The security dude at that first quarry was a legend. That’s how to interact and deal with a problem.
With the hoodie “help for heroes”
Andy is the real safety team.
Love that he just wanted to make sure the lads were OK; mentally as well as physically. Probably worried they were lost or had lost their minds or something.
That's the Devonians for you
If this was in the USA the security dude would go full Karen. ESCALATE!!!!!!!
I ❤ Andy

@@Bomb6A9Head someone with a pfp like that cant judge what's lame or not.
I can just imagine Andy’s confusion when he said he’ll tail you guys to make sure you’re safe, then watched you proceed through the thicket while he drove in the truck next to you 😂
...only to come out on the other side of the hill that he just drove around.
Thanks for having me boys it was a real pleasure, which is more than can be said for the mission..
Big respect once again for giving this challenge the big’n!!
Hello mate!!
Big respect to you for marking and finishing so many of these. Looks like incredibly hard work, and your (and storror's) resolve is inspiring!
New mission on the 23rd :) can't wait
I dont think they want to talk to you lmao
Routing them through a working quarry, trespassing in an area where someone is legally responsible for the safety of everyone there, seems quite irresponsible... Couldn't you make a line that didn't do that so much, so they could actually do it without breaking the law or fucking with working dudes? They were cool about it, but they didn't have to be..
Tom never made these look easy, but Storror are proving just how difficult this is, and how goated GeoWizard truly is.
This is the best video concept they've done
Shows how hard these truly are and what a trooper Tom is to muck through all these straight lines!! Keep it up boys, good work!
Couldn't have said it better. Was thinking exactly the same.
So true these lads are top level professional athletes and it goes to show how impressive Tom's efforts have been
Its really insane, also counting in that on most attempts he did it solo, except for Verity in the car
A hard journey , a fellowship , a wizard.
Someone should write a book about this.
😂
Tbh I’m sad callum didn’t say, “this is the farthest I’ve been from the shire”
Or 3.
Both quarry dudes were legends. Didn’t over react, just cared about your safety. One of the coolest/hardest challenges I’ve seen on UA-cam to date. Absolute nutters.
I have to wonder how far some hi-vis and hard hats would have got them? And if you want to get serious, a clipboard...

@@Foxxy-td7ng Nah I hate to say it but there are some awful farmers near where I live near Dartmoor, who not only won't let you on their extensive land (that they do shit with) but are also fence off legal public pathways and intimidate you if you try to point it out. Yeah i am actually glade that geo's OST is more present in this episode :D
i mean come on ya gotta ! Ya know ?
The vibes!
As big of a fan of Storror as I am, I have to agree that it is pretty stupid to try to sneak through an active quarry, especially if it was in operation. I come from the industry and it would be a nightmare to have a bunch of guys strolling through without anyone knowing. We could be doing control detonations, there is often heavy traffic of mobile equipment and if you have ever been in the cab of a yellow iron, you cannot hear anything, so if you are screaming the driver will not hear you. Not to mention there could be sections of the quarry that are considered unstable and off-limits, the list goes on. In my opinion not worth the risk. That being said these quarries seemed pretty uneventful, I was kind of surprised. I am used to more full-on activities. And as crazy as it may sound when the guy says you can die, one of the metrics of the safety team is fatalities. And yes, one thing that we work really hard to do is to bring the number of fatalities to zero. So I can sympathize with those guys.
Other than that, great video!!!
Agreed, can't blame the security guy at all. Bit unrealistic to expect them to just walk through an active mining site .
Definitely I live near a quarry and pretty consistently can hear and FEEL the dynamite go off (it's about 4 miles from where I live.) I would never just walk through one, very dangerous.
Beautifully explained.
yeah I think on this occasion the guy just couldn't let them through, Geowizard shouldn't have had a route which went through an active quarry. Geowizard is infamous for going straight through things that are extremely dangerous to the point where it is irresponsible. Maybe the most infamous one is where he insisted on going straight through a tiny patch of peat bog and nearly drowned in the process.
near where i live there is an active clay quarry. i'd often go there to play and run around, especially as a kid. there were never any detonations there, though, only the digging machinery. i wonder if the type of material also influences whether detonations will be used. i imagine a stone quarry wouldn't work with just the machinery.
I love Toby's attitude. Torn pants, bad sleep, bad ankles to come, and still gets excited when he sees the wizard's beard
Hahaha
I loved how they pretended to run through security at the last quarrel with zero energy in their walk .LOL like ultramarathon runners in the desert who get delusions "yeeea no problem we just jump away from them like we always do...never back down" ..until they saw the 6,5 tall bearded security with a cozy pick up ride and they just went "meeeeh thx mate" lol.
honestly big respect..i once walked 14 kilometers or 7 miles from a small city with train station to my birth village to visit my grandma in her house, but at the trainstation i found out the next bus goes the next day and i didnt have a driving license and there were no taxis around ...so i just walked with my suitcases and backpack through the austrian styrian wildlife . the street was too fast and small i was afraid a car would hit me so i just wondered into the field and from the fields into the woods, endless rivers, another field, some parkinglots, lakes , jumping fences and rivers etc..first it is existing like in your childhood playing cowboy and indians in the woods and fields with the neigbours kids and enjoying nature...but afte the first mile you realize you r fucked...
24 miles is way too much lol
Toby's a gem, he's got such a pure outlook.
He's positive to a fault, really. Should've absolutely taken a minute to disinfect and bandage that gash, but kept going instead. Glad it seemingly didn't have any lasting consequences but that was honestly a dumb risk to take.
That's what we'd like to see. Strong mental
Storror: "You can even go there months later & try it yourself. See if you can beat us."
Geo: "Fuck That!"
The greatest ending ever! This series was insanely addicting. I enjoy hiking, overlanding & bikepacking, so this was right up my alley. Awesome!

