- I don't know what happened to my previous video which mysteriously disappeared from my UA-cam channel .
But this gave me a chance to remake the video in a better setting than last time.
Great video, thank you. Any idea where you get the right washer?
Nobody can make your solution work without the ring dimensions... 2mm thick ok, but what diameter ? Thank you !
Ok it's 2 mm thick but what's the diameter of the ring?
what is the material and thickness of the additional ring? thanks
What's the ID and OD of the ring?
what is the thickness of the new ring you put?
The thickness of the ring you said was 2mm but what are the other dimensions outside and inside diameters?
I wanted to ask you a question Jeff! When doing this operation on my Nikon D500, will it not rub against the mirror when shooting a photo with the back of the lens being inserted a little inside it? Thank you
The link is not working
Where can I buy the rings?
Thank you kindly.
Where did you get the ring? I also seen a few videos where they're using some thing speaker wire
Sorry for the late reply, yes, speaker wire may work but can compress and affect focus to infinity a little.
i see you never answered the people before about where to purchase ring...same question??? Thanks
Sorry. I don't always get notifications hence I have no idea that people have even asked me questions.
The ring thickness I used is 2mm thick.
Some say 1.8 or 1.9, but 2mm seems to work fine for all my customers who ordered it from my eBay store (omegamadjeff)
Cheers
Can you send link to eBay store? Also I’m having a difficult time of unscrewing the parts you explain.. any suggestions? Thanks for response! Adam
@@AdamGell Hi Adam, here is the link to my eBay store.
Regarding the lens, try wearing rubber gloves and grip the front section and rear section. Give it a good twist. Give that a try as these lenses do get seized a bit. Cheers

Thanks very much for your help!!🙏
I have a Helio 44 13 blades with a speedbooster and can't get infinity focus, do you think this will help any infinity focus issues?
Hi, the Helios 44 13 blades should definitely work with the ring like in the video. Just unscrew the rear element block and put it in.
Thank you!
Guys, what is the size of the ring? Any one knows?
what should be the thickness of the ring, wire to use
2mm ring.
What ring did you use
It was a 2mm thick ring that I used.
My name is Jeff
I opened my lens and the ring wasn't even there!
The last owner must have opened it and lost it.
It's all good in theory and you get a further focus. But... Focusing trough a viewfinder do not give me good confirmation because I changed the focal plane for sensor, but the mirror focus system is half closer! It's no good. And also it seems that I don't get the same Helios bokeh
Thats not how it works, this modification affects the focus both in the viewfinder and the sensor equally. Maybe there is some other problem with your lens, e.g. a previous owner reassembled it incorrectly.
@@RoryGamble I did exactly as explained but it worked only on live view. Trough viewfinder is no good. Lens was my grandfathers, original, not altered.
@@matija1984 Maybe the diopter adjustment on the viewfinder was off? If you see something different on screen versus through viewfinder it cannot be the lens at fault.
@@RoryGamble no, it's not the diopter... It is realy not about what I see when I'm taking a photograph, but what I get as a result! When I get focus confirmation trough viewfinder and take a photo I get a photo out of focus! On the other hand when I do it on live view i get it right and I can reach infiniti focus.
@@matija1984 So use live view instead of viewfinder. Atleast you achived infinity.
What diameter ring did you use?
