Marty Willson-Piper & Peter Koppes interviewed by Steve Anthony on MuchMusic. I edited out the videos because they are already available in better quality here on UA-cam.
I have met both Marty and Peter and they are very approachable. Marty is such a well of musical knowledge. Love these guys. Best guitar duo in rock. Magic

Really? I met Marty as well and thought he was an arrogant asshole.
I've met Marty twice - once in 1999 or so and once in around 2003. If he would have looked at those times the way he looks here, I could not have even talked to him, at all. Now I can. Even on emails sometimes.
I'm a big fan of Marty - he always has time for everyone. I wouldn't say Pete was stuck up, I just think he's very shy and doesn't know how to react when interviewed; that said, he is much better now. He's an incredible guitar player too, very masterful, but tends to recede into the background because he isn't as 'showy' as Marty on stage.
Unfortunately I don't know that many appearances of The Church but my impression so far is that MW-P shows the music he plays and PK feels the music he plays. I might be wrong, of course, it's actually just a feeling I have when I look at their faces while playing. Both is great, there is no need to pretend anything you aren't. It's maybe their natural reaction when they are on stage. And although I am no musician, I think both are great musicians/singers. Can you imagine B. B. King running around while playing guitar? I can't, he was fantastic the way he was. On the other hand, I guess it's almost impossible for Angus Young to stand still. Also absolutely okay with me. 😊
I'm sitting here watching a young Marty Wilson Piper in this interview and looking at the picture of him now, on the right, in the video, "What's in my bag". Damn! Time has definitely flown by. I'm starting to feel old.
Both Peter and Marty were young in this clip and look like they could have been brothers or something, but over the years, Marty's appearance has changed more drastically than Peter's has.
@@avocate2017 Well, about 30 years have past. We all change more or less. 😉 But when I look at the four members now, I still see their younger versions in them, especially in their smiles.
Oh Dear -poor interviewer has had better days at the office. Boys are making him feel JUST enough uncomfortableness. Should have been better prepared. Excellent band.
The Church is incredible. Starfish was like a revelation to me as a young musician. Marty and Peter’s intertwining guitars and vocals just make that band soar. BTW the demographic is wrong. Marty is on the left and Peter is on the right. Also this interviewer is a clown. He’s condescending right from the start.
One of the greatest guitar duos of all time.

Great musicians/artists! The Church are phenomenal!

Peter is the one who def aged very graciously
Damn I'm jealous! All the all the members especially Peter back in the day were some seriously good looking men!
They were all so hot!
I used to stare at the cover of 'Heyday' and just wish i looked half as cool as the Church!
This is in Toronto, Ontario Canada.
HOW YA GOING MATE
yeah but all things considered that's a great mullet on the interviewer
At .50 they reversed their names.
Interviewer is a dolt. He’s probably managing a Costco now
And how hard was it to get proper chairs and microphones for everyone?
And to get their names right ? Geez.

Savvy I saw him interview Depeche Mode and it’s the cringiest interview I’ve seen. He doesn’t seem to care about being prepared. 🤣

0:50 ... ya got their names backwards there bro
Marty does not agree with Pete and I understand why.
Yeah, Marty and Pete weren't enjoying Steve Anthony much at all. Marty especially.
The interviewer has quite a bit of Harrison Ford about him, looks and even mannerisms
It's "they would have", not "they would of"
Fucked up audio
Interviewer tried so hard to be hip and cool. What a trainwreck. Just be yourself.
the interviewer looks extremely uncomfortable
