    As a concerned American who cares and can see past the end of my nose I have been looking for answers in and amongst all the posts on the web. I went looking for a drone channel and this was the first to pop up. You covered some of the topics I was looking for in a very good way. My biggest concern with this is the number of craft shown in some of the videos and the possibility of collision and the subsequent ground damage possible. This is something that no one has mentioned in the hours of videos I've seen.
    Thank you for sharing your expertise and I hope that my small interaction helps to get your information out to more people.

    You are the first one, Chris, that correlated guns with drones as far as civil liberties go! Good Job my friend! I've watched Billy and Russ's videos on the same subject as well, and although you guys are saying, ultimately, the same thing from a drone professional and/or enthusiast's perspective, I've come away with a different insight from each of you! I wish EVERYBODY would watch your videos! Once again great job!

    Chris that was very well said……. I hope a lot of people watch this video will take the time to watch to the end. Thank you for sharing your thoughts.

      Thank you. Unfortunately, I don't have that wide of a reach yet that I see this getting more than maybe a few thousand views...but that's a few thousand people that I would have exposed to my perspective -- so that's something! I just hope that the whole community pulls together and really shines. So far all of the people who represent the industry regularly are doing a great job of articulating themselves on this topic. Let's keep it rolling!

    We don't have to have or justify a reason to fly legally to anyone who is scared there's something nefarious going on. Glad this is America, land of the brave.

      We don’t need a reason, no. You are absolutely right. But instead of bristling and telling people they’re nuts, let’s try to introduce them to the incredible amount of good of which drones are capable.

      @lawrencewallace7501 25 днів тому

      @@TheDroneGeek I’ve never told anybody they’re nuts for thinking drones and their operators are a danger. Quite the opposite. Because I fly drones, a couple of my friends called me and asked what’s up wit all the “drone’ sightings. I let them know that most of the sightings were actually planes, and that if it was a drone, they were flying legally; they had their lights on, and that they could fly with their lights turned off. I also let them know that drones are used by many people for great things like saving many lives by using drones for search and rescue; thermal especially, delivering medications and blood, and hunters using them for searching for a wounded animal they shot buy didn’t kill. I recently used my drone to look for a loose horse around our neighborhood, which was later found by the owner.
      And, when the cops showed up at my house at night a few weeks ago because the neighbors called them for a drone that was peeking in their windows, and that they were really concerned (long before the drone scare), I sincerely let the officer know that I understood their concern and would be happy to talk with them. I also showed the officers my drone’s RC screen recording with the telemetry and video recording. They could verify that I had consistently been up above 150’. The reason the neighbors knew I was flying was because I had all my lights on, including ones I attached that can be seen 3 miles away. I informed the officer that because I was flying my thermal drone I can fly it with my lights off, and that if I was a pervert aviator, that’s exactly what I’d do. They wouldn’t even know I was there.
      Though I understand some concern about the unknown, too many times the “brave” run around like chickens screaming bloody murder, and creating a bunch of bs for those of us who are obeying the laws, and creating havoc for businesses, police and fire depts. doing good for society.
      Your video is well done and I appreciate and agree with your views of creating an understanding of the benefits of drones with those who are unaware. Unfortunately, in my view-that I don’t share with whoever I’m talking to, there are many in the “Land of the brave” who are too scared and panic when they see something they don’t know what it is. But again, that’s nothing new. And that’s a fact

    Great job in explaining things to those that just don't know better. I expressed similar sentiment on another site. Thanks so much.

    • @TheDroneGeek
      @TheDroneGeek  25 днів тому +2

      Thank you and continue to express that sentiment. People are NOT unreasonable to ask questions and want to understand more -- I think the larger whole of the drone community is also seeking answers about what's going on, especially after the numerous TFRs were put into place this afternoon throughout New Jersey. But we cannot cave-in to the hysteria and we all need to put our best foot forward when representing the community. The more we can show how much positive can come from drones, the better chance we have of pulling through this without anything major tamping down the industry.

    Hey Chris, great video and extremely valuable content. Hysteria is one thing, but mass hysteria is very dangerous. It is up to us in the drone community to educate people around us to ensure that they have the knowledge that we have gained over the last few years with our drones. thanks for sharing.

  • @hmedia1850
    @hmedia1850 25 днів тому +2

    Some good points, but it would be reassuring in at least one of these drone operators spoke up and said "Oh yeah, those were our drones - sorry just getting some night shots!" Or maybe some aerial footage of these great low light residential neighborhoods that must look great. It's all a bit odd.

    • @TheDroneGeek
      @TheDroneGeek  25 днів тому +2

      It would be reassuring, but unfortunately it’s also not necessary. Where do we draw the line? This didn’t become an issue until it was sensationalized and framed in a way that could lead people to believe that because nobody is taking accountability for them that they MUST be up to no good.
      Realistically, I wouldn’t blame any drone pilots who WERE flying in those areas if they NEVER stepped forward at this point. The amount of violence that people have threatened and just the overwhelming hysterics alone would be enough of a deterrent for me if I were the one flying them.

