Every Dog's Guide to Complete Home Safety
Вставка
- Опубліковано 26 чер 2018
- This hilarious short animation offers over 40 safety tips for homes with infants and young children. The film's hero is a very earnest, somewhat pompous, but endearing dog called Wally. A "professional" in home safety, Wally is assigned to a house with an infant whose parents have little safety consciousness. Accidents and near-accidents succeed each other with lightning speed, constantly putting Wally to the test.
Directed by Les Drew - 1986 | 10 min

That's one careless family.
That blue dog, Wally is a lot smarter, wiser, more independent and careful than his owners.
Those people really shouldn't have kids
Fortunately, they didn't. They're just cartoons.
It's a wonder to me these people are still alive at this point.
On-par with Mindy's mom in "Animaniacs".
Or pets.
That kid also was an accident ;)
Oh my gosh I used to watch this growing up!
...how did Bernard survive to become an adult? Forget the 30-amp fuse in a 15-amp socket, what kind of brain donor *tapes up a broken circular saw?!*
He's like if Bowser and Sam were THAT dumb (considering the actor who voices Bernard voices those two).
Oh this takes me back. Way back when the Disney Channel was a pay channel my dad taped some stuff on a free showing time. This was on between "The Boy Who Could Fly" and "Flight of the Navigator." Even as a kid the sophisticated way the dog spoke in his head always made me laugh.
It's been close to 30 years since I watched this but it was so familiar since I watched it so many times.
Is it safe to assume that the parents were killed and the dog now has sole guardianship?
Might as well, but they did make a sequel to this film.
@@ChristopherSobieniak yeah & its not in here!
The father wasn't killed because he screamed falsely accusing the dog of destroying the house, but I don't know about the mother she probably survived, it's a cartoon after all.
I love old animations so much. I can feel the hard work put into this. You guys are the best for uploading!
That feeling you get when someone calls something from 1986 "old."
@@Timurlane100 it'd be a little silly to call it recent compare to what year we live in atm
@@pandaexpress7673 - By that standard, anything that isn't currently happening is old.
@@Timurlane100 almost 40 years ago dont you think its reasonable to call it old
@@xxalex423xx - Only if you're under 33 years old.
The dog really reminds of Courage the Cowardly Dog
If he had the brains of Mr. Peabody.
It’s nice to hear Harvey Atkins in something I haven’t seen before, rest in peace you absolute legend
"THE DOG'S LEARNING TO JUGGLE!"
It's a shame this didn't became a series all to itself. It felt like it had all the earmarks to be one!
I like how when they pick him up from the pet store at the beginning they decide to name him Wally but then when they get home they just call him “dog”. 😂
It’s the dad that keeps calling him dog instead of his name 😂
Did I just get tricked into watching a safety vid? Good animation!
I born in Asia,, never watch this kind of movies before.. But this takes me to my childhood somehow
RIP Harvey Atkin
I remember this short! This use to air on Disney Channel (with some edits) in the 90s segment, Lunch Box! At 6:03-6:50, 7:40-7:46, 8:28-8:32, and lastly, 8:54-8:58 for some reason (as well as the mentions of cocktail being muted) are when there were cuts when they use to broadcast this back in Disney Channel.
I remember that, Disney Channel also ran the short standalone with those edits. I recall the "emergency numbers" scene being omitted too and wondered if that was a case of them being concern that some kid would dial up those numbers on their phones. Ironically the baby being naked and falling out the window they didn't have a problem with!
watching this again, I noticed before the family picks up the dog, they're seen driving from a McDonald's off in the distance in that title scene!
I've remembered this being on The Disney Channel. It was also on Cartoon Network along its sequel that does with playground safety.
@@billmcdonnell79 I remember that too! Both were great shorts and it's only a shame this wasn't developed further.
@@ChristopherSobieniak There should be a third one, even a fourth?
I would like to see this redone today with Stephen Colbert or Steve Carrell as the voice of the dog.
...or Paul Giamatti...
8:37 scream is perfect
The dad looks like Markiplier and almost want a remake with him!