The rocks at the top of hills are called Tor, they’re from erosion as the surrounding earth is weathered away due to the tip of the hill receiving the harshest conditions, with no higher up earth to fall on top they then remain bare.
That's most of the story. The rest is a bit more grim...

All of the workers and security guards in both quarries were unexpectedly friendly and worried about the guys. Nice to see!

Great idea Trey!

An absolute classic
These videos have such a seamless bridge of the Geowizard and Storror styles, I love it!
Part 1 and 2, Drew has been killing me with the commentary hahaa
I love Drew's sudden attitude change after putting on the Wellys! What a complete 180° from when they were all at the top of the hill with the rocks in the rain 😂. Then not too long after, he's having an emotional encounter with a feral horse. "I don't know if I'm alright anymore." I feel ya my man
Drew with the most adult male age 20-35 reaction to wearing Wellies.
Only putting them on once you're already soaked.
Hi Drew, Tors ( hills with rocks on top) are actually volcanic geological features. The rocks are the remains of chambers that were originally filled with liquid hot Magma.(say it in the style of Dr Evil😁). The rocks are dolerite, which is caused when rhyolite volcanoes( like mount St Helens and Krakatoa) cool. They are a very dangerous type of volcano because the magma is super sticky and gloopy. Meaning you get obstructions in the volcano that eventually explode in a massively violent way. The loudest sound in recorded human history was the explosion of Krakatoa!
damn even the ones in dartmoor?
Thats cool!
@@amiwan9596 yep, the ones in South west Wales too. The Bluestones at Stone Henge are Dolerite that was transported to Wiltshire from Pembrokeshire.
One of my favourite geography lessons in school growing up on dartmoor. Felt special being part of such an ancient environment.
They're part of the big ol granite slab under the southwest, the reason they got layers is as the dirt on top got removed all the pressure from the weight was too so the expanded up and made the funky cracks
The ending was funny af😂 “you can even try it yourself” - “fuck that”😂
SO nice how much support you give each other! Especially not making Sach feel bad for not being able to continue! What a friendship you guys have
The face Drew made at 40:45 when the security guard mentioned "rules and regulations" had me rolling 🤣
If only there was a card could carry or something that can show a business that you've waived the right to hold them liable for any injuries you might sustain on the property, at least for those with that as their main concern. (ex. in the U.S can carry a card/mark on back of driver's license that you're an organ donor, for the benefit of EMTs since organ donation is time-sensitive)
Also, probably not the best idea to have the line go through an ACTIVE mining site, opposed to an abandoned one. Google Maps only updates so often.
@@Vaeldarg It's a nice idea, but if you die on their private land, the land is going to need to be sealed off and an investigation occur etc, potentially forcing the business to close for however long is necessary. It's as much for their benefit that you're not allowed there as it is yours.
I really like how committed Benj is all the time... even when he says no more enthusiasm, continues to motivate and push everyone forward, always laughing, always positive. Also big up for Andy, definitely honorary member of the SST!
I was literally thinking the same thing, Benj was definately the glue holding it all together

