    “This is not a meritocracy...just because you have three internships doesn’t mean you’ll get a job.” That’s wisdom speaking. Great insight!

      Not going to say I'll never have paid courses, but right now my website and all of the material I post on LinkedIn is free and there to help the next generation of engineers see success in their careers.

    Summarized
    1. Nothing is guaranteed(best grades, internships), has everything to do with networking
    Develop networking, start early;
    “Prepare for the hurricane”
    2. Be open; Things won’t always go as they plan out
    Book: “So good they can’t ignore you “
    Develop skills and grow and then decide what industry to pursue. Don’t be so close minded
    3. Public Speaking; Toastmaster; Confidence when Speaking; Will help with interviews and leadership positions; All about communicating your ideas the most efficient.
    4. Interviews: Take creative class (Writing) Improve on writing, Will help with writing reports and conveying ideas simpler.
    5. Landing Job: How to be successful
    2 Tips:
    1st Engineering management is different from Hands on Engineer; know that it’s not the same.
    2nd Engineering degree is just a foundation; continue to grow and obtain licenses and learn.
    Look at the path of engineers that are 5 years ahead of where you want to be and replicate what they did.
    Leave a like! 😁

    Fuck yea! Energy Efficiency and Energy!!! I have my associates in Renewable Energy Technology and absolutely love the field as well as all things energy related. Now that I'm back in school for Electrical Engineering, I'm focusing primarily on Power systems obviously as well as a sub focus on Communications with a minor in physics. I would love to know if Sol has any opinions on any good books or resources related to Energy or energy or energy efficiency

      I would highly recommend you check out some of the books from the Association of Energy Engineers (AEE), they put out some great material. Also, since you are in EE, I believe IEEE has an energy focus section and they should have some additional materials as well. Feel free to connect on LinkedIn and I'm happy to share more info on the energy efficiency/energy engineering world.

    I'm in my 3rd year, and I'm feeling worried and confused. I haven't settled on what engineering field to focus on. I do have some top choices. Being 36 years old, I am considered a career changer. Due to the fact that I've worked in building maintenance for 13yrs.
