That subway scene has always been one of the scariest movie scenes ever. I was a teen, when this was released, and I remember how much that part spooked me out.
Compare the scene where Carolyn meets the Candyman in the Subway to Helen meeting him in the parking Garage during the first movie. It sums up the massive dip in the quality.
