This is so beautiful one almost doesn’t see the dangers or difficulties in this hike. The green land, clear blue ocean & skyline w/ soft clouds. Just beauty w/ the rays of light you captured & mist of fog it’s a paradise. The sounds of water, brush as you walk & birds. It charms all my senses. I can feel, smell, hear, taste & see.
Beautiful cinematography with romantic nuances.. My favourite kind of story. Great to see both of you happily enjoying the moment together. Thank you for sharing this wonderful trip
Hi Eric and Christy, loved this video version of the Kalalau Trail. We’re kayak/camping Napali in a couple of weeks, should be fun. Thanks for capturing and sharing your adventure. 🤙🏽
@@eric_hanson Just some extra planning involved, two nights at Kalalau, we hiked the trail a year ago. Going to explore Honopu, two nights at Milolii, ending at Polihale. Should be fun!
Awe, the bananas are still not ripe! You are just going to have to keep coming to these beautiful tropical places and filming it all for us, chasing all the rainbows, until you get there at the right time!
Beautiful job....if I were a critic. But, since I'm a schmoo and Kauai is my favorite island, I tip my hat and says grand THANK YOU! SIMPLY....BEAUTIFUL.
Absolutely stunning! Thank you so much for sharing! What time of the year did you do this hike? I am pleasantly surprised you appeared to have such solitude! Did you see any other hikers?
This was right at the beginning of December. Kind of a quiet season in between holidays. There were other hikers out there but it was actually pretty quiet.
@@eric_hanson we are going to kalalau trail June 17th. Do you think it’s actually as scary as people make it out to be? I ask because my wife is similar to yours in that the fear of heights is there. Any thoughts?
Eric and Christy, this was your best cinematic work ever, every scene, every capture was outstanding! Thank you!!!
Wow! Well shoot dang, I appreciate that so much!
Absolutely stunning! Thank you for sharing!

It's a little experimental for me. But thank you! I'm definitely drawn to videos like this.
What a masterful presentation my friend, this was truly spectacular cinematography! 👏👏

I see a video, and press like even before I start watching it! Your videos are an alternate reality! Thank you to both!🌳
haha that's my favorite! Much appreciated.
Wow. Just, wow 🥰 stunning.
Aw thanks friend!
Stunning!! Fantastic video. Thanks for sharing. 👍254
Thank you so much!
Great video! The scenes were exactly like i enjoy watching the nature, only without a camera. I really felt like hiking alongside you!
My goal with these videos is to help people feel like they are right there on the trail!
You two are wonderful, but the rocky cliffs were scary and your cinematography of paradise was superb I enjoyed. 😊
Those cliffs are no joke! It's actually quite a dangerous trail. But such a wonderful place.
Amazing! Just beautiful cinematography….what a wonderful video😍
I love to hear it, thank you!
Stunning.

Stunning work as usual!
Thank you my friend! Much aprpeciated.
Unbelievable landscapes! If I did this trip I'd have withdrawal symptoms from missing the scenery once I got back home. 😩😩
I mean, I feel that. I miss the incredible beauty of Kauai!

Your opinion counts no matter what! Thank you!

Thanks Eric. I felt my heart rate come down.
What was your backpacking chair, the Nemo once again?
The Nemo chair is the Moonlite Elite. It's great! (Although in this video I'm using the Helinox chair Zero)
Editing is fantastic. Quality superb! What camera did you use?
Thank you very much! This is shot on the Canon R5.

What camera are you using now? I know you had a little gopro thing, maybe it was Ace? Did you like that?
This was all shot on the Canon R5. Yep, I still use the Insta360 Ace Pro for some shooting, but the R5 is better for the cinematic stuff.
@@eric_hanson Thank you! Beautiful video!
