Mr Thumbs previously from Sly & The Family Stone 1977-82 performing at the 2024 Xmas Party at Humphreys Backstage @backstagelivesd hosted by Stellita Porter @stellporter and co-hosted by Nick Ruiz, the house bassist, with Sam V Castellano as our earstwhile Sound Engineer.
Footnote: Sam also is one of our favourite crooners and often gets ip in stage to perform lounge classics.
The Songs:
Song 1:
A previously recorded yet unreleased song penned by Sly Stone and myself at the Record Plant Sausalito in 1979 titled “Mr Love Jones, Doctor Love” sadly like many prototype songs and sketches we worked on this song and sadly there is another albums worth of songs that never made the Final Cut and remained unfinished and unpublished in the Master Tape Library Vault under the stewardship of our then executive Producer David Rubinson of EPIC CBS.
Song 2:
A 2024 version of the classic “Thank You (Falettinme Be Mice Elf Agin)” by Sly and the Family Stone recorded and released in 1969. The song, released as a double A-side single with "Everybody Is a Star", reached number one on the soul single charts for five weeks, and reached number one on the Billboard Hot 100 in February 1970. Billboard ranked the record as the No. 19 song of 1970. It was also rereleased on the 1970 Greatest Hits album
