#2 using a wider grip on the bar (wider then usual) simply forces you to enlarge your input of muscular strength; it can be easily explained with the law of the lever (effort x a = resistance x b) a stays about the same, no matter how fart apart you position your hands, the resistance stays the same as well; if you enlarge b (your grip wideness) then the [effort] you have to put in increases as well
Ronnie Coleman was such another level to the majority of the top dudes today. He lifts so much more than for example current Mr Olympia Phil Heath. His muscle was all strength. I feel like alot of the top guys today are obviously strong but not as strong as they should be for being so damn big.
#1 would be that you can create the highest active tension in the lower part of the bench movement since this is the area of the muscles highest power potencial (which is approximately 120% of its natural length) I guess thats why many pro bb make deep partial reps when benching; markus' exercise is simply a different form (though his form isn't quite perfect for partial reps)
its difficult to explain because in english, the word "strain" describes both, the objective weight you are pressing, as well as the subjective feeling of the weight; but those are two completely different components the only thing changing in our example is the subjective feeling; objectively you are pressing the same amout of weight and have therefore the same amout of pressure on your shoulder joints
last but not least I want to mention that the strain on your shoulders stays the same and does NOT increase, as it is preached by many internet gurus including maxpf, it might feel that way but the only thing you actually feel is the increased amout of muscular effort you have to put into every rep; the strain on your joints stays the same (here a nice paradigm: if you're standing on a big scale, feet spread apart as much as possible, you still wont get any heavier than you are)
Take a weight, same weight. Hold it down at your side. Now take that weight and hold it straight out at your side. Same weight, different strain, dumbass.
Well, that's what I'm talking about. I'm actually comparing Markus to Jay & Ronnie. My friends actually did the same thing & they all thought that Markus looks better. Of course we're NOT judges, but "what was so wrong with his physique?" is my question to the judges.
generally speaking that´s true...but having them THAT far apart is at least let´s say unique...it puts tremendous strain on your shoulders....apart from that, that´s probably just some "special" variation for him and not his "normal" bench press
it doesnt exactely work that way, if your hands are more apart, you are simply using less of your ROM, that counts for both, tricep & chest, so none of those are relatively more activated (the reason why close grip bench press focuses relatively more on tricep lies in the exclusion of the adducent function of the chest) there still may be different reasons for why markus is benching that way
To me, I always thought that Markus Ruhl looked the biggest and the baddest out of them all. I've showed my friends some bodybuilding dvds in the past and they all agree that Markus looked the biggest and the baddest. I'm not sure why he never won the Olympia. I know that they judge you by proportion, symmetry, definition, mass, etc., but I always that that Markus looked complete. Can anyone with experience tell me why he never won???

When you can look and admire a physique back in the day 💪👌
What's there to admire about guys shooting site enhancement oil into their biceps triceps deltoids and traps...this isnt bodybuilding
collin355 it’s like Botox for bodybuilding ridiculously ,this is what should be banned in bodybuilding

I like the way how the bench is crying for help under Markus at 40:45
Seeing monsters going crazy is awsome

Risked his body for the trophies! Ronnie was dense but now hes in a wheel chair! Train smart but hard! Fine line
just love dorian yates training partner
Let’s get nastaye
I like it is part by part muscle video, really useful to get some ideas for my routines.

Dorian is one of the few IFBB with a good form.
estos tipos son realmente grandes pero algun dia...

Ahh the late 90s early 2000s when site enhancement oils took over the IFBB and ruined bodybuilding.
Pongan más videos de ejercicios si 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Jay cuttler don´t get old.
Solid work out video💪💪💪
ronnie coleman , flex wheeler , legends !
Jay going old school with the bandana.
You have forgotten about one thing. This movies are not supposed to educate you how to train. They show how pro bodybuilders live, eat, train etc.
Why is there no sound in Nasser's footage?
Flex had an awesome physique but dang he was arrogant! Should have won at least two Olympia’s.
damn whos the beast at 46:40? And anyone knows the song? Thx
Stalkyful I think its Jay Cutler
Matěj Ulč yea could be when i see the face thanks!
I understand why Marcus is doing the bench in that way, more your hands are closer to each other more tricep is use, more a part is more chest.
All is good bady
imagine all this guys with no chemistry on them hahahah they would be just regular guys in the gym hahaha
37:20...............I'm deaf now.
1:04:50 he don´t knew trainning. Bar in the middle of his head and the wrong position of your arms.
Yet he had one of the most over developed chest and shoulders of all time.. don't be ignorant. It works for him so leave it there
holy shit look at dobson in the back of ronnies squatting bit, brians looking huge
I swear i watch this video every night..
Jason Moss maybe you're just gay

Ronnie was strong but damn, his form makes my back hurt just watching him half the time.
those are called SHOULDER SNAPS!!
6:55 that little pants hahahaha wtf
7:26 - 7:48 DELETE !!! lol,,,,other than that great video

100% Natural
11:40 That´s called shaking the bar. Not one full rep made.
