Baekhyun forced a smile for us,EXO-L’S . Even though deep inside him his hurt but he never wants to show it, was difficult to hide it so he bursted out crying like me when I heard the news before.
When the one who's known to be always wearing a smile on his face to prevent others from feeling his sadness then burst suddenly in tears that must mean one thing he was hurt and sad to the point he can no longer suppress the sadness he felt with the usual reassuring smile ...and that really makes my heart ache ... people who laughs a lot and smile a lot are the ones who are sad the most but they wear the mask of hapiness to not make others worry about them but when that mask can't no longer be kept ...that means a sadness and sorrow waterfall ...I hope we will never see our EXO cry because of sadness but because they are happy

It was around this time that Baekhyun’s private life was exposed and some fans were furious that he was dating. Seriously, it was horrible. I saw calls for him to be taken out of EXO. The song Promise was written by the members themselves to the fans. I think what we are seeing here are all these pressures and emotions coming out when he’s singing those words to the fans. All this he could lose at any moment because who knows the future and how people will react to it. He is a good person and has a good heart and I hope he never ever has to feel that way again. As a side note I am so glad he has the members, the way they reacted to his distress was lovely to see, suho looked particularly affected.

I am a pandemic EXO-L, for me to know them more I watched all videos from the start, until this one hit me so hard. I'm late like 7yrs, but my heart ache like as an EXO-L I need to feel this pain, then after pain I just realized to my self that my heart as a EXO-L were more stronger. I love them more for being so patient, strong, despite all the struggle that they experienced before.

Baekhyun likes/loves Tao but he wasn't so close to him that he would start crying because of that. That year (2014) he had gone through a lot of struggles and hardships and tons of hate which had resulted in a dramatic breakup with the love of his life who was his everything (Taeyeon from SNSD) He had broken his "promise" to fans about being single, (which is pretty stupid, he should be able to do whatever he wants) which is what the song was about. Therefore he was reminiscing and crying about all of it.
"love of his life, who was his everything" these are pretty bold words lmao as if you know him personally and promise has nothing to do with that are you sure you're a fan? it's about members leaving and exo making promise to exols that they'll return the love they get from exols and how they're thankful to them. it's a pretty emotional song and tao was abt to leave the group at the time.
