He's wonderful, that kind of skater you just can't take your eyes off of. He really suits the classical music, so elegant and musical. Can't wait to see him in the final!
I really liked him✨. I've been watching his programs for a while now and he's getting better and better, good flow, smooth jumps and a good connection with the music as well, which should regain more importance in figure skating nowadays. 👏👏
This skater has style! And he works hard to interpret the music... excited to see more of him!
Love his smooth style, so glad to happen on this. His jumps are so solid, and connection with the music just makes him a pleasure to watch
Soulful performance and such an amazing 3A! he works really hard to be at this point, and I truly want to see more of his beautiful performance in the future!
Beautiful performance as usual! I love Takeru’s glide and polish. It’s easy being his fan because his jumps are so solid I never have to worry about him having an implosion skate.
Omgg takeru is like yuzuru x keiji, with the same program with Yuzuru, it feel so elegant. Especially those 3A
elegance and beautiful ❣️✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨✨
Bored me to tears. This guy is already 18. What is he doing skating in the Junior GP? I can understand pairs and dance because of the smaller pool of skaters but singles?
I agree. There is a big difference between 13,14 and 18 in the men's competition. It's unfair
His execution is lack of musical and artistic passion .... moves , poses....between jumps and spins. The first thing that got my full attention was his bending forward all the time, the torso ....why?
I agree he’s a nice person but he lacks charisma on the ice and nothing special about him I’m afraid.
Wow. What a mean way to say your personal impression.😢 I wonder if you have thought about how hard this skater had to work to even get here? As Mark said, he has been in junior competitions many times without significant results. These young skaters have to win fierce domestic competitions to be chosen to enter international competitions, and even after that they cannot decide which competitions they enter; it’s the federation’s decision depending on their results. I simply admire his efforts to finally get here; I am sure it would’ve been very hard to see your peers or younger skaters getting chosen to enter senior competitions but you aren’t.
Of the last five junior world champions, 3 were 16-17 when they won gold and 2 were 18. (I think one may have been 19 actually.)
The junior men's field is dominated by skaters aged 16-18. That's always been the case. Skaters debut on the JGP circuit around 13-14 at the earliest & stay around until their home federation finds spots for them in senior international competitions or until they age out. Even prodigies like Kagiyama and Malinin stayed in junior until they turned 16.
There is absolutely nothing strange or unfair about letting 18-year-olds compete in junior; younger skaters like Seo and Nakata here have years to polish their skating skills, learn harder jumps & rise to the top of international competition. The junior circuit is not designed to be dominated by 13-year-olds. Clearly the two skaters I mentioned have a lot of fans who feel butthurt that they lost to an older and more capable competitor, but that's how it goes in sports. Sour grapes comments alleging a teenager is too old for junior competition just make you look irrational.
As for the claim Kataise's beautiful, fluid skating is boring, all I can say is, get some taste!