Big ups to you guys!! My 7 year old daughter and I have been following the channel for the past year. Part of our bedtime routine. Keep it up! She asked me last night if I wished I had your jobs! I was like, uh, yep!
Your channel and GeoWizard's are my two personal favourite, and seeing this collaboration was immensely good fun to watch!
To answer Drew's question, the rocks formed on Dartmoor from bubbling magma under the Earth, eventually pushing the granite to the surface (roughly 309 million years ago, depending on who you listen to).
I grew up in a town on the Moors, and have many a fond memory running around across its barren scapes. You showcased all its aspects in its entirety, from steep hills to small streams, and allowed me as an expat now living in Amsterdam, to enjoy a soggy, beautiful, nostalgia...
I've been watching you guys for many years, and this video really bought it home for me. So thank you for that :)
On another note, the perseverance you showed when faced with the unforgiving nature of the challenge, in all its textures, speaks for itself...
I love how all the guys are super supportive of each other! They are so supportive when Sacha decides to call it a day. Such great friendship is what ultimately pulls them through.
The Storror team camaraderie is unlike anything the world has seen outside of a special forces team. These blokes are downright inspirational 🎉

Great change up on content with still a hint of parkour. Another banging video from the boys. I've been struggling mentally lately and these videos have helped me smile some and escape my mind awhile.
That man (Andy) at 1st quarry was awesome! I don't know the man but we need people like him in this world. Evaluated the situation, saw nothing fishy is happening and decided to help
Yeah, I understand the second dude's position, but he could have accompanied them through the site along their line to ensure that there weren't any issues. Andy was super nice about it all, I suspect the fact they were out of the quarry by the time he caught up with them made a wee bit of difference though.
@@Si74l0rd who the hell has time for that mate. As much as i love the boys and what they do. I would'nt turn the quarry upside down to make it safe for them to pass and what not. Fair enough if i could not catch em. In the end the quarry owner is responsible for their safety and what happens there. So fair game to him.
@@dreamwalks8200 He took the time to sit in a truck and chat for a while, and then drop them off outside the quarry. It wouldn't have taken much more time, and if he's security then it would liven up the day either way.
My point was more that health and safety isn't really the issue, it could have been done with his supervision and negated his reason for expelling them from the site. All the same he was friendly and gave them a lift. It's just a shame they were so close to the platinum line before the quarries, and between both sites it sorta negated two days of gruelling effort.
@@Si74l0rd You're entitled to nothing when trespassing, I found both responses to be mature and professional. In the first case I think they had already left the quarry so why would that guy have gotten mad anyway?
@@Si74l0rd Health and safety is at least 75% the issue, if it wasn't there wouldn't be any need to escort them out of the premises without following the line the boys were taking. Gotta remember the people working there have no idea who the Storror guys are and how they act, and the last thing they need is one of six strangers to hurt themselves on their private property.
It's also important to bear in mind that Geowizard and the Storror safety team have scoped the area as best as they can but they don't really know what is going on or what exactly they will run into.
As someone that loves hiking and bikepacking, gruesome trails can truly test a friendship. Small stuff can really grind your gears when you're knackered and haven't eaten a proper meal for hours. Truly snacking and proper foot wear is the most important part of travelling long distances.
Couldn't agree more. It's one of the reasons I love hiking alone but I'm always nervous of getting injured outta service alone. Always set check points to when I'll be checking in and where I'm hiking. Family knows 24 hours with no contact is time to send the search out which is a long time to lay somewhere hurt
@Matthew Murray Though I find it more enjoyable having a group of the right people, I would say that it is healthy to do solo trips from time to time.
The isolation and having only oneself to rely on does something to a person. It makes you introspective, which our modern conveniences and social media tend to prevent us from doing.
Damn, I sound like an old person, and I'm barely in my thirties.
Yeah, if they brought proper boots they would have had a much easier time. Especially with the uneven ground.

