It's implied that she wasn't around. Kyle said he wanted to meet the legend. There is a better than good chance that Sarah didn't survive and was killed before Kyle was ever born.
Tremendous reaction, Kahla. You'll definitely love T2, so keep going. Of all the elements in this film, my favorite is the play on the photo. 80s and 90s was hands down the best era for movies. All of my favorites are from that time. We had likeable heroes and heroines, good stories and tight scripts with no fluff. Movies are too long nowadays.
A lot of people (not you surprisingly) at the beginning wonder; "Why is the cop chasing him? how would they know?" Well, they dont, you can hear one of them say in a low tone "Is that the guy?" They were simply looking for someone similar to Kyle's description and of course, running away from a cop is suspicious. Love how much trouble they went for a "maybe". XD
It's 1984, no Google 😸 The terminator only knows her name, so he got the addresses of all the Sarah Connors in the guide and kill them all just to make sure. He's being systematic. The "other side" in the war... well, you will get answers later in the movie 👍 Great video!
Wow, you really got into it. Excellent reaction! You even formed a connection to both Kyle & Sarah that is so strong, that I have to tell you, "T2," before anyone has a chance to spoil it for you. Loved it!
Its a chicken and the egg paradox. But the reason it works is because unlike todays time travel movies, they didnt explain it. They just let the viewer process how it happens. The dialog in this film is just perfect, every line has a reason to be said. Even something as small as when Kyle says "John Connor gave me a picture of you once, I didnt know why at the time." Its the "at the time" part that makes this an even better line then it was. It shows Kyle at that moment understood he was John's father and then proceeds to tell Sarah that he loves her.
I loved this reaction so much! Your journey of figuring the science plus your trademark humor, plus your beauty. Hell of a video. Glad I was here for it... again
The budget James Cameron got for this makes it amazing how awesome it is. You will see how much difference having a larger budget makes when you watch T2... T2 is top 3 sequels all time along with Aliens and Ep5 The Empire Strikes Back 😊
love the low-key tension of the gentle four beat "da-da-da-da" underscoring so much of the film. *Edit* five beats, for some reason I always think it's four
I liked the scenes where Silberman was interrogating Reese. I got another one of my favorites that also involves time travel that you should react to is The Final Countdown (1980) The U.S.S. Nimitz goes back to December 6th, 1941. It's filmed on the Nimitz. It's like Top Gun meets Back to the Future.
Love your reaction Kahla, and your style in general. Your cute southern accent reminds me of where I grew up in South Carolina. Looking forward to T2!! 💙
I've had an absolutely AWFUL week (and it's not even over yet), so seeing this uploaded and ready for me right when I get home is such a blessing that you don't even know right now. I know the feeling. It's been an outright awful month for me. Always take care of yourself first, other things can wait. I hope things get better for you.
My first time watching this movie, i was 7 years old and had stayed up past my bedtime. I went to the living room and my mom was watching the movie. The way the apartment was set up, I was behind the couch, so i watched the last half of the film silently and then ran back to bed before she ever noticed. I told her YEARS later and she was shocked 😅 Years later, my step brother loved T2 so we would watch it a ton, but I didn't see the whole first film till I was a teen
I watched the Shawshank Redemption when my dad rented it on Paperview. when I was about 8 or 9. I was under a pile of blankets on the couch. He didn't know I was there. When the movie was finished, I said: "That was a great movie." My dad jumped because he thought I wasn't in the room, and then said: "Yeah, it really was."
Great stuff Kahla, this one rules. Please watch the theatrical cut of Terminator 2. You can always visit the extra bits from the extended edition later (some parts are interesting/fun) but the original version is much better paced and has the superior ending
Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by a terminator, a predator, and an alien. It turns out the only way for Skynet to win the war is to go back in time and stop itself from inventing time travel so that Kyle Reese can't go back in time and father John Connor.
@anacarolmsc , Lance wasn't killed in Aliens. He played an android that was torn in half but survived. He died in the crash, not as a result of the alien encounter.
It's nice to hear you say t2 and beyond because that sounds like you're planning on watching them all. While none of them after 2 reach the quality of the first 2 they all have elements that are interesting and worth watching at least once.