Thank u like this one miss it on cartoon Network
Another very good video.
the phone! this is vintage
These NFC films are wonderful.
This is my favourite NFB skit
This channel is just amazing
Yep, get aquatinted with all things Canada.
I love this short
2:05 why is there a moose in the middle of a city?
Well, it's Canada! I'm sure they just needed a quick gag. I'm more amused a McDonald's appears during the opening title of the short.
Oh wow, I remember this! It was something shown in school for home safety.
I remember this one too
Cool animation!!!😁❤
I think courage the cowardly dog and family guy was influenced by this short.
cool as.... thanks
really good
9:47 - 9:51 Come on, Bernard, Don't blame Wally for your stubbornness, ignorance and carelessness.
Reminds me of a Canadian version of Larry and Steve. A 1997 Cartoon Network short.
Parabéns muito bem feito a arte e o contexto, sou fã já, maravilha... de canal , ....
The dog 🐕 is a smart
The content reminds me of Family Dog and the art style reminds me of My Neighbors the Yamadas.
So this the origin story of Mr. Peabody.
Ótimo amei❤
They kinda predicted family guy at 9:43. A whole 13 years before the show came out.
What are the names of characters from Every Dog's Guide to Complete Home Safety?
0:01 What bird sounds are those?
7:06 Is that pampers diapers 1990s?
So much better than most Looney Toons! Reminds me of the cartoons they'd show on Pinwheel when I was a boy!
What do you mean most looney tunes? Are you talking about Wabbit or the Looney Tunes Show from 2011? Unless you're talking about them, I don't believe you.
Who's the fathers voice I know I've heard it before
Elleminster Brain family guy
Elleminster
Sam
From
Sam & Max.
The late Harvey Atkin - he played Sam on the Sam & Max: Freelance Police cartoon, King Koopa on the old Mario Bros. cartoons, and the Mordecai Richler character on YTV’s Jacob Two-Two series.
That was the late Harvey Atkin, which I think most would probably know him best as King Koopa from Dic's Super Mario Bros. cartoons.
@@ChristopherSobieniak Continuing role as the desk sargeant on Cagney and Lacey. He was in the original Meatballs movie, with Bill Murray. Lots of appearances in Canadian comedy series. I can't believe they spelled his name wrong!!
How did this didn't died before the dog? lol
Reminds me of Dilbert's pet dog. :o)
Is that voice Harry Roz from Sea Lab 2021???
nice
Couldn't have said it better myself
This came out in the 80s
The 90s wasn't much better kids. If you are watching this and was born within the last 20 years you are twice as safe than we were.
Well my house didn't have to deal with setting/changing fuses like in this film 40 years ago.
I just love that suicidal baby.
They made a sequel to this cartoon, though sadly the kid ends up being very different as a 5 year old in that one than he is here.
The baby isn't really suicidal, he didn't knows any better of what safe or not. There's a huge difference.
@@billmcdonnell79 That is true, of course compared to Bernard that is pretty wide!
@@ChristopherSobieniak Bernard is a pretty bad dad and dog owner. Wally is way smarter, reliable and responsible.
The husband Sound like sam from sam n max
Probably the same guy, he was voiced by the late Harvey Atkins.
Where can i get a dog like this?
Pomerania
8:37😂😂😂😂😂
I feel like I’ve seen this cartoon before. Was this on Disney Channel back in the 90’s?
Yes, apparently the program "Lunch Box" aired it, but I also remember it being aired standalone as filler between program breaks.
@@ChristopherSobieniak Same, and O Canada in the 90s.
@@Julayla NFB material always found a place on Pay TV channels like Showtime as filler during movie breaks.
seems like a prequel for peebody and sherman
Peabody you mean?
*PEEBODY*
You should upload a dogs guide to the playground, the only results I saw was one video showing clips of the the wife and another one is just vfx the whole thing in Spanish
Did that dog kidnap the toddler.
9:34 wtf is wrong with the boss's wife?
The origin story of Peabody and Sherman.
Wallace and Grommit. I could not watch any more. The humans made me sick.
