I contacted my JCB dealer in Vancouver and they didn't know what a 1cx was!!! They'd never even seen a 3cx sideshift backhoe! This is a fantastic machine from front to back, if only JCB would try selling them.
Great machine. We own one and are very happy with it. It moves earth and digs well!
What a fantastic little piece of kit. I first operated one of the first roll out spec 1CX back in 1992, and what a brilliant tool. well done JCB!!
This is the love child of a skid steer and mini excavator. Looks sweet! Just needs telescoping arms on the front and it would be perfect.

When a backhoe and a skid steer have a baby
I need one of these if for no other reason than it's an awesome piece of equipment. (If they ever make it to the USA, that is.) When we put in our house several years ago, the contractor we hired had a 1CX and I thought it was the cutest thing ever.

I have got three machines.. The JCB 3DX Backhoe and two 432Zx wheeled loaders
My neighbor was using a backhoe that was probably 1/4 the size of this one. It runs on a lawn mower engine.

I wander what people in the late 1800 and early 1900 would think if they could see the machines of today doing tasks in 30minites which took them 2 weeks with a spade

Thanks fred, jcb Uttoxeter didn't even know what it was !,,,,, its a crying shame it's not light enough to be put behind a landrover, as it would be the answer to most of my problems, low impact, manoeuvrable , very pokey, and shit hot for tight spaces. :/

Will this be available in the US? And what happened to the wheeled version. It's not even listed on the US site anymore. Can they be sold in the US? And please don't tell me to contact my nearest dealer about it. From the other comments I have seen, the dealer isn't going to know what it is and my closest dealer is more than 4 hours away. I would love to have some info on one though.

JCB 1CXT Backhoe review
I have owned a JCB 1CXT Backhoe since 2015 and I have had a mostly positive experience with the Equipment. However I have concluded three main issues with the product’s overall performance. After being given a 15 month warranty on my backhoe, its drive motor functions completely failed directly after 15 months of use and the jcb Trinidad didn't honor the warranty. The drive motor also continued to have consistent leaking problems approximately every 9 to 12 months after. There is no way of conducting an oil change on the drive motor without completely removing it from the machine and the mechanical seals in the drive motor are exposed to debris and the elements as it is not properly secured, therefore resulting in the consistent failure of the drive motor. Another noticeable fault is that the swing box of the machine will constantly leak due to very poor design. Hydraulic cylinders as present in the larger models are better. The swing box is also unreliable and prone to performance failures after only 6 months of use. The air conditioning bracket also has a faulty design casuing it to periodically break approximately every six months. Besides these three major machine failures, the JCB 1CXT works well. Improvements in the areas previously stated will need to be made to enable consumer satisfaction.