Excellent reaction! The next one is better than this one in my humble opinion. I enjoy your reactions, you seem like a genuine person, not some self-made caricature like so many other reactors are. Thank you for your efforts making these videos, I appreciate it. I hope you and yours have a great Thanksgiving.
If you have to see Terminator 2, make sure it's either the theatrical version or the special edition, but if it's the latter, make sure it's the version with the original ending, not the alternate ending. Although everyone will tell you to avoid the various sequels, I disagree, each in its own way has something interesting to say. Terminator 3 and Terminator Salvation are the direct sequels to Terminator 2, although Terminator Salvation was supposed to be the first chapter of a trilogy set in the future, but never completed. Terminator Genysis is a sequel that interrupts the timeline that everyone knows, changing the events of the first Terminator and creating a new story. This too was supposed to be the first chapter of a trilogy that never was. Terminator Dark Fate, in its original intentions, was supposed to overlap with Terminator 3 and Salvation, being a sequel that is positioned immediately after Terminator 2 and from which it gives rise to a new story. This too is the first chapter of a trilogy that never was.
I completely agree with you about Terminator 2. That "alternate" ending just doesn't "seem right" to me. The other added scenes, though.... just make the movie even better.
@@IggyStardust1967 I think Terminator 2 has a perfect editing already as it is in its theatrical version. That said, yes, the extra scenes give more details that make it more interesting, like the T-1000 that after the freezing begins to no longer maintain the shapes it takes as before, or how Sarah did not trust the Terminator and was ready to destroy it, so yes I agree, but I am more fond of the theatrical editing. Different opinion for the special edition of Aliens that in my opinion completely ruins the theatrical version that is perfect in pace and editing, while the Special Edition only adds unnecessary things, that ruin the pace.
"The Terminator": The Hero's Journey of Sarah Connor, assisted by Tech. Sgt. Kyle Reese. 36:15 Sarah Connor discovers her inner Commander. 39:48 Obsolete technology on display. That was an Eastman Kodak Kodamatic 940 that used Kodak Instant Picture Film. Developed jointly by Kodak and Fuji, it took a bite out of Polaroid's market. Miffed, Polaroid sued Kodak Instant Picture technology out of existence before "going away like Pontiac." Fuji struck a deal to "keep it domestic," which became the Fujifilm Instax system.
"Best (first) Sequel Ever" can be argued.... but it's DEFINITELY among the top 5 (first) sequels ever made to a highly successful movie. I added "first" to specify basically a direct sequel to a highly successful movie. Some franchises had some "not so good" direct sequels, but some absolute BANGERS later on.
@35:29 Sometimes Kahla, you strike a pose that is so perfectly expressive! the Indignation, the How Dare You?, the barely contained fury! .... if folks don't sub when they see that, then they should call the Doctor.
I watched in anticipation only to see that you skipped the overwhelming majority of the police station shootout. lol that's the part I wanted to see you react towards most
Got a smile on my face already just knowing how much you're gonna _love_ T2. :) Also if you haven't seen it already and want to check out more peak James Cameron, you need to watch True Lies. It's one of the most fun times you can have watching a movie.
So after the Terminator is sent back John Connor explains everything to Reese what his mission was pushing Reese into the time portal right after the Terminator and as soon as Reese leaves from the future and makes the jump into the past, John Connor self sacrifices himself and blows the entire Skynet factory to pieces in a catastrophic nuclear blast. Some of the fire from the explosion from the future makes it into the time traveling portal with Reese that's why he's all burnt up in the beginning of the movie when he arrives. The entire future and the world Reese was from ended after that and there was no way to get back for Reese or the Terminator. After the car crash in the police car the Terminators flesh suit was slowly beginning to die. Must've just reeked badly like pure rotting carcass.
Just here so the algo points me back to when you do T2. Past that is up to you but T2 is a masterpiece. And may I put my vote into the theatrical release. Directors cut is ok but the special edition has more bs that breaks the flow and has a stupid ending. Glad you enjoyed the first and enjoy the journey you are on!
I'm not sure if anyone else has mentioned to you, but if you do a reaction to Terminator 2, I would recommend the director's cut as it has some fantastic extra scenes in it. Also, if a reaction to T2 is coming, I look forward to it xx
I'd actually recommend either the Special Edition or the Extended Edition over the director's cut simply because the Theatrical ending is better than the Old Lady Sarah Ending.
