I used this paint in the eggshell the other week and the colour was Inca orange so I was a bit worried about the opacity but I was well Impressed, used it on mdf built in wardrobes gave it a haft primer and 2 top coats of the eggshell 👌🏻👌🏻 was a joy to use, Good gear! Looking forward to using the emulsion 👍
the emulsion is so nice to use, it is amazing stuff
love Haft Primer hard to beat it on MDF 👍👍
Used this product a few times now. Not tried the eggshell paint. But this gear is the business. Brilliant to work with, no flashing, no framing. Excellent. Going to recommend it to all my clients.
+Steven Mcfarlane Back to how Dulux used to be imo, what do you think?
@@DecorDev hi. Agreed it’s certainly premium. Although it’s not cheap I think it’s approx 20 quid less than F and B. None of the F and B nonsense about needing their special undercoats before emulsion work. That’s a good one. I usually use a 4 inch roller over my cut ins . No need with this I found, paint flows lovely. No framing at all. I’ve only recently, last 3 years, went back to Dulux.
I use a lot of Armstead it’s great to work with. I buy their durable Matt. It’s cheaper than Dulux vinyl Matt. Cheers
Been in the trade since 1975. Just use Dulux Heritage Butter Cup colour in a 1824 house Lounge after stripping the wallpaper. 2 coats on top of a miss coat of white matt. It is fantastic, great coverage, solid smooth finish. Good range of colours.
I totally agree I love using it. What is your normal wall paint?
Used midnight teal on an accent wall recently and couldn’t fault it. Flowed lovely and the opacity was as good as it gets. Wouldn’t touch Dulux normally but this gear is brilliant. They know there’s a massive market for F&B style paints.
I agree, I love the Heritage range a massive improvement from Dulux but at a cost as you say.
I’m a commercial vehicle painter and the same situation happened in my industry. We had some beautiful paints, but they were all phased out on highly dubious grounds and lots of backhanders from the big EU companies who wanted to dominate the paint supply market here in the Uk.
The new paints aren’t a patch on what we were using 20 years ago, but as you might guess, the prices have all gone up.
I’d also say that being forced to move to products that are harder to use and don’t give the same quality result has removed a lot of my pleasure in doing the job. David (Leeds)
Johnstones perfect Matt any colour close matched, scrubbable durable and dead matt flat, can touch up no problems.
Not tried it but I might give it a go?
I got sent some as a competition win through the decs forum that I'm using on my own gaff as a year this week. Loved the colour range when I got sent it, and after seeing this, really looking forward to giving it a shot!
I am sure you will.love it. let me know your thoughts 👍👍
@@DecorDev finally got to use it last week, lovely paint to use. Was worried when painting that it might end up framing, but went on in 2 and the finish was lovely! Would share a pic but UA-cam's comments section being what it is... 😂 Question is, could I justify the price tag that goes with it to a customer... 😂
Tbh I think all trade paints were better twenty years ago , can’t remember having any problems
Now it’s just all flashy greys and grinny colours and stippling and framing
Pre voc far better gear
Totally agree!!! What brands have we lost over the yers?
Deluxe are playing catch-up? They have focused on the diyer probably because it’s a bigger market for them.
Most punters don’t even consider the paint quality just the colour!
I think you have a good point tbh, a lot like Farrow and Ball?
Totally agree , thanks for the vid
glad you enjoyed it, have you used it yet?
I agree but cherry truffle is brown
A LITTLE THING I DO SOMETIMES RE PAINT PVC WINDOWS INTERNATIONAL ALL PURPOSE PRIMER AND THEN UNER COAT AND GLOSS WEATHER SHIELD HAPPY DAYS LOOK NEW JUST USE SHORT HAIR GLOSS ROLLER
Hello mate i’ve been on the brushes for more than 20 years and over the last 3/4 years i’ve been having problems with my Dulux paint going off very quickly after being opened which I don’t remember this ever happen years ago. I’m not too sure but I think they’re not allowed to put as many chemicals in pain anymore so I’m not sure if paint last as long? I use a lot of diamond matt and pure brilliant white and once opened within a couple of weeks it smells like cheesy feet when I apply it to the walls. Have you found this or have you experienced this with your paints?
I have found the same thing. Have been very disappointed with results until I used Heritage. Not using Dulux much anymore and do not understand where Akso Nobel are going. Used their products in Europe and very impressed so what is their game plan?
I agree it is a bit confusing tbh
Tikkurilla Optiva range for me thanks. Fed up with Dulux and Johno's. Heritage range just an excuse to charge more isn't it?
Well now that you say it 😉😉😉
How dose it compare to barrow and ball taking the price off the table which is the best?
+Wayne Thompson This is one of the very few Dulux products I use regularly. I would use it over F&B every time.
@@DecorDev for that reason if you don't mind me asking? And there is also a different between the b&b estate and modern isn't there. I'm soon to be painting my newly plastered cottage and I want a good quality finish and longevity.
How much was the 5litre
About £50.00 from Dulux Decorators Centre
Theres no reason why dulux should have gone down hill since akzobel took them over they got all the formula's off ICI and akzobel made sikkens still before akzobel owned crown and the same time as buying dulux but a law said they had to sell one
I know quite a few decorators that will very much disagree.
@@DecorDev yeah I agree thats it gone down hill but there's no reason for it apart from oil based paints the rest should be good if not better but its not johnstones is best for emulsions and a lot of other things these days and palatine paints are the only firm that still do good oil paints dulux vinyl matt nowadays is one of the last paints id want to be using