    What about the military base incursions, and even bases shutting down because of these incursions?

    • @TheDroneGeek
      @TheDroneGeek  25 днів тому +2

      First, I'd respectfully recommend you check the language you use to describe the situations at hand. The word "incursion" is defined as an invasion or attack. There is no evidence to support that the operation of the aircraft being spotted over New Jersey and elsewhere are a part of an incursion. It perpetuates the negative stigma without any real factual basis to support it...thus fanning the flames of the hysteria I talk about.
      There are absolutely legitimate concerns about aircraft flying over military bases. The thing is, drone, plane, helicopter...they're all capable of largely the same things in terms of visibility and access to ground-based objectives. I'd argue at this point in the game that drones are actually less effective at espionage than manned aircraft simply because manned aircraft are usually less conspicuous...especially domestically here on US soil. A drone is seen and, well, you see what a circus this has turned into...if drones are in fact being used for any type of espionage, they failed miserably...
      I won't pretend to know what's going on with the military bases and situations, but I will say this...it could be something as simple as a misguided operation (i.e. the pilot was not educated enough about the airspace in which they were operating and passed too closely over a military installation, in which case the military really needs to reassess how advanced their defense systems are) or something as convoluted as one branch or department within the government/military testing technology and communication failed. That happens a lot more than one might believe, unfortunately...our government and military are good at a lot of things, but coordination and cooperation sometimes falls woefully short of expectations...

      @@TheDroneGeekCheck my language? Well, I’d like to respectfully share this headline of an article from the DoD’s very own website, from three days ago:
      “Reports of Drone Incursions Taken Seriously, DOD Spokesman Says”
      Try and keep up on this homie, before “respectfully checking” someone without the knowledge. 👍

    The objects can be anything, the better question is what signal are they riding and who's is it?
    Its either a local transmission, orbital grid like gps or starlink, or my guess: ionosphere usage, bouncing the signal off it over the horizon.
    Biggest clue is the sunset to sunrise schedule. In daylight side the solar wind compacts the ionosphere and has layers that absorb high frequency. At night its expanded and the layer is gone. Its been a rule of these that they are vampiric in schedule. So are ionosphere radio wave usage in high frequency.

    This is super funny and true 👍🏿. I was able to get some night footage last week. Downtown Tampa. Before I got to my footage point. I could see some people almost freaking out. Then they saw me and waved at the drone lol. Smh! They watched and were in awe to see it land on the pad. Lol 😆. They went from scared to excited. As well shocked by how the night photos and videos came out. They assumed there was no way a drone would work at night. I may have got the couple to purchase a drone! They asked so many questions I felt like I was the number one man of drones lmao 🤣. Nevertheless great video and great information 👍🏿 etc. The goal that night was to get some Christmas lights. And I got more than I wanted. I passed by the Christmas lights and got footage of Tampa Riverwalk Holiday lighting! Fyi for the Karens, I checked all the boxes. It wasn't an area I needed approval for. Just had to be aware of my surroundings. And where I was I had a clear line of sight! So to the Karens relax! 😂. There are lots of areas you don't need approval to fly. Just FYI Karen lmao 🤣

      Keep doing your thing! We can't let some negative pushback from the general public keep us from flying. We're going to go through some more growing pains as an industry on this front unfortunately because this is being overblown, but keep doing your thing and keep creating!

    Agree that what you have shown appears to be aircraft which also show up on apps such as FlightRadar24, FlightView, Yand others. One crew used these apps to disqualify the commercial aircraft so that they were not mistaken. Low and behold, they were seeing things that did not show up on these apps; NOT commercial manned traffic. Then there are the "white or blue/white" Orbs that have no colored lights and just look like a spotlight. By the way these have been shown going into the ocean. Then there are some where one drone causes another one to go down. Hmm. Interesting. My guess is that they picked the 2 percent that they KNEW were commercial or identifiable and used that the say "see, just normal traffic". Well, I don't believe that BullSh!t! Filter out the ones they know and work on the ones that are not identified easily or at all. Things have gotten to the point that it is simply "Too Big to Rig" or explain away. The should Stop the cover up and tell the truth.

    • @TheDroneGeek
      @TheDroneGeek  24 дні тому

      Right, I never said NONE of them were drones. The overwhelming majority are NOT drones being sighted though. The cases where they are drones are very likely operating within the letter of the law. The aircraft in New Jersey, I wish I could say for sure what they are or what their purpose is...we likely won't know for a very long time, if ever. If I'm speculating -- and again, this is pure speculation, I'd guess the aircraft over New Jersey that aren't manned aircraft are a part of a military operation. If that is the case, we probably won't ever be made privy to it. That's just how the military works when it comes to disclosing information to civilians.