Hi Kahla, it's great to see your appreciation for these films. I bet you would really enjoy the movie Donnie Darko if you haven't seen it yet, and I'd love to see your reaction to it. Have a great day!
Terminators are typically just Androids. They Become Cyborgs when outfitted with the Skin Suit which most Terminators don't get. The Cyborgs are used for Infiltration missions and Time Travel because they require the skin suit.
Reese described my ex gf perfectly. She can't be bargained with, she can't be reasoned with. She doesn't feel remorse, fear, or pain and she will not stop, until I am dead.
1. Linda Hamilton ROCKED. She's really built in T2. "Terminator 2 Judgment Day" is the action movie GOAT.🤩 2. Lance Henriksen/Vukovich, Michael Biehn/Reese and Bill Paxton/punk also played in "Aliens" as Bishop, Hicks and Hudson respectively. 3.We have limited AI now. So does China.😱😱 4. If this wasn't a movie the ammunition would not have been available on the gun shop counter. 5. Ginger's boyfriend Matt must be a lousy lay if she needs rock and roll to "rock and roll".😏 6. Watching people react to the eye operation is worth watching this all by itself. 7. THAT'S a bitch slap.😏
"I'll be back." I highly recommend watching the extended version of Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) with the definitive ending. There's absolutely nothing wrong with that version and adds context that was originally taken out, anyone that says otherwise is pushing an agenda. Fun Fact: The crew had "You can't scare me, I work for James Cameron." t-shirts made. Casting Notes Fact: O.J. Simpson was considered for the Terminator, but the producers feared he was "too nice" to be taken seriously as a cold-blooded killer. Ironic. Director Cameo Fact: Near the beginning of the movie, when Sarah Connor (Linda Hamilton) receives a message on her answering machine breaking her date, the voice on the machine is James Cameron's. Make-Up Shenanigans Fact: One afternoon during a break in filming, Arnold Schwarzenegger went into a restaurant in downtown L.A. to get some lunch and realized all too late that he was still in Terminator make-up with a missing eye, exposed jawbone and burned flesh. Gun Enthusiast Fact: Arnold Schwarzenegger worked with guns every day for a month to prepare for the role. The first two weeks of filming he practiced weapons stripping and reassembly blindfolded until the motions were automatic, like a machine. He spent hours at the shooting range and practiced with different weapons without blinking or looking at them when reloading or cocking. He also had to be ambidextrous. He practiced different moves up to 50 times. He wound up garnering a compliment in Soldier Of Fortune magazine for his realistic handling of the guns on camera (whereas the magazine usually lampoons movies for their inaccurate depictions of weapons use).
No, if you're not going to do the theatrical version, then do the "Special Edition" version, NOT the "Extended Special Edition" one. I'm not usually bothered by these things, but the alternate ending scene in that does not hit as hard as the one we original got. And we don't know if she plans on doing more sequels, which would be confusing if she does that ending...
Can you say ... AI? Well done, darlin - good reaction. Maybe when you're done watching T2, you could check out EX MACHINA (2014) Domhnall Gleeson, Alicia Vikander, Oscar Isaac. Excellent movie. PS After T2, the Terminator franchise is just that, a franchise. I suggest you move on, though some will want to argue. Peace -
20:00 IT IS TERRIFYING - not for the first time written in a similar way. The classic here is the theatre play R.UR ( Rossum´s Universal Robots ). by Karel Capec written in 1920 in Czechoslovakia. . The authorwanted original to put up a play about the Communistic Worldrevolution but since that was forbidden back then he had turned it ino some sort of an SCIENCE FICTION Story. by the way in Czech Robot means Worker.
