope you and Rich are doing well.
I knew about the magnet sheet from Home Depot or Lowes.
I have kinda the same system on the storage for the dies. But I used clear pencil case from the Dollar Tree and put them in a binder again from the Dollar Tree with magnet sheet. The pencil case works well because they have a zipper.

Good idea Terrie. I haven't been doing videos as my leg re-broke just from walking on it...so now I'm back in a wheelchair and they're trying to find a really good surgeon that can handle fixing it as it will involve a lot more metal...trying not to panic but it's scary.

@@craftingforalmosteveryone My gosh Sandy you can't catch a breather from healing. I hope you find that surgeon to fix that leg. I wish you the best my friend,

We're trying not to panic about this surgery, as it's going to be a big one. Probably going to take out my artificial knee and put in a new one that has a long rod attached to it that they can shove it through the femur until it reaches my artificial hip stem at least, that's what might happen...they might also take off the plate on the side of my leg or leave it there. I could stay in a wheelchair forever and not have surgery but eventually that same plate will break as I can't use a walker or crutches because of my wrists and elbows, so I always have to transfer from the wheelchair by putting some weight on that leg. No easy decisions but we have two friends with serious issues and doctors can't figure out what's wrong with either of them and that's more scary to me. One's face is numb and his tongue is swelled to the point he sounds drunk when he talks and his face is droopy like he had a stroke, but didn't. My girlfriend is losing muscle mass and they don't know why and her lungs aren't recouping from a cold and her doctor is considering lung cancer, so I consider myself lucky that we have a clear path. The other thing is that I am used to all of these health things and our friends are not. My girlfriend has no concept of what she will face if this is lung cancer and her ignorance at this point, is bliss. .