The bush Max is talking about at 14:17 is "gorse" and yes, it's the spikiest most murderous bush in the universe but it flowers all year round and its yellow petals make a vey nice coconut flavoured tea.
Edit: A little later Drew asks about rocks on hill tops. It's because the soil piled up over the bedrock washes downhill from the peaks of the hills exposing the rock below and over probably millions of years the weather breaks up the exposed rock through repeated freezing and thawing of rainwater on their surfaces leaving you with clusters of large and small rocks over the top of the hill, some of which also roll down a bit.
to add to that, far as I know Dartmoor was a volcanic region very very long ago so it's likely more rocky and harder rock than most hills. and for anyone that didn't know, the massive rock formations on the top are called tors and on Dartmoor are made of granite. nothing like sitting on top of a tor on a sunny day
Fun fact, horses eat gorse...madness.

millions of years LMFAO. your completly unaware that nearly all of the united kingdom was artificially moved and shaped by men. to create the current geographic aesthetic. massive earth moving took place to change and shape the landscape. go watch aewar. theres even historical record documentation and photographic evidence of this fact. rocks on tops of hills in england are no different than what you see in a construction site when earth and debri moved is piled up. the bedrock or bottom layers end up on top as they are typically the last to be unearthed or moved.
Drew's little "woohoo" after Toby confirms they can fit through the crack had me rolling, there is NO joy in that, just exhaustion.

I would LOVE for you guys to do other challenges similar to this one, where parkour is involved but you have to go out of your comfort zone as well, that was brilliant
Absolutely love Andy mate.
Andy was a nice old boy asking if Josh was ok and if he wanted to rest in the van.
When Benji was in the car with that guy, the look on his face is priceless.
Like a little boy who'd been lost in the woods for days.
Pretty close to delirious
Storror Army loves Andy!! He's an actual legend!
Benj's max drew josh toby are beast big respect to Callum Sacha too
34:19 the way Josh looks at Benj 😂 I’ve watched this like 4 times and still can’t figure out what the goal was, just looks like he was pushing him 😄
i think benj may have lost balance and just needed something to hold onto but it genuinely just looks like hes tryna push josh off the edge for no reason 🤣
@@efipx yeah from what we see it's just straight attempted murder :D - coulda done with a few words on what happened there but i feel like you could tell the guys were just too tired for some of the usual stuff we've all come to expect. main other thing that comes to mind is the amount of time the camera was just filming drews face from waist height.
33:53 We now know what happened here
i think he was trying to follow closely behind him and then lost balance himself
Just casual attempted murder between mates nothing to see here 😂
Yo Andy was actually a straight up G.
He was so cool about the whole situation.
those bushes with the yellow flowers are gorse
Those two videos were mental! Good job lads !
I’ve felt like I could get along with the Storror boys, but hearing Toby talk about trees like that really solidified my feelings. Love you guys.
After all this, I'd love to see the boys (or some of them, those willing) to do a line with the wizard himself.
Also you gotta love Andy, absolute legend.
IKR i thought initially thats what this was going to be. that wouldve been amazing. plus what i find odd is that tom usually pre scouts the line and sets up caches for himself. i dont think they or him did that on this one. if they had things couldve gone alot differently. i think it needed a little more time. nevertheless it was awesome to see and quite the surprise. but more specifically what i for sure thought they would do and what i still think they should do is an URBAN STRAIGHT LINE MISSION. @Storror @GeoWizard
Wow absolutely MAD Mission you Guys! My biggest Respect! Well done!
When the rain starts it never stops!
15:27 Rocks are found on the top of the tors because the rocks are everywhere beneath the surface! Dartmoor was once volcanic and so formed loads of tough igneous rocks. Over time the rocks became buried, only on the top of the exposed hills weathering has eroded away the softer material leaving the weather proof rocks behind.
i ❤ Andy
There's a good chance the local farmers dug some rocks up for farmland and threw em on the hills too.