"Oh no... Normally characters like this, they don't make it." Yyyuuuppp! You got that right. lol _You don't get to see the nuclear war, guys! Sorry!_ (Spoiler alert for a 40 year old movie btw...) If one's to pick the plot and storytelling of this movie apart - which I generally don't think people should do; one should enjoy a movie (or not, as the case may be) the way it was intended by its creators - one has to conclude that the Machines were actually predestined (so to speak) to win. The whole gist of the movie is it's a loop. Hero Woman gives birth to Revolutionary Leader who assembles an army of Guerilla Freedom Fighters and conquers the Machines; the Machines sends back in time an Assassin to stop their own downfall; the Freedom Fighters send back a Protector for Hero Woman; Protector turns out to be father of Hero Woman's Revolutionary Leader son. (Spoiler alert, again...) Ok, cool! But, before Protector could go back in time - because those events had not happened yet - how did Revolutionary Leader get fathered the first time around? Was his dad Untrustworthy Porsche Guy, until Protector enters the scene and changes things? But if so, how did Hero Woman learn all the stuff she needed to teach her son to become Guerilla Revolutionary Leader? Of course, she wouldn't. She'd just remain Mildly Inept Waitress, and likely perish along with her son/family in the nuclear war to come, the coming of which she would not even know of. So, the Machines would therefore win by default. But that wouldn't make for a very interesting movie, would it? :D
The time travel machine is generated by living organisms The time travel machine is generated by living organisms. No clothes will go through no weapons. Either because of the magnetics of the quantum field generator. Otherwise, the time sphere will become Unstable, it'll blow up. It's like cooking a plate of food in the microwave with aluminum plate and it sparks up and blow up.
*My favorite bit of comedy is in the apartment as the landlord asks about the odor coming from the room. The Terminator cycles through possible responses and comes up with "Fuck you, asshole", which is a nod to the scene where the T-800 (for the sake of simplicity) first arrived and encountered/slaughtered all but one member of that gang of thugs led by Bill Paxton.*
In this movie the terminator is refered to as a cyborg but i dont think thats accurate ......in terminator salavation and dark fate , yes but thid and the 2nd movie NO ..... Cyborg in my mind referes to something that WAS ONCE HUMAN or AN ENHANCED HUMAN .....The terminator in the first 3 movies is NOT and never was human 😊😊😊
Cyborg is actually the Middle ground term. A Robot that enhances its abilities with biological components is still a Cyborg. Think of it like a highway. You're a human going towards machine in one lane and the machine going towards human is driving in the opposite lane. Now, this only applies to Terminators that have Skin-Suits. The rest of them the ones that don't have skin suits are just Androids.

2nd movie is also really good. Liked your reaction.👍👍👍
This was Cameron's first feature film according to him. He said it wasn't bad, all things considered.
It was his first solo director credit. He did direct piranha 2 but disowned it for a long time.
Terrific watch and reaction. Thank you!!
39:51 in the movie Kyle said he studied every line every curve. He said Sara looked a little sad in the picture because she was thinking of Kyle.
That was a great reaction and commentary. I'm glad I subscribed.
W8 for T2:) With love from RU
Love your reaction Kahla, and your style in general. Your cute southern accent reminds me of where I grew up in South Carolina. Looking forward to T2!! 💙
He knew the mom lived in big bear from the address book. He was analyzing it when the janitor knocked and asked if he had a dead cat in his room.
Bill Paxton played the punk smashing the beer bottle at the beginning
Your channel is priceless. *chefs kiss*
Been with you since I watched you bust up over Michael Winslow in Spaceballs
The cabin was in Big Bear, which is a couple hours from LA.
I've had an absolutely AWFUL week (and it's not even over yet), so seeing this uploaded and ready for me right when I get home is such a blessing that you don't even know right now. I'm supposed to be recording Christmas reactions, but I'm gonna watch you instead right now because I need it. Those recording can wait lol...
I know the feeling. It's been an outright awful month for me. Always take care of yourself first, other things can wait. I hope things get better for you.
I'm sorry that you've had such a bad week. I hope it gets better. Do whatever you need to do to feel better. ❤️
@@kahlareacts Thank you. Your reaction certainly helped 💛...
My first time watching this movie, i was 7 years old and had stayed up past my bedtime. I went to the living room and my mom was watching the movie. The way the apartment was set up, I was behind the couch, so i watched the last half of the film silently and then ran back to bed before she ever noticed. I told her YEARS later and she was shocked 😅
Years later, my step brother loved T2 so we would watch it a ton, but I didn't see the whole first film till I was a teen
Another excellent reaction!✌️ PS: love that your vid fits perfectly in full screen on my phone
Great stuff Kahla, this one rules.
Please watch the theatrical cut of Terminator 2.
You can always visit the extra bits from the extended edition later (some parts are interesting/fun) but the original version is much better paced and has the superior ending
You caught more than most reactors do. Arnold got her little black book. Her mom was in that and the address for the cabin where Sara told her to go.
