Decades ago, a university did a study on visualization. I’m old and can’t remember which school, but the study took 30 students and put them in a dark room with the lights dimmed and quiet throughout the room as each participant sat with closed eyes, envisioning throwing a free throw shot and making it every time. Swish through the rim clean, shot after shot. For one hour every day for a month.
Then another group of 30, spent and hour every day at the free throw line throwing the ball at the hoop. They improved over the month and then they had a competition between the two groups.
The folks who sat in a dim quiet room mentally envisioning throwing shot after shot clean through a swishing net, did just that. They crushed the ones who had been practicing every day in the brightly lit gym, but a huge margin.
Now, decades later hearing these stories from these inspirational vets, it works folks. It really makes a difference to envision doing a job well.
Thanks for your service gentlemen and thanks again for sharing this interview.
    Quite a story.!.

I think the 30 students practiced 1 a week for hour and envisioned for 30 min a day. I heard this also. Wonder if it’s actually true! 😂

You guys talked about PTSD. I'll say I know pilots who know they have PTSD and won't see anyone due to losing their FAA medical and not being able to do a job they love. The FAA will ground a pilot and you may or may not get your medical back. Without the medical you can't fly for a living at least. Sad because many can function and fly without any meds while controlling PTDS. Many do it right now.
Another FAA medical issue can be if a person reports they were on meds, as a kid,, due to ADHD. Yet as an adult hasn't used meds even since they were a kid. Ryan, sure hope you can obtain an FAA medical and earn your CFI.

❤️‍🩹At least I know I’m not alone now I’m at the very beginning of my journey with my son, being in the army, and I as well watch all of these channels and stories, and I guess it makes me feel closer to him as well. He just left for Germany two days ago And celebrated his 19th birthday in flight after having just completing AIT Two weeks ago in Alabama, that’s why I said the beginning of our journey. I’m super proud of him and so excited to be a part of it also, knowing I did a great job raising him as a single mom this is the first time I ever heard someone else say That watching these channels and listening to these stories to feel closer to their child. At least I know I’m not crazy and overbearing 🙏🏼❤️🤍💙 thank you all for your services and your every sacrifice! 🫡

Man I feel stupid now. What an amazing journey. So much respect for you guys. But damn that manscaped commercial is repped on all the best channels. War war war artful shaving war war. I watch these each day possible trying to stay close and remember my own family’s gone Talented Warfighters. Thank you every day you put these together. & RIP those traveled on. Great to finally hear the hosts story. Honest and touching talk about avoidance, regret, and ptsd. I was there on 9/11 and every day regret I was too much of a train wreck to get in at the recruiter. My grand was in the first scout sniper school after his time on Guadalcanal, more islands followed, pow stuff in northern China and oss. I fell further from the tree of other friends and family but the story’s hit home. To all of you who stepped up after that day (all my heart) and my family’s respect. Words aren’t even enough at all.

ah-64s where also tasked with killing as many as possible of the SAM missile sites they could before the first planes could come in even the stealth aircraft. they made it possible for stealth bombers to have a pathway far enough away from radar to go unseen. And for wild weasels to be the ideal distance away to shot and not be shot and cover the shock and awe strike.

I don't quite know how to word this but I feel that the significance of these stories will come full circle someday as the history of our country has become sort of a forgotten thing via education and liberal mindsets, To bring these guys from Vietnam to the podcast is in many cases the first time these guys were able to talk about their journeys. There was no help for them PTSD wise?? These programs not only preserve these stories but also show that its ok to talk about the struggle alot of us have had in coming home. They have helped me massively in my own journey. The years are flying by and we have lost most of our WW2 guys and I think it's great that for the future these stories be where it all started. I'm sure that rambling bumble probably makes no sense but I guess a simple THANK YOU would have been sufficient 😂

I honor Ryan Fugit, as I honor all who have served. I wish I could share my battle to become a USMC Corpsman at my potential induction in 1969. My insistence to enlist Navy was refused. It was at my pre-induction physical. But, I defended my religious faith, always had; with my Board with documented history of faith and rejection of killing, unless it was to protect an "innocent "" or to protect a patient in combat ( already had expertise in medical matters) was a weapons expert and survival expertise. It made no sense to me because I was offering a 4 year enlistment and a desperately needed knowledge.