Bill Paxton is the only actor to be killed by a terminator, a predator, and an alien. It turns out the only way for Skynet to win the war is to go back in time and stop itself from inventing time travel so that Kyle Reese can't go back in time and father John Connor.
Lance Henriksen as well 👍🏼
@anacarolmsc , Lance wasn't killed in Aliens. He played an android that was torn in half but survived. He died in the crash, not as a result of the alien encounter.
Fantastic reaction, thanks Kahla!
Saludos desde la República Dominicana excelente video
Hey buddy?? Did you just see a real bright light??
thank you for leaving that in
"The Terminator": The Hero's Journey of Sarah Connor, assisted by Tech. Sgt.
Ok, now you gotta see Terminator 2, best sequel ever ! Enjoyed your reaction Kahla !
If you liked this terminator then you'll love Terminator 2 judgement day . Can't wait to see your reaction to t2.
Wheeewww awesome reaction ❤❤😂😂😂🎉🎉🎉
Loved your reaction.
10:44 always makes me chuckle 😊
@35:29 Sometimes Kahla, you strike a pose that is so perfectly expressive! the Indignation, the How Dare You?, the barely contained fury! .... if folks don't sub when they see that, then they should call the Doctor.
5:40 "What difference will it make next Tuesday. "
Will watch weekend, definitely. Like dropped. Until then, I'll be back 😊
I watched in anticipation only to see that you skipped the overwhelming majority of the police station shootout. lol that's the part I wanted to see you react towards most
Very entertaining reaction 👌
Got a smile on my face already just knowing how much you're gonna _love_ T2. :)
Also if you haven't seen it already and want to check out more peak James Cameron, you need to watch True Lies. It's one of the most fun times you can have watching a movie.
You are one of my faves.. Xoxo keep it up
Thank you! ❤️
Oh yeah, she's in it.
Best movie of the history.
T2 is the best of the series

@@piloto88ed 😃T2 blows the first out the water
That was James Cameron breaking the date with Sara.
As a youngling this movie made getting a pair of gargoyles my top priority.
You’d be great to watch a movie with (in person) 😂
If you thought this movie was good, you will love T2, arguably the best sequel of any movie franchise.
How does one do a Terminator reaction video, and then edit out the self-surgery parts?
some random......NAKED person just APPEARS. lol love the reaction
She doesn't feel remorse, fear, or pain and she will not stop, until I am dead.
pipe bombs
As good as this is, Terminator 2 is even better. Probably the best sequel ever.
1. Linda Hamilton ROCKED. She's really built in T2. "Terminator 2 Judgment Day" is the action movie GOAT.🤩
2. Lance Henriksen/Vukovich, Michael Biehn/Reese and Bill Paxton/punk also played in "Aliens" as Bishop, Hicks and Hudson respectively.
3.We have limited AI now. So does China.😱😱
4. If this wasn't a movie the ammunition would not have been available on the gun shop counter.
5. Ginger's boyfriend Matt must be a lousy lay if she needs rock and roll to "rock and roll".😏
6. Watching people react to the eye operation is worth watching this all by itself.
7. THAT'S a bitch slap.😏
Yep, he's in pieces. Reese's pieces. 😮
Whatever you do, if you do watch the sequels, do not stop at T2. At least watch up to T3.
You Have to watch, and review T2 - the BEST sequel ever!!! You'll LOVE it........ T
why you skipped part when Terminator is repairing himself and remove eye ?
"I'll be back."
I highly recommend watching the extended version of Terminator 2: Judgement Day (1991) with the definitive ending.
@@AshLee92490Spot on. The alternative ending was trash. Original ending is the best one.
Nice hair
If you want to see really great, emotional and a bit more complex and deep animation, watch japanese animation "Your name". (or anything from Ghibli).

"Oh no... Normally characters like this, they don't make it."
Yyyuuuppp! You got that right. lol _You don't get to see the nuclear war, guys! Sorry!_
(Spoiler alert for a 40 year old movie btw...)
If one's to pick the plot and storytelling of this movie apart - which I generally don't think people should do; one should enjoy a movie (or not, as the case may be) the way it was intended by its creators - one has to conclude that the Machines were actually predestined (so to speak) to win.
(Spoiler alert, again...)
Ok, cool!
